Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

I'm the same feel so bad for my son! I feel so lucky that he's in nursery at least for 3 hours that he gets some sort of socialising. I promised myself I'd tidy up today and put the washing on but I just can't find the energy to move from the sofa! I know it's just part of this early stage and I'll feel better once the first trimester is over but I need to find a way to get myself moving lol!

I thought this too, mine are at their little forest school today and I hate to say it but I’m so glad, because they’re getting some outdoor/fresh air time that I genuinely don’t think I could have given today. Usually we go out all the time. The guilt is real I think I just need to pull my socks up a bit 🙁

Chaz693 · 10/01/2024 13:57

My little one is autistic too so we have to stick to a strict schedule which means I have no choice but to keep going. Which is really hard! I'm hoping that I'll have some more energy for when he finishes so I can actually interact with him. How do you deal with the mum guilt? I knew I'd have it but I expected it to hit a lot later on in the pregnancy but I literally feel like crying everytime I'm with him coz it won't just be us anymore lol! X

OMG the boob sensitivity has ramped up a notch today - I had to hold my boobs and drive one handed while going down a cobbled street earlier 😂 and the fatigue which a lot of you are suffering from too. I’ve got an hr gap in my work diary so off for a nap! Fab news on your scan @Khanga27 🥰

MudandMoet · 10/01/2024 14:02

@Khanga27 lovely that there's a heartbeat. It must feel so real now for you. Great news. I discussed the NIPT with MW this morning. She said it's routine in a lot of hospitals down south if your results come back slightly high but not up north which is a shame. I decided there and then I'll just pay for it anyway, after the 12 week scan. I do think I'll just have the odd scan here and there in between the standard scans for reassurance too.

@WolfMother326 Thank you! 💕 Are you all packed and ready?

3ornotto3 · 10/01/2024 14:04

You’re doing a spectacular job @Chaz693. i have no tips for mum guilt, I’m afraid, I just sometimes need to give my head a wobble 🥲 I guess we all give ourselves a hard time no matter what we do. But, We’ve overcome all our hardest days up until this point, so we can do it 🩷🩷🩷

@Sydney1988 the thought of you boob-clutching over cobbles made me lol 😭😭😭

WolfMother326 · 10/01/2024 14:04

@Chaz693 I am already worrying about how my son will cope with a sibling. He's so attached to me and also incredibly sensitive and strong-willed, I think it will be a big adjustment...

@MudandMoet not ready at all! As long as we remember passports, shoes, glasses and pants I think we'll be ok 😆

I'm actually so worried about how my little one's going to cope. Everytime I hold a baby of a friends he pulls me over to give them back lol! Luckily he doesn't get upset he just likes things to be in the right place lol! So I'm not sure how this is going to go. Especially because he is non-verbal and has very little understanding so I can't really explain to him what's happening. I'm hoping that his nursery can give me some tips. X

HoneyandSunshine · 10/01/2024 14:18

Are there any “influencers” who have a nonverbal child, @Chaz693 perhaps they had another baby and documented what helped them? I can’t think of any off the top of my head, but I know Mrs Hinch’s eldest has just been diagnosed as having ASD although unsure if he is verbal or nonverbal x

Thank you! I'm going to talk to some of the other mums from my son's nursery as it's a specialist nursery so all his classmates are also autistic and I know a few have younger siblings. So I'm thinking of talking to them once I hit 12 weeks and I know everything is okay. Hoping they will have some tips or insight at least. X

Juno231 · 10/01/2024 15:23

@Khanga27 I had nipt done last time and will this time again. I had a look and will probably book it for when I'm 9-10 weld. So I should know the sex by end of Feb which is nuts!

Kate543 · 10/01/2024 16:03

congrats to all you lovely ladies who have had scans and seen your little ones :) I am waiting to do a nipt and scan at 10 weeks and I can’t wait!
last time I didn’t go for the nipt because I was in my twenties and the combined test came back so low risk but then my little girl surprised us with an extra chromosome so this time I am just wanting as much information as I can get 😂

how’s everyone feeling? I am struggling to keep up with the one year old and feel like I’m back to trying to (unsuccessfully) nap when she naps 😅

Wanderlust86 · 10/01/2024 17:58

Trying to catch up with the thread. Lovely to see scan photos already!

I'm in the same boat as all the tired people! I could nap all day if I let myself. Im around 6+1 now and the sickness kicked in this morning unfortunately. I've bought loads of ginger stuff and hope it makes a difference.

I've self referred myself but don't have an appointment booked yet.
I will wait until I've had a first scan then I will join the fb group hopefully.

siobhanmt247 · 10/01/2024 18:24

I darent register myself or join any official groups until I get past 6 weeks

Lemonyfire · 10/01/2024 18:40

Hope you’re all doing well. To reassure some that are going from 1-2, I felt like that, was so worried how I would share my love and time and attention but you do, and the love you see your little one have for the baby is so lovely. My son is deaf and was quite needy at 2.5 but he adapted so well and was such a great big brother!
I’m now worrying about the timing of sending my son to secondary school the week I have a newborn 😣 we wanted a smaller gap but this is the way it’s turned out, hoping my daughter being a middle child will mellow her out a bit too 😂😂

so I caved and tested again and got my 3+ and a dye stealer. It was a risky move as only a 2 hour hold and afternoon so I’m glad it wasn’t wasted money!

HoneyandSunshine · 10/01/2024 18:47

What is the NIPT everyone speaks of? I don’t think I’ve done this with my previous, it doesn’t sound familiar to me! Can anyone educate me? 😚

Also, that’s really interesting @Kate543 ! Low risk tests and then your daughter’s diagnosis. How was that experience for you? I bet she’s so excited to have a little brother or sister 🥹 i think the age gap between my (current) 2 will be similar to yours. Could be biased but it’s been a brilliant age gap (thus far). Not sure how adding a third will fare though 😂

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 10/01/2024 18:49

Hello lovely ladies 👋🏼 hope it's ok if I join! I am currently 5 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby 🌈 We have a son who will soon turn 5, in the meantime of having him I was diagnosed with arthritis at the ripe age of 26 so was a shock to the system, plus the horrid med's I've had to trial to find the right one... this slowed down TTC our second baby! We unfortunately had a missed miscarriage in October and had a D&C 😞 So as you can imagine I am super nervous about this pregnancy 🙏🏼 Praying this little bean sticks ✨🌈

It's so nice seeing this thread and all of your scan photos so far, congratulations to you all 👏🏻🤰🏻

HoneyandSunshine · 10/01/2024 18:49

That’s wicked to see @Lemonyfire 💛

I’m the same, except my eldest will be going to primary. So much change at home, and leaving his younger brother at nursery which isn’t nearby (both of whom I think will hate the transition of being apart) isn’t giving me good vibes right now. So I’m with you 🫂

HoneyandSunshine · 10/01/2024 18:52

Sorry to hear about your loss and your medical issues @SunshineAndRainbows6, I hope you’re ok 💛💛 congratulations on your rainbow baby though, and praying they stay lovely and sticky for you until September 🥰❤️

Lemonyfire · 10/01/2024 18:54

@HoneyandSunshine it’s the transition anxiety isn’t it. Changing everything when it’s been like this for so long.

primary is a big step and I’m sure the distraction of a baby will help with yours being apart.
both Of mine have been asking for a sibling for so long and are so loving with friends and families babies so I’m just hoping the excitement overrides!
and also my son won’t be disturbed by a baby at night as he takes his hearing aids out 😂
I think I’m feeling anxious as it’s real, and I’ve wanted it for so long but feeling very emotional!

Lemonyfire · 10/01/2024 18:55

@SunshineAndRainbows6 congratulations and I’m sorry to hear about your MMC and history. Sending you loads of positive vibes

Kate543 · 10/01/2024 19:09

@SunshineAndRainbows6 sorry to hear about your loss but congratulations sending you all the positivity :)

@HoneyandSunshine to be honest I got to experience most of my pregnancy with no anxiety whatsoever about what was to come and in the early days she was so poorly. She will be so excited she loves babies! The nipt is a blood test that can show lots of medical conditions I think? Defo including Down syndrome although I still don’t think it’s completely accurate. Glad to hear the age gap works well for you! What will be the age gap between this baby and the middle?

HoneyandSunshine · 10/01/2024 19:14

@Lemonyfire aw love ❤️ are you feeling emotional about the whole thing, or are there other factors/things going on that are impacting you too? You’re so right about change, it’s scary isn’t it. I feel like I’m going to upset the apple cart 😬 But deep down I know this is right, they’re excited, even if the first year or 2 might be mega chaotic. lol

I also love that your son takes his hearing aids out 😂 he is wise beyond his years

emmatcc1 · 10/01/2024 19:24

@HoneyandSunshine NIPT is a genetic screening test for the baby to show any chromosomal abnormalities.

@SunshineAndRainbows6 Congratulations! Have you got any symptoms yet?

Also did any of you start baby shopping already? I ordered some dummies and bottles and I’m really tempted to go shopping for baby clothes.

Nausea hit me this afternoon so I had a lay in bed whilst the little one napped. I will have a 19 month age gap so lots of fun ahead but looking forward to it.

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 10/01/2024 19:42

Thank you ladies 🙏🏼 Yes here's hoping to this little bean sticking 🤰🏻🌈

@emmatcc1 Not a lot of symptoms at the moment, just the usual crampy, heavy boob feeling and I am peeing like a horse 😮‍💨😂 I was super sick with my DS and also the MMC, had to take a sick bag with me where ever I went.... so I am just waiting for that to hit me soon I'm sure 😂

How are we all feeling? I'm trying to catch up on this thread! Did we get a new FB link sent out? Would love to join but the ones I've clicked on so far have all expired 🙌🏻
