I hate to be so self-centred but I have 8 days to go!! What am I going to do to fill the time until LO arrives, I can't stop thinking about it!! Any ideas on how to take my mind of things?

TwilightSurfer · 06/05/2008 20:40

Janus I asked the same question 5 days before DD1's due date...my water broke at 1AM the next day. So much for filling the time.

rainrain · 06/05/2008 20:50

Don't know if I should admit it, but i spent an awful lot of time on the playstation leading up to the birth of DD actually the only time i have been into it!!

Emmsy1 · 06/05/2008 21:07

ronshar just posted to you on the October thread! I think I will be just fine there now, sort of pushed my way in
a little peed off with the hospital today, I had a letter to say that my 20 week ante-natal appt on the 9th June has been cancelled because they are reorganising the clinic!? They will send me another appt in due course. I rang them to ask when it will be, and was told that the message will be passed on to a midwife from my team. They didn't ring me back, so looks as though I will just have to wait for another appt through the post. I was so looking forward to my scan on 9th June, thought it would help ease a few worries that I have been having (want to see 'visualised with normal appearance!) especially since I am quite old, sorry for whinging, just wanted to get it off my chest

iliketosleep · 06/05/2008 23:45

makecakesnotwar · 07/05/2008 09:16

ALBS- June lot chat so much we burn through a thread every fortnight. We obviously have too much time on our hands

And just to make Jules etc a little bit jealous, I am being induced in a WEEK!!!!!!!!! Agggh.

Am I really going to be mummy? Can someone pinch me, please.

Oh and Neenz/NH could be having her twins right now....we haven't heard from her for a couple of days!!!!!!!!

Sorry- too many !!! I'm a bit excited.

Janus · 07/05/2008 10:57

Oh makecakes, I am due in a week too, maybe we'll be the same day!! How are you feeling/coping? I don't know what to do with myself but mumsnet is taking up loads of time now, people will be sick of my well intended advice! There are quite a few of us nearing the end now, goingfor3 is very close too and twins soon too, how exciting!

DonDons · 07/05/2008 11:29

Hello girls - just popping in between feeds to say good luck to all those due in the next week or so

Flossie! - not long for you now - so exciting. Good luck with the induction! (have the drugs - they're bliss!)

ronshar · 07/05/2008 11:56

I think Neez should have had her waters broken yesterday. So with every thing crossed she should be a proud mummy by now.

How exciting. Lots of babies. By this time next week we could all be toasting the arrival of several little beauties. Brilliant.

I think my bleeding may have been internal bruising. This little monkey is haveing a good old kick about. Maybe my kidneys were in the way?

Thank you for the invite to join the June thread. I can only just keep up on here and the October thread. As I found out yesterday to my cost. The other children do not like it when I am on the computer for too long

07mumstheword · 07/05/2008 13:57

Hi Emmsy told me about this thread so I thought I'd have a look. I had 2 very early MC's last year and I'm now 16 + 3 I'm constantly worried if everything is ok and on the due Oct thread it appears a lot of the girls are already feeling movement.

Emmsy I've found the Oct thread a little difficult at times but they all seem nice. It's very frustrating about your scan appointment I'd be livid if that happened to me but what can you do? I hope they send you another appointment quickly.

There are a few names here that I recognise from the months I was on the conception thread cricri goingfor3 Ronshar iliketo twilightsurfer KD73 so glad to hear you are all ok.

cricri · 07/05/2008 14:50

Hi 07mumstheword good to see you again I remember when you got your BFP and we were in the waiting room together. I'm not far behind you - 14+4 today. Hope all is going well for you.
Can't wait to see all those babies! Hope you don't have to wait too long Janus and Makecakes

iliketosleep · 07/05/2008 14:53

hey 07 so nice to see so many cake (and battered sausage) eaters checking their pants

TwilightSurfer · 07/05/2008 18:11

Hello 07MumstheWord. Pull up a chair and relax a while. Try not to worry about movements just yet. If the baby is facing your back you may not feel anything for a long while. You're in good company here.

iliketosleep · 07/05/2008 19:05

i didnt feel movement till about 19+4 i think it was so dont worry

Jules can you tell me what the chances are after a heartbeat is seen? Did you see heartbeats with your previous m/c.

Thanks I am going quietly mad...

kd73 · 07/05/2008 19:28

Thanks Jules,

With first m/c we hadn't had a scan, but I felt fine at 9 weeks then one day at lunchtime, I realised I was hungry (first time in weeks) and felt really well. 3 days later I miscarried naturally

Second time, scan revealed no fetal pole and I went on to miscarry naturally

I am just really worried that whilst I feel ok at the moment, situations can change like the wind and it might all go wrong again I was really hopeful I might get the aspirin and heparin as part of the trial but unfortunately not

Was medical intervention required with your m/c?

kate2179 · 08/05/2008 08:19

Juat a quick crash for kd73 cos though I don't belong here atm I like to keep an eye on you all () (cos I miss you )
[schizophrenic emoticons!]
kd I remember so clearly feeling as you do now and it's horrible. Sadly feeling ok or not ok is really no sign whether things are going well or not, I felt sick as a dog with my first which turned out to be a mmc and never really got going. Every pg is different. If you feel ok then that's DEF not a bad thing, enjoy it! You're right, things can change very quickly, but remember:

  1. the chances of 3 mc's in a row are tiny (can someone please say this to me when I am driving myself crazy in a few months time!??)
  2. the chances fall even further once you've seen a hb which I think you have?
  3. if the worst comes to the worst, which I pray it won't, we'll all be here for you.

I know you know all this stuff anyway, but sometimes it helps to see it written down, and to 'hear' other people actually say it. I hope it does help. Taking things one day at a time is the hardest thing, but it is all we can do, and we are all doing it together, whatever stage we are at. ((((Hugs)))) to you.
Now very late for work... pesky murder trial! xx

07mumstheword · 08/05/2008 08:22

Thank you for the warm welcome and reassurance it's so nice to know it's normal not to feel anything quite yet.

KD73 I'm so sorry to hear of your multiple MC's. I don't know how far gone you are but thought I would just add that when I bled at 6 wks during this PG (I had 2 early mc's before) and had a scan the sonographer found a "good" heartbeat dated me at 6 + 1 and said if you get to this stage (6 wks +) with a heartbeat you have a 95% chance of all being well. I still worried and still do, I think mc's make you realise just what a miracle having a baby is. I do hope all is well for you this time.

iliketosleep · 08/05/2008 11:06
