iMum · 26/03/2008 12:06

The hosp wont scan me until 8 weeks, if i get there.

am strangely optimistic.

EllieG · 26/03/2008 12:19

COngrats iMum! That's fab news. Stay optimisitc. Here's wishing you a dull and uneventful PG x

ronshar · 26/03/2008 13:08

DonBean I am sending a hug to you.

Yipee to you imum. I am glad you have found us here. We missed you on the Octber thread so it is fantastic to see you back so quickly.

Ladies can I ask where you have been buying bras from. I need to contain the rapidly expanding Ronshar(.)(.). However I dont want to look like I am wearing a sports bra. I still need to pretend I am attractive. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I hope everyone is ok. I still have another week for my 12 week nuchal scan. I shall be 13+3!! That isnt to late is it?

EllieG · 26/03/2008 13:39

Hey ronny! Glad all still well with you. Sooo frustrating having to wait for your scan but will all be fine x

Hot milk do fabulous looking maternity bras and pants - they are in the Blooming Marvelous catalogue. I have not got any so don't know how they fit but they look gorgeous. Am going to get some when buying nursing bras and feeling a bit more flush. I went to get measured up for all my maternity bras and have been wearing nasty scaffolding things for the last 7 months or so.

ronshar · 26/03/2008 13:55

Yes Ellie I have a god awful contraption from mothercare. M&S was a step too far for me. Is Blooming marvelous on the internet? I dont really do alot of online shopping. I love the shops too much

EllieG · 26/03/2008 14:37

Yes Blooming Marvellous is on internet - if you go to the MN discount pages there is a link there and we get 10% off for being members, so worth a look.

Hi justjules - I didn't think I would find anyone else who was on heparin. The nurse did the first one for me today, she pinched an inch on my fat tum (well more than an inch actually - I am not a skinny bean) and she jabbed it in that, she said to alternate sides and areas each day. How long have you been on it - are you on the spin trial. I have just been back to the hospital to pick up my prescription! I was amazed as the size of the bag - there is so much but they have only given me a month which I understand - look like a right junkie what with that and a sharps box under the other arm!

Thanks for the tips, will bear in mind the injecting after a bath and wiping the excess off the syringe.

DonDons · 26/03/2008 17:18

good news smiles!

ronshar - I went to debenhams for my 36FF whoppers at 12 weeks - underwires and the lot - midwife said it was fine as long as they were fitted properly.

Caved at 36 weeks and bought 2 nursing (no wires) bras from John Lewis - they were the best of a bad lot IMO. The woman shouted at me that 'they're not fashion items you know' (haven't actually worn them yet as DH pointed out that there was 'quite a bit of sideways action' in them)

Morning Everyone

Dondons big hugs for you (we need a hug emoticon!)

No need for special bras here - unless they do something for jelly belly support?

Congrats IMUM - welcome back!

lulu I had a scan at 7 weeks after one MC - am still conteplating begging for another (i get to ring up and book my own) spesh when I hear about MCs near to the date I had my sacn (11 +3) I get all nervous

jules did you still feel rotten after your 11 week MC - I have been comforting myself with how sh*te I have been feeling for the past 2 months but am scared you can still feel really sick and PG even if you have had an MMC arghhhhh the madness is setting in...

EllieG · 27/03/2008 09:11

How many weeks are you now pops?

smilesattheweekend · 27/03/2008 09:20

Thanks JustJules - I am on clexine. They didn't say anything about carrying a card etc but will ask next time. My dad died a few years ago from Alzheimers and mum and I got him a bracelet in case he got lost etc - I might ask her if I can use that one if she still has it. I am sure she would like it to go to good use.

Thanks for the info, it is good to hear you are getting on ok and that you think the Heparin is working. I did my first injection myself this morning, I looked at the needle and thought oh sh*t and then just stabbed it in - it was ok though. I have a big bruise from the one the hospital did yesterday.

X

Smiles

perkypopsy · 27/03/2008 09:40

Hi Ellie 13+3 today!!!!
But I sometimes get the feeling it is all a big scam and am going to find another MMC so never really believe it is happening? Sickness not so bad yesterday and today - which is great but also nervous making ho hum - you jut can't win eh?

How are you? How many weeks til B day????

rainrain · 27/03/2008 11:48

Hello all, not visited for a week. Hows things? Don sorry to hear your news - that sucks, really horrible. I had exactly the same with my first m/c. Fingers crossed for the next time x

Hello imum and mrsmattie. I got an early scan but doc literally had to shout at someone and name drop my consultant's name. Makes me really . It is like the healthcare system (in some areas anyway) don't appreciate how hard it is going through this, and no concession is made. Great news smiles

Kate any news? Hope you are ok.

Popsy I really am feeling it too. I thought after my 13 week scan (which was dating one) I would feel better. But I think that for a few days at least it made me feel worse. Coming home with a scan picture and talking about it with DD made it all the more real, and therefore all the more scary in case it goes wrong..... You ladies who are much further along - does it ever go away? Can you ever settle into it?

Hi to everyone else, hope you all well.

EllieG · 27/03/2008 16:41

I am settling into it now rainrain, but my new worry is that something will go wrong at birth. Having said that, I didn't feel her move much yesterday cos was so busy, and was frantic by tea time, so no, I don't think you settle that much, sorry.

3 weeks to go now for me popsy! I'm sooooo excited! Having lots of BH and period-type pains now so hopefully body is limbering up nicely. Am slightly terrified of giving birth, but so bloody uncomfortable now that can't wait for the baby to be OUT! Though that said, I think I will feel a little bit sad when she's here and not attached to me anymore, I'll have to share her with people then [slightly mad emoticon]

perkypopsy · 27/03/2008 17:04

Oh Ellie is always fab to hear from you - you are such a tonic . Can't believe your time is really here - is AMAZING!

rainrain good to know you feel same as me - to be honest I felt same as you at both scans - firstly relief then fear that everything could go wrong anyminute and it would feel worse cos more real - DH and I discuss things and I'm so chuffed to hear him getting excited - then in the pit of my stomach I think oh shit everything is going to go wrong and it'll be awful dealing with everyone elses anguish never mind my own - hmmmmmm need some kind of positivity mantra!
Just been looking for somewhere local for a nuchal as I don't get one here but looks like I'm too late as 14 weeks on Monday and is then too late (bugger emoticon)

rainrain · 27/03/2008 17:15

Thanks Ellie. I think they move less the last couple of weeks actually - not much room left in there! I seem to remember DD getting quite lazy/sleepy/sqashed by that stage...

Popsy nuchal is at 11 weeks isn't it? I opted just to go for bloods actually (they do at 16?). That's what I did with DD, all was fine. The risk factor results are still quite accurate with bloods I think, just a little less than nuchal and less than nuchal and bloods together. None of the screening tests are guaranteed tho'! I love both your ( ) emoticon's - they clearly need a wider range to choose from!!!

perkypopsy · 27/03/2008 18:05

Hiya rainrain - well I am relieved is too late cos that means I don't have to agonise over spending £150 when all i really want to know is is there anything alive in there
working late again grrrrr been here since 8 (stupid cow emoticon)

EllieG · 27/03/2008 21:12

Well you only have 5/6 months to go and then you get some maternity leave!

Oblomov · 28/03/2008 08:08

I have good news.
I was wrong. I have not miscarried. I went to Kings yesterday and they did a scan before they saw me in the diabetic pump clinic.

I am 6+3. They saw a sac, yolk sac, embryo and they monitored the heartbeat. No amniotic sac present and she commented that worryingly it was a bit small, but atleast this is more advanced than my mmmc in Nov 07, when all they could see was a mis-shapen sac.
Clearly it is very early and we are far from out of the woods, but I can not express my delight.

It took me 3 hours to get to Kings yesterday. I was too late for a scan, but begged them. Prof Amiel who has always cared for my diabetes, & through ds's pregnancy and my mmc, was so nice. I felt like i was getting the best service in the word.

Rememeber that since I found out I was pregnant, 28 days ago:
I only had sore boobs and felt pregnant for one day, then lost symptons. I have had very bad pains, shooting pains, that have made me yealp with pain - similar to those I had when I had my mmmc.
I went to :
my Gp twice, 2 phone appointments with another GP, I have been to A&E, and the EPU clinic twice, none of which offered me anything - no explanation for the pain, no treatment, no scan, no nothing. I had given 4 urine samples and had bloods taken aswell.
So how come no one EVER seemed concerned about my pain, or tested my urine for protein ?
In the last 2 days, my pain has subsided. Instead I am very nauseous and keep retching. This I am loving , because it makes me feel pregnant.

Yesterday Prof said I had protein in my wee and has given me amoxycillan. The scan showed I had a cyst on the other ovary, similar to Nov, which she suggested in infamed and may be part of the pain.
I felt that atleast I was being aknowledged and listened to.

Prof said she was unhappy with how I had been treated. she said that, I had to knuckle down and do lots of blood sugar monitoring, and that now the really serious work begins.

But I am very happy, and wanted to share with you, my joy at being wrong

EllieG · 28/03/2008 09:03

Oblomov - that's wonderful news, am all teary. Am so pleased that you were wrong. Am keeping everything crossed for you and your little bean.

ILTS - What time?! Let us know after won't you?

Oblomov · 28/03/2008 09:10

EllieG · 28/03/2008 09:14
