Midwife gave me some sterilised plastic cups.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 25/01/2024 11:12

I lose count of how many times now 😄

novamama · 25/01/2024 12:02

I also go to pee about 3-4 times/ night. It's a whole process of bum wiggling so that I don't feel like I'm disintegrating. It feels like the flow needs to find its way gently or it's so painful! Not UTI painful, just everything is so crammed..

Cheetocat · 25/01/2024 12:48

I'm waking every 1.5 to 3 hours to pee and it's taking me ages to fall back to sleep. I've had to put on a podcast the past couple of nights to stop my mind from racing.

redxlondon · 25/01/2024 13:46

I try to have about 3-4 wees within 30 minutes before I go to sleep at 10pm. Hardly anything comes out but just try to completely empty my bladder. Then I’m up once in the night about 2am, until I wake at 6ish.

mummylove24 · 25/01/2024 13:51

I go night pee maybe 4 times and daytime almost every hour, or when she moving on my bladder and then barely anything comes out. Another odd thing (Sorry TMI) when I wipe, I end up peeing more so weird so I have to wait a bit to make sure it’s all out! 😂

Clueless13 · 25/01/2024 14:37

My stomach is feeling extra tight today, it’s just been tight pretty much all day and baby’s movements aren’t as strong than normal - I’m not getting any cramping or anything and no fluid loss - not sure if it’s just BH??😩

msp2023 · 25/01/2024 14:45

@Clueless13 I keep getting the same symptoms too! I'm desperate to see some kind of mucus plug or waters leaking but nada 😩
I can't tell if it's BH or just baby's back making my stomach hard.

Cheetocat · 25/01/2024 15:21

It's taking all of my willpower to not break into the isotonic drinks I bought for labour. When my mind gets set on something I can't shake it. 🤣

Meeting · 25/01/2024 15:24

I'm doing about 3-4 wees a night now, up until a week ago it was only 1! I don't check the time when I get up as if I know it's nearly morning I know I won't fall back to sleep so no idea how long in-between each time.

Is/has anyone having a sweep? I've got one booked in for next Thursday!

anony1111 · 25/01/2024 15:30

I have been back in for monitoring due to reduced movements this afternoon. The CTG seems all ok and I have my scan tomorrow thankfully. This boy is keeping me on my toes already!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/01/2024 16:07

@Clueless13 and @msp2023 I think I've been having the same - was Googling today to see whether it's contractions or stretching baby movements. It hurts and my stomach goes tight. I can feel a slight foot poking out near my ribs when it happens also, so I'm not sure.

I also did a lot of expressing colostrum in my lunch break today and that made the baby go a bit wild movements wise and cramping. Had that happened to anyone else?

@Meeting don't think my trust offers them til later, although I've a scan tomorrow to see how big baby has got, so if I am induced next week hopefully I'll get a sweep beforehand.

Kelb79 · 25/01/2024 16:11

woohooo!! Had 36 week growth scan today and baby has FINALLY turned 🥳🥳
measuring 6lb 8oz 😳 which seems sooo big with 4 weeks still to go!! 🤣 definitely got a chunker on the way!!

im up 3/4 times to pee in the first hour after I go to bed (I usually stay awake reading until I’ve got through this bit! 😏) then at least another 3 times through the rest of the night 😐 driving me crazy!!

PeeBeee · 25/01/2024 16:18

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 last week I was leaking colostrum so took out a syringe and tried seeing what I could get which lead to big leaks all day and cramping so I stopped as I am not 36 weeks till thisTuesday and will start again then but yes, baby was going mad, I was cramping and leaking like crazy but not leaked or cramped since stopping!

LavenderSweetPea · 25/01/2024 16:29

Thanks everyone for the nighttime pee info! Glad it seems my new 'schedule' isn't unusual. Saves me going to the doctor for a UTI test!

Ebonythoughts · 25/01/2024 16:40

Had my final growth scan at 38 +3 today and baby is low down but no one told me if she’s engaged or not. Weighing at a healthy 3kg which has put my mind at ease… still having irregular contractions, pressure down below and back pain and have been losing my mucus plug for the past 3 days.

Praying my water just breaks or there is a more obvious sign because I’m focusing on every little thing now and stressing myself out 🙈 keep telling myself she’ll come when she’s ready but these cramps and contractions are giving me false hope that something might progress and then it doesn’t 🥺

Sugarplumw · 25/01/2024 16:49

@Ebonythoughts I feel exactly the same and it's getting me down at times because it's so hard to tell what is truly labour starting

babythreeincoming · 25/01/2024 16:53

Yay @Kelb79! That's great news 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hankthehonk · 25/01/2024 16:56

Woohoo @Kelb79 great news your baby has turned too!

babythreeincoming · 25/01/2024 16:59

@Hankthehonk Do you feel like baby has moved for you? I still have a breech boy 🙄 I was in triage yesterday after high blood pressure at my community midwife appointment! All is fine...

Roll on Monday 🙏🏼

amyg1985 · 25/01/2024 18:00

Congrats @Kelb79 - pleased your baby has behaved themselves too.

@Ebonythoughts - I was told at my growth scan yesterday that they can't tell whether baby is engaged from a scan. They have to feel your tummy. Did they do that for you?

Ebonythoughts · 25/01/2024 18:19

@Sugarplumw yeah it gets frustrating but have to keep reminding ourselves that we don’t have long to go.

@amyg1985 yes they said the same to me, I just won’t see my community midwife for two more weeks is baby isn’t here by there so have no way to know if she’s engaged or not.

Mummapenguin20 · 25/01/2024 18:25

Have any of you ladies had gd in previous pregnancy’s and can tell me what post birth looks like. I’ve not been told any form of after birth plan at all x

amyg1985 · 25/01/2024 18:39

I didn't have GD in a previous pregnancy but I have been told for this one that they will test baby's blood sugars in 24 hours after birth and, if ok, we can go home. If not, they will likely put baby on a drip to help them level out. But to expect to stay in for 24 hours.

No more testing for us after birth. However, your GP should refer you for a blood test 6 weeks after birth to check how you're getting on/whether you might be developing type 2 diabetes.

If you're diet controlled, I'm not sure all trusts will bother testing baby's blood sugars. Shocking that no one has told you!

Mummapenguin20 · 25/01/2024 18:45

@amyg1985 thank you I’m at 35 weeks and having a few tightnings. Gunna call midwife tomorrow I think see what she says. I’m diet controlled so hopfully baby will be ok. 24 hours isn’t as bad as I was exspecting x
