Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

Amazing @WolfMother326 I’m so pleased for you 🥹

KittyFantastica · 09/01/2024 20:37

Amazing and lovely to see @WolfMother326! So pleased for you.

@doitjustice95 Hubs and I started taking the Pregnacare Conception packs in August and I've since ordered New Leaf folic acid tablets and some Vitamin D gummies. I'll probably look into Vitamin B6 as well, but haven't seen any yet.

My pelvic and back pain have eased a bit today but are definitely made worse by sitting in my office chair all day. Do you sit a lot for work?

MudandMoet · 09/01/2024 20:40

@doitjustice95 I'm taking folic acid. I was taking pregnacare until a few days ago. I'm not sure if that didn't bind me up as I've been okay since just on standard folic acid. I've tried to get some vitamin D but the local chemist only had either a super strength one or one with B6 or something so I left it as didn't want to risk it but I'm shopping tomorrow after MW appointment so hopefully can pick some up then.

I've got a big bag of assorted liquorice from Christmas, I'm dying to have some but have held off because I read last time that it's not advisable during pregnancy. Other than that I've not changed anything else in my diet (oh!! ... no very little /diluted booze or soft cheeses) ! x

@WolfMother326 that's amazing news I'm so pleased!!!!! So lovely to see a scan pic on here too!

doitjustice95 · 09/01/2024 22:09

@MudandMoet Thank you! I’ll look into just getting a hold of folic acid and keeping this in the cabinet in case it’s the pregnancare side effects are affecting me.

doitjustice95 · 09/01/2024 22:11

Fully transparent here, I wasn’t hoping to get pregnant so this was an unexpected surprise and therefore wasn’t familiar with any of the supplements required until a deep dive yesterday online.

My husband is also super new to all this and is very unaware of what to do, he is trying to keep an open mind and wait until 6/8 week mark or maybe until he has a scan in his hand. I don’t know how to get him to start thinking in line with me? Any tips? Or shall I be taking a page out of his book and be completely zen until a scan date is in hand?

I guess my ADHD has kicked in and I’ve researched plenty to bring myself up to speed but I just feel I shouldn’t have and instead researched with him abit more so we both are getting familiar together?

Well, I hope I haven’t started on the folic acid too late, and the back ache was horrible today (I almost just wanted to take sick leave and rest up), yes I do work on a desk and chair most of the day, is this something I should be changing? Xx

PS: thank you to everyone messaging here I feel less anxious hoping the next few weeks go well for us all will keep you all updated here too

emmatcc1 · 09/01/2024 22:19

@doitjustice95 I think dha and iron are pretty important to take but I’m pretty sure that should already be in the prenatal. The main reason for taking folic acid is to prevent spina bifida, still there are many women who don’t take it and have healthy babies.
Maybe getting up to stretch here and there could help with the pain and don’t sit with legs crossed. I think it has something to do with miss alignment of the hips that could potentially worsen the backache.

@WolfMother326 this is amazing news 🤍 so glad you got to see something and that you feel slightly more reassured!

Nyckol · 09/01/2024 22:31

Amazing to see that scan pic, makes it all more real 🙈I think I am a bit in denial although very much wanted pregnancy, but after mc is different. No symptoms yet.
I'm taking Tesco's pregnancy vitamins.
I bought a Clear Blue digital today , felt like robbery to pay £8.99 for one test, when I've been using Home Bargains 3 for 79p😀Why do we pay so much for digital? Someone I wanted it to see it on one too And also to 'tell' my husband

Hi September crew! Haven’t posted before but have been following this thread over the last week, so thought I should start contributing :) I hit 5 weeks today which is super exciting, but am racked with anxiety after a chemical pregnancy in September. Why does every day feel twice as long right now?! My symptoms are fatigue, cramps, discharge (clear, lots of it - anyone else??), a slight headache, achey and heavy boobs, 5am wake ups, increased wee-ing. All good signs, so trying to stay positive! Next milestone is private scan at 7 weeks. Going to try for my 3+ digital this week - why must we torture ourselves with these tests 😂

I turned 5 weeks today too! I got hit with the morning sickness today and the fatigue ramped up a notch! I know what you mean about the days feeling twice as long! I need to try distracting myself but seems impossible!

If it helps, a fertility nutritionist recommended a supplement for pre, pregnancy and post natal called Methyl Pregnancy Multinutrients by Biocare. She also put me on Omega 3 for Mums & Bumps by Bare Biology. It’s all very overwhelming with sooo much info and different recommendations!

emmatcc1 · 09/01/2024 22:47

@Sydney1988 I was just talking with my partner how the day are going by so slow.
I also have lots of watery discharge.

@emmatcc1 you are a gem! Thank you I hadn’t considered how sitting cross legged might have been making it worse - will see how this helps over the next few weeks x

emmatcc1 · 09/01/2024 23:20

@doitjustice95 I get hip pain more than in the back and what helps me is to straighten and relax my legs or lie down on my back. If it happens at night I put a pillow between my knees and that has also helped lots.

Back pain I have more days than don't, I can only lay on my back (6weeks pregnant so it's sage apparently). In the day Mt back is killing me when I'm at work

Lemonyfire · 10/01/2024 06:03

Morning hope you’re all feeling ok this morning. Had a horrible nightmare I did another digital and it said not pregnant. I’m going to grab one this evening to try to tomorrow morning for that 3+

siobhanmt247 · 10/01/2024 06:15

Morning all. My Bbt dropped this morning so I don't think this one is going to stick :(

Xur · 10/01/2024 06:30

Good morning,
I am now 5 weeks 3 days in and I feel that with every day the nausea intensifies. Last night I was in shower and had a sudden urge to vomit, it didn’t come up but I could feel it in my throat.
today morning the nausea is persisting, yesterday morning the nausea discontinued after the morning coffee, today it’s still there and it’s much more intense. Was bending over to grab some socks from the dryer and I felt I’m just about ready to vomit. I have to fly on Friday I’m fairly certain I will not be enjoying myself on that flight with this nausea.

MrsB2019x · 10/01/2024 07:07

@siobhanmt247 Try not to count yourself out just yet. Best of luck for a sticky bean 🤞

Is anyone else insanely hungry? I’m honestly disgusted at how much I ate yesterday!

siobhanmt247 · 10/01/2024 07:17

@MrsB2019x i was hungry all night. Nearly got out of bed for a snack which isn't like me. I also just want bad foods like when I'm hungover

Going to pick up a few more tests this morning. I'm full of cold and didn't sleep well so hopefully it's just that

Cat2022 · 10/01/2024 08:09

@MrsB2019x I have been ridiculous the past two days. I actually felt physically heavier last night. I’m only 4+4 but I think actually only 4 weeks exactly as I ovulated late and woke with some nausea this morning.

MrsB2019x · 10/01/2024 08:21

@siobhanmt247 @Cat2022 Glad it’s not just me 😂 I’m worried it’s like my body building up for a severe bout of sickness or something lol

Starlight11111 · 10/01/2024 08:24

Morning ladies, I finally got my 3+ this morning and think I will stop testing for now... 🥹

Had to have an afternoon nap yesterday as I felt totally wiped out, sensitive nips, little nausea but nothing bad. 5 weeks today! 💕

Sydney1988 · 10/01/2024 08:33

@Nic17 Congrats! I got my 3+ this morning too, at 5+1. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll stop testing now too 😂
