Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

@Nic17 it sounds familiar from last time! Sounds ovary related maybe based on location? Don't overthink it though!

emmatcc1 · 12/01/2024 22:28

@Nic17 I’m having pains everywhere on and off. They switch from back, hips, thighs and abdomen. Most likely from everything softening and moving around to prepare for a baby.

Catrinka · 12/01/2024 23:27

I am the same!
don’t remember this much pain with my first.
I just couldn’t get comfy today with back and side pain.

Xur · 13/01/2024 01:26

I have some pains all the time, they do not feel violent or dangerous though.
Ive had lower back pain, pulling sensations, electric sensations in the coochie, dull pain on the sides. I feel like these feelings are part of my personality now for the time being haha
I have to fly today morning, I’m already overthinking the feeling of nausea at airport security ques.

RedFox24 · 13/01/2024 04:48

Hi all, I’m 6 weeks today due 7th Sept. I’ve had severe cramping all night, it started as I went to bed and has now woken me up at 4am. No signs of bleeding yet but very scared it’s miscarriage. I have been suffering from constipation, so I don’t know if it’s related! Hoping it’s trapped wind or something 🙈😅Anyone else experiencing anything similar ? Not sure if it’s worth a call to the GP or not

rupertbear91 · 13/01/2024 06:15

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me joining. I got my BFP yesterday and now moved into the anxious I hope everything runs smoothly state!

Hey @Juno231Wink x

SouthwestSis · 13/01/2024 06:46

Hi @RedFox24 sorry to hear about your cramping.
Constipation is so common in pregnancy as the progesterone makes our bowels relax and move more slowly. Really important you do something about it though and look after your pelvic floor!
I use fybogel sachets that you mix into water along with senna which I take one of before bed when I need it. You can also buy movicol over the counter at the pharmacy.
Hope it's nothing more than needing a poo for you!

SouthwestSis · 13/01/2024 06:50

Welcome also @rupertbear91 and @MrsTwentyNine there are plenty of us here who've been through previous losses, you're not alone and we know all of the feelings you're feeling right now!
One day at a time.

Cat2022 · 13/01/2024 06:59

@RedFox24 i definitely notice my cramping being bowel related a lot of times. I have been upping my fibre and eating whole foods to keep things moving. I find it’s worse in first trimester and last so best to try and keep ahead of it.

Xur · 13/01/2024 07:27

@RedFox24
i wouldn’t worry about spotting.
really that whole region now is so mega sensitive in general. Progesterone causes constipation, constipation makes it slower for gas to pass, bladder fills up at its own speed, full bladder presses on intestines, you end up having bowel pain as well as trying to not piss yourself.
true story that was myself on the way to airport today.

Starlight11111 · 13/01/2024 08:14

@Juno231 @emmatcc1 @Catrinka thanks :)

It's not concerning me too much as it's on/off and more of an ache than pain. For the first week or so I was having cramps in different places so just found it strange that this was in one spot all day. Pregnancy is wild!

MudandMoet · 13/01/2024 10:58

Hi New ladies 💕

@RedFox24 I'm slightly constipated too, was really bad last week but seems to have gotten a little better this week - I'm 6+6
Obviously as you've mentioned them @SouthwestSis the Fybrogel sachets are safe for pregnant women? I need to nip to boots later so will have a look at those.

I need to check my vitamins too as what the MW wrote down is a lot higher dose than I have so I just want to double check what's right before I start shovelling more down my neck!

@Xur hope your flight went well and no sickness issues.

MrsTwentyNine · 13/01/2024 11:11

Hi @MudandMoet folic acid 5mg is what I need as my BMI >30 - usual dose is only 400 micrograms!

MudandMoet · 13/01/2024 11:33

MrsTwentyNine · 13/01/2024 11:11

Hi @MudandMoet folic acid 5mg is what I need as my BMI >30 - usual dose is only 400 micrograms!

Ahhh this helps thank you! I'm a smidge under 70kg and 5ft 5 so I'm wondering if that's why then. She didn't say why but I've got it written down here .... just seems such a big jump from 400mcg to 5mg.

cd24x · 13/01/2024 11:52

Morning all and welcome to the newbies!

@Xur hope your flight was OK and you weren't queueing for too long.

@Nic17 has the ache subsided now? I had really really bad aching in my back last night, which made sleeping a nightmare (along with the toddler who woke up at midnight and wouldn't go back to sleep until 2am!) Today my back is fine like nothing happened. So weird how these aches and pains come and go at random!

@MudandMoet I'm on the 5mg of folic acid due to high bmi and was for my last 2 pregnancies. I'm wondering if I can still take a normal pregnancy vitamin which still contains the 400mcg folic acid. Is there such thing as too much folic acid?

I feel exhausted today, mostly because of toddler being awake at ridiculous time last night. Annoyingly I was so tired when I woke up that I forgot to collect my FMU to do my CB digital. So did it with 2nd urine and it came up 1-2 weeks (was hoping 2-3). But I am only 4+1 today so might still be a little early. Will keep testing with cheapies every few days for line progression and hope for a 3+ in a week or so.

emmatcc1 · 13/01/2024 12:08

@MudandMoet @cd24x My prenatal has 600mcg but my mw recommends 800mcg to all women. And the dose is even higher for those who already gave birth to a baby with spina bifida.

Hello everyone ❤️

I’ll be 6 weeks on Tuesday 🤰 took a test last Friday to a very front line (completely unexpected and out of the blue - almost missed it!), took 3 more on Sunday and it’s confirmed. First midwife appointment 2nd Feb. This will be my (and our!) first baby.

I’m hypothyroid and I’ve noticed swollen fingers already (engagement ring might have to be ditched 🙃) and lots of fluid retention on my stomach. I’m tired and a bit queasy, my boobs now have their own gravity but I’m feeling so good otherwise!

Congratulations everyone 🥰 ❤️ what’s everyone’s stories? First babies? Trying for a while? Anyone got an inkling they’re carrying girls/boys?

WolfMother326 · 13/01/2024 12:09

@MudandMoet and @cd24x I take a 5mg folic acid tab that was prescribed to me and I was told to take it on top of my normal prenatal vitamin that also has some. I have crohns disease and there can be problems with folic acid absorption.

emmatcc1 · 13/01/2024 12:11

@Hlymamma Hello and congrats! For me it was quite a long journey to conceive this baby.
Me and my partner are both leaning towards boy, maybe it’s because we really want our first to be a boy.

OP posts:
SouthwestSis · 13/01/2024 12:22

@MudandMoet yeah the fybogel sachets are completely pregnancy safe.
I'm also taking 5mg folic acid because of gestational diabetes in my previous pregnancy.

I'm still a bit nervous to register for the midwife after my previous loss, will do my clearblue tomorrow and see if my weeks have increased, I'm 5+1 by dates today but am suspecting less as cleablue only said 1-2 weeks 2 days ago

Lemonyfire · 13/01/2024 12:31

Morning everyone
hope you’re all well!

@Hlymamma congratulations!!

my heart rate stayed really really high overnight going up to 130 just walking to the toilet which felt really horrible, have an under active thyroid and when I found out I was pregnant my GP upped my dose before my blood test- turns out my levels were fine but I stayed on my high dose, so I think I’m taking too high a dose hence the really high heart rate, so I called GP today she sent me to hospital ( which was completely unnecessary as just need a blood test!!!) but because I’m pregnant they’ve taken it more seriously.

so I’ve been here 3 hours have had 3 ECGs everything’s fine apart from tachycardic and have had my bloods taken. I feel dreadful like I’m wasting all their time and keep having to say this to the staff who have all been lovely!

HoneyandSunshine · 13/01/2024 12:38

Hey everyone, sorry I’m a bit confused, can you confirm what vitamins you’re taking?

I’m taking the pregnacare ones, do I need to take additional folic acid just to be sure?
I’m also taking additional vitamin D, additional iron, and magnesium glycinate at night (I’ve always taken this to help my anxiety/sleep and studies online look like it’s safe). Do I need to be thinking about anything else? Any tips or advice welcome! 🩷

I had pre-eclampsia first pregnancy so I know I’ll probably have to take aspirin at some point, as I did this with my second pregnancy.

siobhanmt247 · 13/01/2024 12:39

@SouthwestSis im the same. Not registering until I get to 6 weeks. I'm so nervous about a chemical

Starlight11111 · 13/01/2024 12:40

@cd24x it has actually subsided a bit now, I think it might have been trapped wind related 🙈 and I'm glad your back is better today! I had that about 5 days ago and then it just went.

@Hlymamma welcome & congratulations!! First time baby for me, but third pregnancy. What is your due date?

@Lemonyfire ahhh bless you for being so nice to the nurses. You're in the right place!
