Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

@MudandMoet I'm glad you bought this up!!! I know sex can't hurt the baby. What I'm worried about with it is it potentially causing spotting, is this likely anyone? Again I know that can be normal, but at this point seeing spotting might send my mind into a spiral that just isn't worth it.

We did do it last night for the first time, but VERY gently xxx

GHJ · 09/01/2024 11:56

How's everyone feeling? Nausea starting to get a bit worse, feel good when I'm eating but in between feel quite refluxy/gassy/mild nausea. Also so tired but not really sleeping. Will the sleep just keep getting worse or is it an early thing and then again towards the end? Have my private early scan tomorrow really hoping everything's ok and ideally a few days further on that I think! I wish I wasn't being so impatient but just want to know everything's ok. First day of last period was 22nd November, which would make me 7 weeks tomorrow I think but I don't think I ovulated until 12th December which makes me 6 weeks today. Got my bfp on 20th December though which feels ages ago now!

I can feel you with the tiredness night time it's so hard. I can't sleep throughout the night. I get up 3/4times a night. Don't go sleep till late only because I can't. The morning I struggle, getting out of bed. When I have wok it's so hard to get up. My nausea fluctuates it's not big time but is there sometimes.

MudandMoet · 09/01/2024 12:41

@Nic17 yes see that's the thing! I have had 'normal' sex in the past when ive been in the early stages of pregnancy and it definitely could be pure coincidence but I've spotted and miscarried. This time we're doing it less and a lot more gently. I spoke to the MW about it last time and she said to just do what feels right for you and as pp have said if it's not painful or uncomfortable then all should be okay. I'm not panicking to the point it's just hand jobs and blowies 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

@Jeyla1230 pleased that he's supportive x

@GHJ let us know how you get on at the scan tomorrow. Im Similar to you, last day of period was 26/11 and I ovulated on the 10/12 (definitely did too as I feel it so strong) I'm 6+2 x

Starlight11111 · 09/01/2024 12:44

@MudandMoet same boat completely, first pregnancy started spotting and then miscarried the following week after DTD "normally". Logically I know they're not connected, but I'm not logical right now 🥲🫠

Glad I'm not alone!!!

Lemonyfire · 09/01/2024 12:55

@MudandMoet so interesting you posted about this- so we have sex a few times a week normally, since I found out I’m pregnant I’ve had no Sex drive and also really anxious about it. I’m sure I had sex with my previous pregnancies ( was advised not to in one because of bleeding before 13 weeks but all was fine) so I don’t know why I’m so anxious about it. It’s almost like I think an organism will shake my uterus too much, I don’t know what’s wrong with me 😂 my rational side knows it’s absolutely fine!! I think I’ll have to wait until I’ve had a scan!

Lemonyfire · 09/01/2024 12:58

@Nic17 you’re not alone. I feel for my husband but he just keeps telling me not to be silly and since I said I wasn’t comfortable having sex he hasn’t tried or bought it up as he knows I’m anxious. I think it just all feels so fragile and unknown right now. I know when I was more heavily pregnant I didn’t think twice about it!

MudandMoet · 09/01/2024 13:11

@Nic17 @Lemonyfire it can't be a bad thing to be more cautious - sounds like we're all feeling a little irrational and illogical right now. My DH is by no means a record breaker in that department but I just don't fancy his John Henry tapping on my cervix at this stage thanks.

I'll definitely feel better when I've had a scan too and passed the 9 weeks stage. It's going so bloody slow.

WolfMother326 · 09/01/2024 13:22

I found that sex was really uncomfortable all through my previous pregnancy. Even when I went solo, orgasming kind of made my belly tighten so I just stayed away from it. I also had bleeding once after sex at 11 weeks pregnant so never did it again! I'm too much of a chicken.

MudandMoet · 09/01/2024 13:54

@WolfMother326 I haven't gone solo since BFP this time too as I feel that I orgasm much harder that way and again due to past experiences I'm just hanging on a bit to get passed those certain milestones of previous MC's.

MrsB2019x · 09/01/2024 14:53

Good luck with your scan later @WolfMother326 🤞

If I’m being honest I haven’t had sex since my BFP 🙈 I just haven’t had the drive at all!

Fawklight · 09/01/2024 14:59

I bled every time I had sex last pregnancy, so I'm really not sure about if i should have sex this time.

KittyFantastica · 09/01/2024 15:24

siobhanmt247 · 09/01/2024 08:57

@KittyFantastica maybe they stop getting so dark after a while. Are you over the 5 weeks? Sorry to hear about the redundancies. Fingers crossed for you

I feel really rough today. Was a bit worried I hadn't had as much tingling in my boob's and they weren't as swollen but I feel so hungover today

No, four weeks give or take today. Clue says 3+6 and Flo says 4+1. I'm three days late for AF, just thought they'd be darker by now considering the first positive was probably around 12DPO.

Starlight11111 · 09/01/2024 15:33

@KittyFantastica plenty of time for them to darken, do not worry. I was worried at first too, but mine only showed much progression every 72h!

Lemonyfire · 09/01/2024 16:12

It’s very reassuring seeing so many people feel the same way about sex / going solo, I thought it was just me!

Bearcub01 · 09/01/2024 17:06

I don’t know how you’re all having sex, I don’t even want my husband to look at me 😂I was bed bound with HG last time for 7 months so we done nothing, I think I’m just waiting on it all kicking in again I’m scared to do anything!

doitjustice95 · 09/01/2024 17:09

Hi everyone, I pray you’re all keeping well ❤️

I found out yesterday through a Clearblue test that I am 4-5 weeks pregnant (Clearblue results showed 2-3weeks, however per NHS this translates to 4-5 weeks from what I’ve read)

I just really wanted to ask about the back ache and cramps, I did do a huge house clean on Sunday and had some back ache, but since finding out yesterday I’ve just been abit unsure if the back ache relates to the growing person inside of me, or overdoing it on the Sunday chores. 😭

Would love some advice as the back ache is more so when I’m resting my back lying down, and the cramps come and go when I’m sat down. I do feel very breathless these last two days.

This is my first pregnancy ever and I’m really scared going in, feeling a tad bit lonely and isolated from my own body, it’s strange but I haven’t felt the surge of excitement yet. I hope that changes.

KittyFantastica · 09/01/2024 17:26

Thank you @Nic17 this is reassuring to see ❤️

@doitjustice95 I had intense cramps for three days, but they've eased off now. The lower back/pelvic aches have been absolutely awful since though. It sort of comes and goes. Better today than yesterday and seems to feel better if I raise my feet up. I'm a first timer too and surprised I've not had more symptoms yet, though it's still very early days.

WolfMother326 · 09/01/2024 18:43

I had my scan at the EPU. Everything looked perfect and the sonographer knew I was about 5w2d without me telling her. Too early to see much but all looked on track, could see the yolk sac and gestation sack and a tiny dot. They thought the spotting last weekend was probably implantation but still suggested I should take progesterone due to previous loss. Has anyone taken it and not had side effects? I'm happy it was a positive outcome. Will get rescanned when back from my trip in 4 weeks. Will be hard to wait but hope all will go well.

Thanks so much for all the advice and reassurance. I used my hot water bottle and had a great sleep, felt a million times better today . And all my symptoms are here with a bang today 😂 heartburn and nausea absolutely kicking my ass.

I haven't even thought about having sex, I spoke to dp about it and said I would just want to be out of the 1st trimester even thought logically I know it'll be fine! Fair play to anyone going for it!

Willow89 · 09/01/2024 18:46

@WolfMother326 fantastic you must be delighted seeing you little bean. I'm delighted for you!

MudandMoet · 09/01/2024 18:48

@WolfMother326 ahhh first scan pic of the thread 🥹 amazing and I'm so pleased it all looks well. Have a lovely time away and keep us posted on how you're getting on xx

3ornotto3 · 09/01/2024 19:41

We’re still having sex probably every other day 😂 but, we’ve always been like that So it’s not unusual. I’ve not had any sickness or any symptoms really.. in fact, without a test, I’d have no idea I was pregnant and actually the lack of symptoms worries me some days 🫠 my 12 week scan isn’t for another 5 weeks

Hi @KittyFantastica thanks for letting me know I feel so relieved to know I’m not alone!!

For me it’s been both the cramps and the back ache, hearing yours went down after 3days gives me hope, but the back ache you’re experiencing sounds a lot like mine, fingers crossed we can get past this.

Have you started to take folic acid? I only read up on all the supplements yesterday, worried if I am taking the correct supplement. I picked up the Pregnacare Original tablets at my local Tesco and it includes the correct amount of folic acid along with Vitamin D - any other recommendations for supplements/early diet changes to consider?
