Hate to hear you’re all uncomfortable but at the same time it’s reassuring! The last few days have been horrible, during the day I’m busy doing stuff but as soon as evening comes it’s awful. I sit/lay down and she’s kicking and moving around so much that’s it’s causing sharp pains on my bladder and what feels like my cervix. Can’t really explain how they feel but they hurt and take my breath away and are causing me to barely sleep. Starting to really worry that if I’m bad with just this then what the hell I’m going to be like in actual labour!!!

Mummapenguin20 · 06/01/2024 19:21

@Gardenfingers23 honestly the cervix pain is next level. Labour is a completely different pain x

Nemo145 · 06/01/2024 19:48

Thank you for all the advice on the dummy front. I’d really like to try and breast feed so if it can affect / impact that I will leave the dummy for a while.

Im also struggling with food. I can only eat small amounts and then I just get so uncomfortable.

Is anyone else that’s having an elective, still waiting on their date? I’m so anxious I’m going to get forgotten about!

Just found this new thread and catching up! I’ll get my date at my 36 week consultant appointment. Have you got one of those booked in?

redxlondon · 06/01/2024 21:59

Sorry to hear so many of you are so uncomfortable. Are you doing yoga? When I get any aches I find it’s because I’ve skipped a day or two. I think short yoga sessions have really helped.

babythreeincoming · 06/01/2024 22:01

Highly recommend a pregnancy massage also! I had one yesterday and I feel like a new woman 😍

CharXo · 06/01/2024 22:03

@redxlondon got my 36 week midwife appointment but that’s it. I’m waiting for a growth scan so midwife said that the hospital should call me Monday/Tuesday for that so I guess depending how that goes I may find out soon? I just want to know so I can be a little more organised with childcare etc

Hello Ladies. Hope you don’t mind me joining in. I’m due 3rd of February, currently 36 weeks and 1 day 😃 but going for planned section at 39 weeks and still don’t have a date . 🤭 How are you feeling guys? I’m so uncomfortable already I can’t imagine going another 3 weeks , as baby is measuring around 8pounds + already 😳 it’s my second baby, and my first one was big boy 10 pounds 11. So I was hoping for a smaller girl hehe

Do you know when you’ll get your date, and do you have a consultant appointment?
I have one at 36 weeks, I’m coming up to 35 weeks. I assumed that appointment would be to go through the planned section and dates, but now I’m wondering if it’s just a check up appointment and I’ll need something separate for the section date

Clueless13 · 07/01/2024 17:39

Anyone else’s baby getting hiccups daily? I’m 34 weeks and baby seems to get them at least once a day

MrsW9 · 07/01/2024 17:54

@Clueless13 yes, usually two or three times a day. I'm 33 weeks.

Clueless13 · 07/01/2024 17:56

@MrsW9 ah thanks, I wasn’t sure if it was normal as I felt them last night list before going to bed and now can feel hiccups again and it’s been like that for the last couple of weeks x

Cheetocat · 07/01/2024 18:14

I've only felt hiccups four or five times but as far as I know it's good for them, strengthens the diaphragm so they can take nice big breaths when they are born!

Meeting · 07/01/2024 18:19

I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions for dealing with heartburn? It's constant and really painful!

CharXo · 07/01/2024 18:24

@Meeting i had to go to the doctors for mine because it got to a point I couldn’t eat anything and gaviscon just wasn’t touching the sides and made me gag taking it. They prescribed me Omeprazole and it’s been a game changer!

Meeting · 07/01/2024 18:33

Thanks @CharXo I'm seeing my midwife on Wednesday so hopefully I can last until then and she will be able to get me a prescription. It's virtually impossible to get an appointment at my GP!

AllAboardTootToot · 07/01/2024 19:12

@Meeting you can buy equivalent of it in home bargains or b&m. Midwife can’t prescribe it has to be doc but can buy a weeks worth of tablets for £4, that’s what my midwife told me to do 🙈

This! I can highly recommend the Bounty app, it explains how the baby develops week by week, and helps understand some of what you feel.

AllAboardTootToot · 07/01/2024 20:19

@babythreeincoming great shout! Just booked one in for Friday afternoon, lower back will thank me for it 😂

@Meeting I had it really bad and ended up needing Omeprazole from the doctor, but was using love heart sweets before that which helped much more than Gaviscon! Worth a try x

CharXo · 07/01/2024 20:41

@Meeting glass of milk helps a little too x

Shrillwaffle · 07/01/2024 20:41

Hi @Doodles18! I’m 35+4 due date 7th Feb but being induced at 38 weeks on the 24th Jan 😬 I just want her here now everything hurts so much and everything is so difficult
physically 😫

glad to hear I’m not alone on the heartburn front I swear mines from the metaformin I can’t wait to come off it!! Thanks for comments on omeprozole I’m going to call the doctors tomorrow 🙏🏻 love being in this forum and reading everyone else’s experiences 🙌🏻

@Clueless13 my baby is also hiccuping once a day, yesterday she hiccuped 2 times! I'm 35 weeks today.

Doodles18 · 07/01/2024 22:12

@redxlondon no it was just a usual growth scan + consultant appointment afterwards. To check urine sample, blood pressure and go over the latest scan. Check how you are feeling etc and then got asked if I had any questions. And my only question was literally when will I get the letter and unfortunately they can’t say as it can be even a week before your section date.

KayakingBex · 08/01/2024 00:11

@Meeting I get acid reflux most nights :(. Have to sleep with two pillows and take Rennies. It has been bad enough to make me throw up a couple of times as it sets my gag reflex off. I’m now curious about everyone else’s remedies that they’ve posted.
