@Chanhedforthis yes, definitely noticed an increased pain & pressure feeling this week. As much as I want her to stay in even 2/3 more weeks, I also feel done and sore

Meeting · 05/01/2024 07:11

@DmcinT glad I'm not the only one! I feel like I get a burst of energy and want to get loads done but always crash halfway through and it drives me mad.

@anony1111 we've had our name picked out for a while but haven't told anyone yet. It's easier just to say we haven't picked yet because everyone feels entitled to know and doesn't take no for an answer!

My induction day is on the 24th Jan! 19 days away 😬😬😬 I hope that means I can still stay in the February group 😅😅

Obv you need to stay!

How exciting! Sorry if I've missed that you've already said but why are you getting induced?

I was induced with my first (IVF) and I loved knowing when I was going in etc.

anony1111 · 05/01/2024 16:13

@Meeting I completely agree and everyone always has an opinion too! We didn't tell anyone with my first, until he was born. This time round I just don't like any 🙈 my 6 year old is called Max so need something to go with that.

@Shrillwaffle how exciting?! 19 days will fly by and you will get to meet baby 🥰

Shrillwaffle · 05/01/2024 16:27

@Sunshineclouds11 its okay ☺️ I lost my baby last year at 38 weeks and I have mental health issues also GD so I think it’s a combination of all of that but I think mainly the mental health/stillbirth. She weighs approx 5lb 12 ☺️ how did you find induction?

Shrillwaffle · 05/01/2024 16:35

Nonono I wrote that wrong I’m getting induced at 38 weeks exactly lost my baby at just under 24 weeks

Sugarplumw · 05/01/2024 17:03

Has anyone been losing parts of their mucus plug every day?

DmcinT · 05/01/2024 17:56

@Shrillwaffle oh shrill it’s so nice to have a date and know ur in that week❤️ 19 days will absolutely fly too. Do u feel like ur all set or much left to do?

CharXo · 05/01/2024 17:58

I had my 34 week appointment today and have got to go for a growth scan as baby is measuring massive (my last appointment was at 28 weeks and he was fine then) I’m a bit stressed about it I won’t lie. Not really sure what to expect

Sunshineclouds11 · 05/01/2024 18:03

@Shrillwaffle Awr I'm sorry for your loss!
Wishing you lots of luck!

It was fine really, a long wait until things got going so we just walked round the hosp, ate and watched films.
So I would just be prepared for abit of a wait.

How much bigger are you measuring?

I measured a week and 3 days bigger at my 34 app and she wasn't concerned

Cheetocat · 05/01/2024 18:25

We live outside the UK so not sure if there's something similar but we attend a free class which is lead by a delivery nurse and today was all preparation for labour, it was really good, we learned ways to get baby in position, the partners learned ways to massage us and help with pain management during contractions and she really stressed that they need to advocate for us in the hospital too. She showed us ways we can use gravity while pushing and how the position of your legs opens and closes your pelvis. It was so good, so informative. It made me want to buy a yoga ball to be on at home. Baby feels like he's in a completely different position after all the ways I moved my body in the class. 😂

CharXo · 05/01/2024 18:33

@Sunshineclouds11 I’m not entirely sure. She showed me the chart on her computer and it was way above where she was expecting it to be? She did say though that the scan will be a lot more accurate than her measurement.. so I guess I will just wait for a call and see how it goes?

CareBear17 · 05/01/2024 18:59

getting anxious waiting for my c section date now

LavenderSweetPea · 05/01/2024 19:45

@Cheetocat sounds like a great experience! I've been doing NCT which has been similar. Definitely feel more prepared for delivery day!

Ladies, I know this is just a moan really but I need to get it off my chest. I'm feeling so blue about work. I'm 35w tomorrow, and I've got 3 more full weeks of work left. Physically I can manage no problem but mentally I feel like such a loose part. I feel like all the preparations have been done for me to go on leave and everyone is just kind of waiting for me to go. And it's that time of year where we kick off big projects and plan for the year and I feel so pointless even getting involved and like what am I even doing here? And on the other side I'm so keen to get to my mat leave so I can do all the mental and physical prep I have planned before baby comes, and I'm frustrated to be wasting time in the office when there's more important things to be doing.

I don't want to go on leave earlier because financially it makes sense for me to keep working and I know waiting until 38w I'll get extra time at home with baby the later I start my leave, which I'll appreciate this time next year. But 3 more weeks seems like an eternity.

Anyone else feeling the same? Any tips?

CharXo · 05/01/2024 20:03

@CareBear17 me too!! I just want to know!!

@LavenderSweetPea I feel this too. There is plenty of work for me to do still but I’m literally counting down the days. I’m so exhausted by the end of the day but like you I’m wanting to work as late as possible to have as much time off afterwards as possible. I’ve got 18.5 working days left.. and counting!

Ch49091 · 05/01/2024 20:06

Has anyone had painful braxton hicks that don't ease with paracetamol, and if so what did you try that worked to help with the pain? Could you please offer tips/advice, it's deffo BH as no regularity but it hurts, has been going for days and along with SPD/PGP, I'm just absolutely drained now and struggling 😭

Ch49091 · 05/01/2024 20:07

@Shrillwaffle I'm so sorry for your previous loss but over the moon for you meeting your little one soon! Bet you're counting down the days!

Ch49091 · 05/01/2024 20:10

Sugarplumw · 05/01/2024 17:03

Has anyone been losing parts of their mucus plug every day?

I have, for almost a week now. (TMI!) Was much larger and stringier today, but I think they regenerate as time goes on? I'm sure I've read that on here

anony1111 · 05/01/2024 20:32

@CharXo I wouldn't worry too much until you have had the scan. I think the fundal height measurement isn't very accurate at all, especially if it's not the same midwife doing it each time. I haven't seen my midwife since 28 weeks but at that appointment I was measuring 35 weeks!!! She didn't seem bothered and said she will see what I'm measuring at my next appointment when I'm 34 weeks before going for a growth scan. Even then the growth scans are never accurate either.
When is your growth scan?

CharXo · 05/01/2024 20:42

@anony1111 it’s been the same midwife throughout all my (4) appointments. She said the hospital should phone Monday/Tuesday to go in for the scan. I don’t have a chart in my notes and I don’t have this badger notes thing that everyone else seems to have so I can’t go back and look as it was just on the midwifes screen ☹️

amyg1985 · 05/01/2024 20:55

I've also had growth scans because my fundal height measurement was ridiculously big, @CharXo

On my scans I'm measuring 75th percentile and all is absolutely fine. I'm sure you'll be fine too.

I really don't think the tape measure method is accurate. However, it's been nice to see baby again so don't mind having the scans.

Sunshineclouds11 · 05/01/2024 21:03

@LavenderSweetPea Yes!!!
Cannot be arsed at all with work! Also don't go till end of Jan.
Thankfully I can work from home but my heads just not there.
Wish I could bring leave forward but I know I'll regret it when it comes to going back.

CharXo · 05/01/2024 21:04

@amyg1985 thank you 😀 fingers crossed it’ll be ok. I am looking forward to seeing him as I haven’t had any scans since my 20week one so it’ll be nice to see him again
