btw - Can you all reassure me about (erhum) wetness down below. I keep being utterly paranoid that I'm leaking fluid, but am sure it is excessive cm plus having got dh to sniff my pants I think my pelvic floor leaves a bit to be desired. Doesn't stop me worrying. I;d know if it was amniotic fluid, right???????? Forget if i had any worries like this with dd.

DonDons and Ellie - such beautiful babies! Well done both of you, you must be so proud of them

KashaSarrasin · 28/04/2008 19:09

Yay DonDons and Ellie - they are both absolutely beautiful! CONGRATULATIONS!!

Welcome barbareebaa and kd73, may your stay here be long and uneventful

It seems like ages since I last posted so I can't remember what's new since then (pg brain excuse). I had my repeat 20wk scan a while ago, baby is well and the clot on my cervix is smaller, so hopefully it will get completely reabsorbed. Next appointment is for a glucose tolerance test (because Mum has Type II diabetes) at the end of May, I have to take my own bottle of Lucozade !

I also met up with the person who I hope will be my doula last week, she seems really nice. I think doulas are a great idea, DH will of course be there but he tends to exude stress if he sees me in pain which doesn't really relax me! I'm still planning/hoping for a homebirth as long as there are no huge medical reasons why I need to be in hospital, fingers crossed.

lackaDAISYcal · 28/04/2008 20:03

sorry barbareeba, I didn't say hi earlier

welcome to the thread, and feel free to witter away to your hearts content.

and for your future reference....the acronym list. It's in the headers under "useful stuff"

Congratulations on your beautiful babies, Ellie and Dondons
good luck with the bf, both of you

ronshar · 28/04/2008 22:41

Oh my word I am crying. What beautiful little babies. Ladies what can I say. Thank you for coming back to us so quickly to show us the fruits of your labours.

I appear to have put the cat among the pigeons. Breast feeding is fantastic. I recommend it to everyone. However it isnt simple and sometimes it is really hard. The thing we all need to do which can be hard is to ask for help. We all had driving lessons. Same principle.

ZamMummy · 28/04/2008 23:14

Huge congratulations to Ellie and DonDons - very , I want mine NOW! (only 10 days to go tho, section booked for next Thurs)
Sorry no time for longer post as only have dial-up chez parents, sending healthy & well vibes to all xx

cricri · 29/04/2008 07:36

Barbareeba Both Daisy and I are due in November. I scared the life out of DH last night by announcing that the baby would be here in around 6 months' time
Kasha Glad your repeat scan went well. I'm also thinking of having a doula and am meeting a lady who has been recommended to me next month. Like you I think doulas are a great idea. I'm not sure how DH is going to react to the whole birth thing so having somebody else there for support is great.
Ronshar Don't worry, you haven't put the cat among the pigeons at all, I'm just pleased you told it how it is because we need to know. Forewarned is forearmed as they say and it's no good us first-time mums expecting breast-feeding to be a piece of cake when it's clearly not. I'm still determined to give it a try in any case so don't worry, you haven't put me off

smilesattheweekend · 29/04/2008 11:30

Hi justjules - ok, not had any bleeding for a couple of weeks now (touch wood). had a scan last week at 10+5, I will be 12 weeks on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have started to think about telling more people but am frightened too in case it all goes wrong. Also trying to work out how best to tell DS who is 4 and a half. Heparin jabs are going ok and getting used to it. Saw MW yesterday for booking in - she gave me the usual blurb about breasfeeding and asked if I was a victim of domestic violence, I told her that if she saw my tummy she would think so!! Heard you have leaky boobies hope you are managing them ok and not having too much leakage. I have the NT scan next wedensday and have to go back to the clinic to have bloods checked and then just wait to see MW after holiday (mid june) so hopefully I can just get on and enjoy things. I got a doppler yesterday and heard the HB - I know people can get hung up on checking but I only intend to use it every now and again, I promise I wont become paranoid. When DH and I spoke recently about the baby, we both agreed that we didn't enjoy being pg with DS but this will be our last and we both want to enjoy it and not worry!!!!

Take care everyone.

DonDons · 29/04/2008 12:10

Just a quick one for ALBS - excessive CM? Yep - me too - for quite a few weeks and I kept thinking it was amniotic fluid - but believe me, when your waters break you'll know about it! Even if it's a trickle at first, eventually you will be soaked. Also, you tend to feel it a bit more than CM, oh aned the sweet smell thing too.... but, if you are using a pad and it is getting soaked through, you should speak to MW coz you never know.....

Jules - my boobs are leaking too - right in front of my in-laws, oh the joys.......

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Thanks for the replies about the itchy boobs. They're driving me nuts!

Cricri I'm due November too. It seems a long way off but when you say 6 months it seems a lot closer!

Daisy thanks for pointing out the acronym list!!

Nothing much to tell really - just wanted to say hi!! Am now 12 weeks (yay) and only 3 days to go scan!

Hi Kazbeth!
Congrats on your pregnancy!
It is really worrying, I've been willing the weeks away. I hope it goes really quick for you.

kd73 · 29/04/2008 21:35

Congratulations Kazbeth. I am currently 6+2 and have my first scan on Thursday having suffered 2 previous m/c.

My EPAU are scanning me for the "spin" trial - which I believe isn't available until 2 miscarriages so it might be worth putting in a call to see if your local hospital are offering the same/similar trial.

Good luck and wishing us both long and boring pregnancies.

smilesattheweekend · 30/04/2008 11:06

Hi KD, I had 2 mc last year and 2 before DS who is now 4.5. I am on the spin trial and having treatment - daily injections and aspirin - if you need to know anything give me a shout!!! Good luck with the scan.
