Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

@HoneyandSunshine I think it’s just that we tried for about 18/19 months without a hint of a line, and my previous 2 and miscarriage were Conceived so quickly so I think resigned myself to it not happening so maybe I’m still in a bit of shock! Plus the fear we waited too long and it will rock the boat too much!

WolfMother326 · 10/01/2024 21:19

I haven't been feeling sick although I know it's coming. I'm pretty consistent around 6-7 weeks, so right on my holiday to see my family! Oh well I have gotten through it before. I'm already feeling food aversion, like chocolate sounds horrific.

@Lemonyfire so glad you got your 3+! Woo

@Chaz693 it's really good you have other mums around who you can get advice from.

@SunshineAndRainbows6 sorry to hear about your loss but congratulations sending you all the positivity :)

@HoneyandSunshine to be honest I got to experience most of my pregnancy with no anxiety whatsoever about what was to come and in the early days she was so poorly. She will be so excited she loves babies! The nipt is a blood test that can show lots of medical conditions I think? Defo including Down syndrome although I still don’t think it’s completely accurate. Glad to hear the age gap works well for you! What will be the age gap between this baby and the middle?

Ah yes! I think I did have this. Is it universally offered at all hospitals or do you need to opt in/opt out? And oh bless her soul 🥺 it’s heart wrenching when your baby is poorly and you feel helpless.

My eldest was born unresponsive and had to be resuscitated and taken straight to nicu. Laying there watching them breathing into him and then calling the crash team 😣 Then, once he was in nicu, they wheeled me to the postnatal ward to “sleep”. Sleep was the last thing I could do. I didn’t meet him until the next day. I had a catheter, bleeding out constantly and could barely walk from my epidural but just had to drag myself to the next floor to try meet him and hold him through his wires and feeding tubes. He has suspected sepsis and so did I so we had treatment in separate wards. I found the whole experience really traumatic.

When #3 is born, my youngest will be 2 and my eldest 4. So 34 months between 2 and 3, and 22 months between 1 and 2. What will be the age gap between yours? ❤️❤️

This baby has been keeping you on your toes for a reason I bet. They’ll come out like “boom; I was worth the wait mum 😍💥”

But your feelings of overwhelm are totally valid. Sounds like your head’s been in a spin, I don’t blame you, but I reckon the ape gap will work for you all and once they arrive, it’ll be like they’ve always been there 🫶🏻

Lemonyfire · 10/01/2024 22:05

@HoneyandSunshine the positive validating words I needed to hear, thanks lovely xxx

TTCnewbies · 10/01/2024 22:40

I've just been to the loo and there was quite a bit of bright red blood. I feel so worried and sad. Does anyone know if EPU can do anything? I'm 5+1. I feel really crampy too so I am just fearing the worst. My next possible chance will be Friday so I'd be 5+ 3 ish by then.

Anyone experienced this and it gone on to be okay?

Starlight11111 · 10/01/2024 22:45

@TTCnewbies that must be so worrying for you, I am sorry. At 5+4 the same thing happened to me last summer. EPU did agree to scan me despite it being very early. Insist on being seen. Some pregnancies do bleed, so don't lose all hope, but do get seen xxxxx

Lemonyfire · 10/01/2024 22:46

@TTCnewbies oh love I’m sorry to read this, I think you know the answer that none of us can really tell you but want to reassure without giving false hope. I have had it be okay, and also not, you need to get checked out. Hope you’re okay xxxx

TTCnewbies · 10/01/2024 22:48

Thanks both. If they see me, will it be am internal ultrasound? Just preparing myself. I've got to work tomorrow but I'll insist on getting seen on Friday which at least will be a day later. I've put a pad on for overnight as I've no idea if it's going to continue. Terrified but trying to remain hopeful. Thanks for the messages.

HoneyandSunshine · 10/01/2024 22:50

When I bled a little in a previous pregnancy (around 6 weeks - all was well and I reached full term) I went to a walk-in EPU and saw someone same day, do you have one of those? If you presented tomorrow I reckon you’d be quite high on their list to get seen. Some hospitals have pre-booked EPU appointments but it can take a few days to get an appointment. I think if you tell any of them you’re bleeding, I imagine they’ll prioritise you As best as they can according to their system.

Huge handhold for you. I hope it’s just a small, insignificant bleed and nothing serious ❤️

HoneyandSunshine · 10/01/2024 22:51

@TTCnewbies sorry forgot to tag you x

Starlight11111 · 10/01/2024 22:51

@TTCnewbies mine was an internal ultrasound. It wasn't painful at all. Go easy and look after yourself, if it were me I'd be off work, but the distraction might help you xxx

Lemonyfire · 10/01/2024 23:40

@TTCnewbies will be thinking of you. It likely will be an internal ultrasound, not painful, see how you go tonight/tomorrow but may be worth being off work xx

Decaffe · 10/01/2024 23:48

Hello all! I have never posted on this Pregnancy forum before, I usually hang out in Infertility 😁

After a very long journey of unexplained infertility, so many procedures, failed IVF, a diagnosis of complex, deep endometriosis following a laparoscopy, robotic surgery to remove it this summer, being put in medical menopause for six months, and having spoken to my IVF clinic and agreed to transfer an embryo next month….

I got my BFP today ☺️

Complete and utter shock!

emmatcc1 · 10/01/2024 23:53

@TTCnewbies So sorry to hear that. Best to ring EPU and they’ll probably have you come in soon. Definitely an internal ultrasound as it’s too early to properly see what’s going on over the abdomen. 🤞🏻 everything’s okay.

@Decaffe Oh my god I can’t imagine what you’ve been through. Glad that’s over now. Congratulations!!

Xur · 11/01/2024 05:32

good morning,
last week I found out I was pregnant, it was showing 2-3 weeks.
after reading this forum I got inspired to do another test this week to see if my weeks have gone up.
and they have, I have 3+ weeks now.
I guess I can stop testing then. It won’t show me any more weeks than that lol
last night got an extreme hunger about 6 o clock, ended up making soup, I added too much salt to it, afterwards I had a whole liter of water in the evening and surprisingly did not have to travel to toilet every 5 mins. I didn’t even get up at night, not sure where all the water went.

Xur · 11/01/2024 05:33

@Decaffe
congratulations! I’m happy to see all the work you’ve put into this finally pay off.

Decaffe · 11/01/2024 06:49

Thank you for your kind words @emmatcc1 and @Xur.

Unfortunately it seems like the dream is over before it started; my lines today (11dpo) are much more faint than they were yesterday. I have been on the boards long enough to know what it means.

At least it’s further than we’ve got before and I am able to go ahead with embryo transfer next month.

Take care everyone.

MrsB2019x · 11/01/2024 06:49

@TTCnewbies Sending you a handhold. Definitely call EPU today, they will see you given you are bleeding. It would be an internal ultrasound but they are fine, not as uncomfortable as a smear test. Best of luck 🤞

@Decaffe What a story! Congratulations!

Decaffe · 11/01/2024 07:05

That being said, when I compare yesterday’s and today’s tests after 15 minutes rather than 5, they are definitely darker today?!?

Hmm, guess I am in limbo until tomorrow then!

It has been quite the ride @MrsB2019x!

Bearcub01 · 11/01/2024 07:26

@TTCnewbies i had bright red blood around 6 weeks in my last pregnancy, it happened when I had gone for a poo. Called the gp and she made me an appointment at EPU for a scan. I got an internal and saw a little bean with a heartbeat. Everything was fine! I only had that one bleed and they put it down to implantation.

emmatcc1 · 11/01/2024 07:47

@Decaffe It’s still so early and anything can impact levels of hcg at this point. It’s also good to note that you should only be comparing tests with a difference of two to three days.

I've woken with lots of cramping. I'm just waiting now. I think I'm going to misscary

Lemonyfire · 11/01/2024 07:55

@Decaffe congratulations on your bfp after what sounds like such a rollercoaster and difficult time. This early on it’s normal for your lines to be fainter/not change by day. Can depend on concentration etc. for the first few days I mine did not get any darker- try again tomorrow morning :)

Starlight11111 · 11/01/2024 08:00

@Fawklight are you bleeding? Cramping can be very normal, can you try and get a scan with EPU for reassurance? Sending a handhold xxxx
