Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

I am already 33, I will be turning 34 in July. 😩

Wanderlust86 · 17/01/2024 08:16

Congrats to everyone who has had their scans! Hopefully lots more to come soon 😊

I'm 7+1 and have my booking in appointment today. The midwife said she will book me in for a scan at the appointment which will be between 12-14 weeks. 14 weeks seems late for a first scan. Not sure I can hold out until then.

I'm still trying to be cautious until I have a scan but can't stop myself thinking about baby names. I have a list on the go already. Boys names are much harder than girl names I think.

hol92 · 17/01/2024 09:21

So I didn't have any of the boots early detection tests left so did these two cheapies the stick isn't too bad but the strip is so light but they are both using the same urine abd both pick up 20hcg so am a little confused!

HolyMoly24 · 17/01/2024 09:39

@hol92 I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have some cheap little stick type tests and the lines are pretty light on those despite clear blue, boots and a digital all being very clear positives.

Ditto!

Labyrinth86 · 17/01/2024 09:49

Wow! You're all spring chickens as far as I'm concerned. I'm 37, will be 38 when the little one arrives and I had my first at 35 😊

MrsM89 · 17/01/2024 09:52

I'm 34, was 26 when I had my 1st and 30 for my 2nd.

@hol92 dont worry I wouldn't compare different brands as all are different if they are 20hcg and you didn't get a like on a 20 before thats a great sign. It's a slow process.
Xx

siobhanmt247 · 17/01/2024 10:00

@Labyrinth86 im exactly the same as you :)

Labyrinth86 · 17/01/2024 10:36

@siobhanmt247 Yay!!! Good to know I'm not alone :)

Sarah452 · 17/01/2024 10:42

Congrats to all the recent positives! I’m still only 4 weeks tomorrow.. wishing the next 3 weeks away so I can go and get an early scan!!

i’m also part of the 33 club!

@siobhanmt247 im tracking my progression too and find with the cheaper tests you can’t truly compare until it’s fully dried out. Also you can add them to the premom app and see the score rise each day which is nice!

Sarah452 · 17/01/2024 10:45

Just to add.. I was very lucky in my first pregnancy and didn’t really have any symptoms, the ones I did get only lasted for about a week and then would disappear. I honestly didn’t feel pregnant for much of my pregnancy - even in the third tri if I didn’t have a huge bump I wouldn’t have believed it! That little one now keeps me up all night 😆

MudandMoet · 17/01/2024 10:48

@Labyrinth86 and all young chickadees I'm 44 (just - and a very young and veh veh cool 44!) so you're all a lot younger than me. The ladies at EPU and midwife dismiss it if I ever mention it so please don't worry about ages at all 😘

Hey @Wanderlust86 phew ...I was just thinking yesterday I'd not seen you around here for a while so was hoping all okay! 14 weeks does seem a long time, I've done the booking in appointment and had one scan and have my next a week today but my official NHS appointment came through yesterday and that works out at nearly 13 weeks! Luckily EPU at my local hospital are really quite good and accommodating else I'd be more than little annoyed because it does seem such a wait 😫

VT6 · 17/01/2024 10:52

I couldn’t wait any longer and took my last CB digital this morning. Got my 3+ weeks 🥹 it’s helped the anxiety a little bit!

Xur · 17/01/2024 11:07

@Wanderlust86 yeah the baby names are going to be a problem in my household. You see, myself and my partner, we are of different nationalities. So that by default means that there will have to be two names, one from my country and the other one from his. That’s one thing but the words I like that are from his country, he doesn’t like any of them. And all the names he proposed not even from his country, even if he’s looking at international ones, I find all those really lame..so am really not sure where this is going.
My parents had a similar situation with me, they couldn’t agree on a name, but I have an older brother and they asked him to pick a name for me and he named me after his school crush! Lol! I got no one to offer to pick a name unless we use a name randomizer

doitjustice95 · 17/01/2024 11:13

Hello and congrats! @Wanderlust86

I hope the book in appointment goes well, please do let me know what to expect as I have mine on the 2nd Feb for my first.

I think I resonate a lot with you about not trying to be too excited, I had to stop myself from saying to my husband “shall we get clothes sorted?”.
But it’s so hard not to! I’m 5-6 weeks so just a week or so behind you.

I would never have thought I’d be entering into a Mamas&Papa’s and picking up clothes for my own baby, it’s really surreal at the moment.

siobhanmt247 · 17/01/2024 11:16

@Sarah452 i did not know that, thank you :)

doitjustice95 · 17/01/2024 11:18

@VT6 Congratulations on the 3+!
I couldn’t wait any longer and tested on Monday and got my 3+ too and felt alot relieved after that and have abit more trust in my body doing it’s thing now.

siobhanmt247 · 17/01/2024 11:45

What day is everyone getting their 3+? I got my 2-3 last Thursday at 13dpo. Do you think I can try at 5 weeks? I know it's not a given but will stop testing after that

VT6 · 17/01/2024 11:51

@siobhanmt247 I’m 5 weeks 4 days today
@doitjustice95 thats exactly how I feel now! Just need to get past the 7 week mark and I’ll calm down 🤣

hol92 · 17/01/2024 12:00

I think I'm the earliest on in the group at 4 weeks it feels like nothing 🙈 I downloaded the pregnancy plus app as like the week by week updates, hate how much I wish the weeks away with this early stage! I'm going to go for an early scan too if all goes well, I did with my son and it make me feel so much better :) I think I'll feel better next week when I'm a week past my missed period - then I'll make another little milestone to concentrate on haha!

VT6 · 17/01/2024 12:08

@hol92 don’t worry about that, I found out the day after my period was due - I was convinced I wasn’t pregnant so was very shocked 🤣 so I know how you feel about literally wishing away the weeks 🫣

Labyrinth86 · 17/01/2024 12:33

@hol92 I am only 3+4 :) I'm due 28/09/2024

emmatcc1 · 17/01/2024 12:47

Just a quick reminder this thread will soon be closed so make sure to switch to part 2 after.

I'm only either 4+1 or 4+3 and every day is dragging. Going to book an early scan for 7 weeks and it feels miles off I wish there was something to focus on now! In America they get so many blood test early on I wish we could get that

I'm 4 weeks today too.

The first 12 weeks definitely feel like the longest.

The Ovia Pregnancy app is good too, I used it with my first. It shows you how big their little hands and feet actually are (when they have them!)
