34 weeks today! Only 6 more to go can’t believe how quickly it is coming round!

anony1111 · 04/01/2024 10:31

@novamama 🤣🤣 how many weeks have you got left? At least the hospital bag doesn't take too long to chuck together

novamama · 04/01/2024 10:48

@anony1111 5.5 weeks left 😆 that's still enough time, right?

Speaking of prep, when do you set up the bed side bassinet? I don't really want to struggle to get out of bed until very neccessary 🙈

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/01/2024 10:50

@novamama I'm 35 weeks and I haven't set up anything or packed my hospital bag yet 🙈 anyone else so disorganised?

I was thinking I don't want the baby bed to get all dusty, or the clothes in the bags to get musty and stale, as it could be more than a month still. Plus I've very few maternity clothes so I need what I've got on rotation, and not in my bag!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 04/01/2024 11:34

How honestly do you know whether it's more regular braxton hicks compared to actual contractions?

I'm getting serious cramps in my bump, my back is aching like mad and really bad cramping in my pelvis too.

Haven't had a show or anything like that but it just feels really strange

Shrillwaffle · 04/01/2024 11:39

@Kelb79 ive had my ball blown up for ages like over a year and then now I want to use it my cat bloody popped it 🙄🙄😅😅

@Sugarplumw 94 is still okay though isn’t it? I know when my dad was very poorly they were only majorly majorly concerned when it went below 90

CheeseAndCrackersx · 04/01/2024 11:50

Well I dunno if was wrong...... just been to the toilet and wiped and there was a blob of yellow like jelly on the tissue, not a lot but looked thicker than discharge blob

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/01/2024 12:00

@CheeseAndCrackersx how far along are you?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 04/01/2024 12:03

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 34+2

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/01/2024 12:07

@CheeseAndCrackersx could be. Can you time the periods between the cramps?

Also, if it is a bit of the mucus plug, it can regenerate apparently. I lost a chunk of mine, took a picture for the midwife, and she said it can grow back so doesn't mean labour is imminent necessarily.

Anyone more experienced? I was induced so don't know much about natural labour

Sugarplumw · 04/01/2024 12:13

@Shrillwaffle I read online that it's under 94 in pregnant women so it was a bit concerning

Mummapenguin20 · 04/01/2024 13:44

@CheeseAndCrackersx with being under 37 weeks id ring triage x

anony1111 · 04/01/2024 14:24

@novamama plenty of time as long as you don't have an early arrival 🤣 I've got 8 weeks left.
I think I will probably set up the bedside crib when I have around 2-3 weeks left but I won't make it up with sheets etc until baby arrives.

@CheeseAndCrackersx I think I would ring maternity assessment and just run it by them if you think it's more than Braxton hicks and your under 37 weeks

amyg1985 · 04/01/2024 16:23

Hope you're ok @CheeseAndCrackersx

DmcinT · 04/01/2024 17:30

@Sunshineclouds11 i had this yesterday and gp asked me to come in with urine sample (it showed up with blood also) so she sent me to maternity where they did an internal, monitored baby for a while etc and everything was fine so I got out home last night. I’d deff recommend going in just to put ur mind at ease.

@CheeseAndCrackersx also no harm going in, they can check if ur in labour or ur body is ready to go into labour in next day or 2. My tests came back negative so they reckon the small bit of bleeding is from the pressure on my stitch.

@novamama i don’t have bags packed yet either but yesterday has kinda given me a kick, I’m just over 34 weeks now so going to get them sorted & packed in the next few days

CheeseAndCrackersx · 04/01/2024 19:11

I called and went in to be checked over cos I did honestly start to feel I was in labour by the pains but cervix is still very much closed and baby all fine so they think I may have just overdone it somehow, I guess I did do rather a lot yesterday.

Meeting · 04/01/2024 19:45

@CheeseAndCrackersx so glad all is well, it's so hard to know what your limits are at the minute isn't it. I completely drained myself when taking down the Xmas decs and cleaning up after and it took me a couple of days to recover from it.

CharXo · 04/01/2024 20:10

Glad to hear everything is ok @CheeseAndCrackersx! Try and rest up x

DmcinT · 04/01/2024 20:17

@CheeseAndCrackersx ah I’m glad to hear❤️
@Meeting I had done the exact same, taken down the tree, cleaned and was making my way through bags of baby clothes sorting out sizes when I got the wipe of blood, it must have all been a bit much but as u say it’s hard to know what’s too much at the min.

Shrillwaffle · 04/01/2024 21:44

@Sugarplumw are you going back in to be checked? My last reading was 96 I think, maybe the babies are zapping our o2 hope everything is ok x

Chanhedforthis · 04/01/2024 21:49

Anyone else fed up yet?

Im 33 weeks tomorrow and February seems sooo long away! I'm so uncomfortable.

Sugarplumw · 04/01/2024 22:16

@Shrillwaffle I didn't go in as I was so tired and it was late, I've felt fine today though (apart from losing pieces of my mucus plug!) but if you're concerned and it's on 96 for a long time it's worth giving maternity line a call for sure

Nemo145 · 04/01/2024 23:01

@Chanhedforthis I wouldn’t say “fed up” as I’m glad I’ve to 34 weeks but I’m definitely fed up of the hip pain that keeps me awake most of the night. I just can’t get comfy and I’m permanently exhausted. I feel shattered but my body/ brain / hormones won’t let me sleep.

AllAboardTootToot · 04/01/2024 23:29

@Nemo145 lying here struggling with dead hip feeling too. Now trying a mound of pillows!

hopefully you get some relief soon!

@Chanhedforthis yesss! Im mostly fed up of feeling so uncomfortable and in pain with my pelvis and hips! It's so exhausting! I just keep telling myself it's all gonna be worth it when baby boy is in my arms!

Has everyone got names picked yet? I'm struggling so much and don't seem to like any! Suggestions are very welcome 😊
