Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

I’m 7 weeks today🎉 As each week passes I feel more relaxed. Baby is already the size of a blueberry lol. I’m going baby clothes shopping today to feed my excitement.

Hi everyone.

I've tested positive this morning despite being amazed as first took 3 years to conceive and we haven't used any contraception in the 2 .5 years since his arrival and we just decided to see what happens but not actively try.

Wow. I've just turned 40 so wasn't in the plan and I'm currently wondering how on Earth I'll cope but millions do so I'm sure I will to!

doitjustice95 · 15/01/2024 10:33

A huge congratulations @emmatcc1 !!

Super glad to hear!! ❤️❤️

Xur · 15/01/2024 10:39

@emmatcc1
I actually have developed a liking for apple fizzy water. Yesterday I bought a can of it just to try and thought it was the most amazing thing. I also really enjoyed a cup of 7up yesterday. I normally do not like 7up.
Enjoy the clothes shop! I can’t wait to be shopping for cute baby bodies.
My partner wanted to start planning the baby room today and I insisted it’s too early for that. He dragged me into the empty room and described how he imagined it for two kids.

HoneyandSunshine · 15/01/2024 10:40

Have fun @emmatcc1 how exciting! 😍

and welcome @itsmylifeitsnowor 🩷🩷 congratulations! Of course so many others over 40 have managed it, you’ll be absolutely fine. I’ve heard of lots of women in their late 40s having their first babies and going on to have more, so don’t panic xxx

Starlight11111 · 15/01/2024 10:41

Looks like I spoke too soon about the test... in a panic I did another but diluted urine with water and it's the strongest test I've had yet, so maybe hook effect kicking in. Jesus I'm annoying myself and honestly vowing no more tests. I did this second one mostly out of curiosity as I was feeling sick! Top pic was FMU, bottom one diluted on SMU.

@emmatcc1 7 weeks is such a milestone, yaaay!!!

@doitjustice95 so happy for you with the 3+!

I have just been in a&e due to bleeding and whilst my pregnancy test was normal not super strong my blood hcgs are perfect so don’t stress about the tests - especially you @Nic17 🤣😘😘😘!! The lines can be all over the place due to a number of factors. I’m 6w 2d and have my scan Thursday so praying!! Doctor said bleeding is very common at this stage of pregnancy and I don’t have bad cramps so due to my hcg levels no worry atm - how’s everyone feeling? Xx

Starlight11111 · 15/01/2024 11:36

@1111hope I am so glad everything is ok for you and it's not long until your scan now!!!

I promise the testing is behind me, such unnecessary stress this morning, but mostly, I don't have any left 😂😂

1111hope · 15/01/2024 11:39

@Nic17 haha I get why you are but the hook effect you mentioned is definitely a thing as long as you aren’t getting bad cramps or bleeding don’t worry! I’m glad my bleeding at this stage is nothing to worry about hopefully it stops haven’t had any more since this morning and my pregnancy symptoms are still kicking my ass haha xx

cd24x · 15/01/2024 09:42

@Jeyla1230 @Xur I think my taste buds are doing something weird too. Yesterday we went for brunch and I had a fizzy apple juice and it just tasted all kinds of wrong. My shreddies this morning didn't taste quite right either.

@ForeverHopeful67 I am with you on the 2 year old not sleeping. DS was up at around the same time wanting to get into bed with us. It's been like this the last few weeks and we've caved and let him in. But last night I decided to put my foot down. And by put my foot down I mean sitting next to his bed holding his hand until he fell asleep 😂

@Nic17 keeping everything crossed for you

I feel exhausted today. Something twigged over the weekend about getting stuff done around the house in the hopes everything goes smoothly with this pregnancy. So there I was at 9pm last night painting my office, which I am hoping not to have to need in 8 months time, but logic isn't my strongest trait at the moment! 😴

I knew it could do that but I didn't think it will happen to me just yet. Hopefully it's just those two things for you.

Jeyla1230 · 15/01/2024 11:40

Just had phone call my first appointment for the Midwife is next month why does it feel like it is dragging 😩😩😩

VT6 · 15/01/2024 12:16

@Jeyla1230 its the worst feeling ever isn’t it! Time goes slower in pregnancy I’m sure!

Jeyla1230 · 15/01/2024 12:20

VT6 · 15/01/2024 12:16

@Jeyla1230 its the worst feeling ever isn’t it! Time goes slower in pregnancy I’m sure!

It really is, that's exactly what I was thinking

Cat2022 · 15/01/2024 12:30

Iv had pretty constant nagging cramps. They aren’t overly painful but more annoying and making me anxious. This morning I felt like my nausea had gone but it’s just ramping up again now. I think I’m going to book myself in for an early scan in two weeks time to try and calm the anxiety.

siobhanmt247 · 15/01/2024 12:34

I feel far too normal apart from 1 concrete boob. I've decided I'm not going to let the anxiety get to me and keep on training like I have. Just got back from the gym and I feel fine. I know I shouldn't wish to feel sick but I think I hate this more

itsmylifeitsnowor · 15/01/2024 12:36

Has anyone ever flown early on?
I'm 4 weeks I think and I do feel a bit nauseous but obviously know it can change day to day.

I'm going on holiday at the weekend and really nervous that it might make me feel worse. Only a short flight, less than 3 hours.

HolyMoly24 · 15/01/2024 12:39

@siobhanmt247

I had soo much anxiety with my first because I felt completely normal all through first trimester. I booked a reassurance scan at 8 weeks because I just didn't believe there was anything there but the little wriggly bean was there.

So good that you're going to the gym etc. I've just started trying to increase my steps and hoping to start swimming soon.

siobhanmt247 · 15/01/2024 12:50

@HolyMoly24 ooh swimming sounds like it will be so relaxing! I'm tempted to book a private scan but we have an mmc and a lot of uncertainty when we did it with the first pregnancy and I don't think I could go through that again

Xur · 15/01/2024 12:51

@itsmylifeitsnowor
I flew on Saturday as 5 weeks and 6 days. My nausea hasn’t been really bad, I was sick for 2 seconds after having breakfast at the airport (yeah 2 seconds), then I was a bit nauseous when waiting to be let on the plane and when plane was taking off, cos I was sat at the back and tail moves more. But once we achieved the altitude I was fine.
dont worry you’ll be fine.

itsmylifeitsnowor · 15/01/2024 13:20

Thanks @Xur I think it'll be more stress than anything navigating the airport with a toddler who had to get up at 4am

MrsB2019x · 15/01/2024 13:23

@1111hope Glad everything is okay for you!

@Nic17 Bloody hell that’s a dye stealer and a half, step away from the tests girrrrrrl!

Feeling nauseous today, how do those of you with a toddler manage to be a present parent with nausea? It’s been manageable today but I have struggled at points!

Got my early scan tomorrow and anxiety is creeping in about that too which I don’t think helps

Cat2022 · 15/01/2024 13:41

@itsmylifeitsnowor i flew around 9 weeks with my daughter and my nausea and sickness was bad. Highly recommend polo mints they were the only thing that helped but managed to survive the full flight there and back with no sick!

Xur · 15/01/2024 13:45

@MrsB2019x
I too have a scan tomorrow, tbh today I’ve been absolutely useless, I’ve been in bed all day. I don’t want to do anything. But had no nausea today, but also no will to eat. Silent anxiety is through the roof.

MrsB2019x · 15/01/2024 13:52

@Xur Hope it goes well 🩷 what time is yours? Mine is at 8:30 so I don’t have to wait around worrying all day!

Lemonyfire · 15/01/2024 14:21

@itsmylifeitsnowor I flew at 4 weeks- we went skiing! ( of course I had to watch 😂) it was fine the only rule is after 34 weeks I believe.

@SouthwestSis how are you doing today?
