Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

@siobhanmt247 🤣🤣 how are they looking?! I was defo the same with my first - I found out late this time round so the first time I tested I already is a dye stealer and 3+ on digital! So trying not to test anymore 🤞

@MudandMoet haha never ending isn't it! I'm usually one to have a drink if I go out with friends so I'm just trying to avoid them atm! Yeah I also find if I'm hungry it makes the nausea worse! Glad you aren't feeling too bad though 😊

Congrats @Lisswiss24 !

siobhanmt247 · 14/01/2024 18:08

@ForeverHopeful67 still dark. It's my second so I should know better. I must've spend about £50 on tests now but I think I will calm down once Ive got none in the house

VT6 · 14/01/2024 18:10

@ForeverHopeful67 if you’ve got any plans and are expected to be having a drink, if the designated driver excuse doesn’t work the non alcoholic gin with a flavoured tonic works a treat - you can’t tell the difference once it’s in the glass 🤣

I’m also using dry January as my excuse right now, February I’m just going to hibernate 🫣

SouthwestSis · 14/01/2024 18:16

Well I'm glad I didn't waste more money doing another test today, I've started to have really heavy cramping pain and feel sure bleeding will start soon.
Best of luck to the rest of you in your pregnancy journeys, I'm off to have a glass of wine and eat some chocolate!

Xur · 14/01/2024 19:30

My taste is definitely changing, I’ve found I no longer like parsley, today I had a whole meal in a restaurant with a desert and on the main meal even though it was tasty I tasted something through it, I had no idea what that was. The same way I can taste coriander through any dish even a pinch of it has been added. It was like when you’re sick, you have lost the taste or it’s coming back after not having taste and stuff tastes weird.
cigarette smoke smells of vomit to me now. I’m so relieved I quit smoking all together before I got pregnant, too bad my partner didn’t.
Also in the restaurant it was like another stomach opened up for me, I ate so much food and even though I was full…I did not feel full. Nausea today has been minimal.

ForeverHopeful67 · 14/01/2024 19:38

@siobhanmt247 great news they're still dark 😊

@VT6 great idea!! January hopefully
shouldnt be too much of an issue for me, February I have a birthday almost every day in the first two weeks 🫣 but hopefully by mid feb I should have my 12 weeks scan! When will you be 12 weeks?

@SouthwestSis I'm sorry you're going through this 😔 please don't give up hope just yet, if you've still not had bleeding there's every chance things can still be ok! - I've had mild cramps for the last two days!( stressing me out but trying my best
Not to look into it too much)

Xur · 14/01/2024 19:43

Also, today we were at a ski resort, historically we would be going skiing today, but because of me we didn’t ski, instead we took our niece to have fun with the snow sleigh. Normally we do like proper skiing, in the mountains so the chance of fall is quite real. Normally on a ski day I fall like atleast 10 times per day (because of speed and not having the right circumstances to brake correctly) In the ski resort there were two dogs one was a sausage dog, and the other one was collie, both these dogs belong to the ski resort.
the collie came up to me a curiously sniffed my crotch, he didn’t sniff anyone’s else’s crotch , he didn’t sniff any other people, just me. When he did I couldn’t help but wonder, did the dog just smell my pregnancy out? As far as I am aware dogs are known to do that.

@Lisswiss24 congrats! I'll see if I can get hold of the FB link for you. Is 18/09 based on your LMP?

Juno231 · 14/01/2024 19:53

@SouthwestSis hopefully it's not what you think! Cramping can be perfectly normal

Hi all, I think I can join the Sept 24 club.

My tests are light but progressing slowly. I'm 3w 4d roughly.

I already have a 4 year old little girl.

Not really having many symptoms yet but with my first I didn't have any at all for the whole first trimester. I just felt completely normal. Hoping for some though just to make it feel more real!

VT6 · 14/01/2024 20:02

@ForeverHopeful67 I think it’ll be at the end of February/ beginning of March.
I’m 5 + 1 weeks today, got my booking in appt 29th Jan (which feels a lifetime away!)

the none alcoholic Prosecco is nice aswell x

MudandMoet · 14/01/2024 20:21

Hi New Ladies - congratulations!

@Xur your post made me chuckle! Had visions of the dog at the ski resort around you 😂 good decision not to ski if you're prone to a few falls just to be sure. I'm jealous of you up in the ski resorts though, we've not been since Covid.

@SouthwestSis really hope it's just bad cramping/implantation pains and nothing more xx

@ForeverHopeful67 same here! We're out next weekend both nights with different friends, luckily they both drove last time we went out so I'm designated driver this time 🤦🏼‍♀️

Xur · 14/01/2024 20:28

@MudandMoet
I am lucky enough to have a holiday home 1 hour from a resort each way. This is where we go for European holidays. Originally this was supposed to be a ski holiday, but along came the third tagging so …😂
you should definitely go somewhere, before the baby comes, cos after the baby it will be difficult to travel for some time. It’s good just for the change of scenery plus UK weather is rubbish not this or that. Just puddles

Lisswiss24 · 14/01/2024 21:23

@Juno231 yes, LMP was mid December, NHS calc says around Sep 20th, my flo app says 18th 😊

MudandMoet · 14/01/2024 21:36

@Xur oh wow that's lovely. It must be nice to just nip off like that. We're farmers (livestock and arable) so holidays are few and far between Im afraid. We have a few bits booked but can never go for long.

Starlight11111 · 14/01/2024 22:02

From experience does anyone have any advice on when is the right time to book an early scan for?

I want to leave it long enough so that I hopefully see a heartbeat and soon enough that I don't go out of my mind.

By my dates I'm 5+4/5 today but I could be a few days out as I ovulated a couple days later than usual.

Would 7ish weeks be a good time?

1111hope · 14/01/2024 22:18

@Nic17 im having mine Thursday at 6w 5d - that’s what the hospital recommended :) xx

Jeyla1230 · 14/01/2024 22:18

Well I now don't like ham or red onion 😂I had it and it made me feel like I wanted to vom. Had no issues before but now I'm pregnant seems like it doesn't agree with me. Lemon drizzle I love at the moment 😂

ForeverHopeful67 · 15/01/2024 02:50

@Nic17 if you can try to hold out until you're sure you're Atleast 7 weeks. I thought I was 8 weeks when I had my first scan, but when I went they could only see the yolk sac and said I was around 5-6 ( which then sent me spiralling until my next appointment!) then at almost 8 weeks we could see a lovely wiggly baby with a strong heartbeat 😊 so if you aren't sure on dates, try and err on the side of caution and hold out a little longer if you can to save yourself the stress!

@MudandMoet phew that's lucky!! My husband isn't a huge drinker so he skyways usually drives us, I think he will just have to fancy drinking more in the next few weeks 🤣

@VT6 eeek, that's exciting, it will come round so quick! I haven't called my maternity unit yet - should probably get on that really 🤣

Having a two year old and being pregnant isn't for the light hearted 🫣 she's currently awake and I'm knackered praying she'll go back off asap!

HolyMoly24 · 15/01/2024 07:16

@Nic17 With my first we had one at 8 weeks and we were able to see a little kidney bean inside the sac and the heartbeat it was lovely and definitely provided the reassurance I needed.

VT6 · 15/01/2024 08:28

@ForeverHopeful67 going to try and stay really busy so the end of the month hurries up and then it’s countdown to 12 weeks!
I do not envy any of you that already have a little sleep stealer!
The nausea hit me this morning and I feel like my boobs have turned to cement they are sooo heavy! (I just keep telling myself all these symptoms are a good thing as I feel pregnant 😅)

Starlight11111 · 15/01/2024 08:31

Thanks ladies for all the advice about early scans. I've actually woken up this morning and my sore boobs have virtually disappeared. I took a test and it's lighter than it was last week. Going to wait and see for now

VT6 · 15/01/2024 08:47

@Nic17 fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼go easy on yourself the next few days 🫶

cd24x · 15/01/2024 09:42

@Jeyla1230 @Xur I think my taste buds are doing something weird too. Yesterday we went for brunch and I had a fizzy apple juice and it just tasted all kinds of wrong. My shreddies this morning didn't taste quite right either.

@ForeverHopeful67 I am with you on the 2 year old not sleeping. DS was up at around the same time wanting to get into bed with us. It's been like this the last few weeks and we've caved and let him in. But last night I decided to put my foot down. And by put my foot down I mean sitting next to his bed holding his hand until he fell asleep 😂

@Nic17 keeping everything crossed for you

I feel exhausted today. Something twigged over the weekend about getting stuff done around the house in the hopes everything goes smoothly with this pregnancy. So there I was at 9pm last night painting my office, which I am hoping not to have to need in 8 months time, but logic isn't my strongest trait at the moment! 😴

doitjustice95 · 15/01/2024 09:58

Hi everyone,

I think last week was possibly one of the longest weeks of my life but I’ve made it!

A little update from me, my clear blue test shows 3+ weeks today so I’m happy things are progressing. Was a little nervous to test this morning as I had some light yellow/light brown discharge over the weekend. But I assume it’s normal, however will keep an eye on this.

Not sure if anyone else is in the same boat as me waiting for the 8 week mark to pass and hopefully feel abit more relieved at that point?

My current symptoms are, feeling gassy, and having odd days where I’m really unwell with a cough and sniffly nose but completely fine the next.
