Help is needed ladies.

I have just been to the loo and surprise there is red blood. Not only that but stuff too.. No pain though all not lost.

I phoned hosp, who were lovely but said I have to get GP referal. Also as only 17+5 they dont see ladies until 20weeks. I will need to be seen by early pregnancy unit.

I am sitting here wondering if it is worth the effort of making GP appoint just to be told see how you are in the morning!!

Shall I bother or just wait and see for the morning?

alittlebitshy · 30/04/2008 14:30

Ronny - when i bled this pg the epu told me to go to a and e.......
Could you do that??? They would hopefully send you up there????

(((hugs))

HOw much blood??

(((more hugs)))

ronshar, have you spoken to the EPU? Perhaps your GP could fax over a referral so you could get seen now. I'd be really surprised if no-one would see you today, and 17.5 weeks is hardly what you'd call early pregnancy is it?

Call the EPU, then call your GP, and if you are still worried/get no joy from them, go to A&E.

{{{{hugs}}}}} for you

Hello ALBS. Thank you for answer. Not that much blood to be honest but more than a wipe! Oh how pleasant, discussing wipes
I have phoned GP's. The receptionistHa sput me down for a phone back. A super dooper new service where they take your details and a GP phones you up to see what you need. I shall wait and see. I hope the usual GP terror of pregnant ladies will win the day for me and get me straight to epu. The hospital lady did say epu closed for the day???? What does that mean you are only allowed to have problems in the mornings.

lackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2008 14:42

kazbeth, they will always use your last period date to estimate the EDD, as ovulation and conception can be as much as five days apart. This is then confirmed by the dating scan at 12 weeks. If you haven't had a period they like to do an early dating scan so that they can make sure you're getting any screening tests etc at the right gestational age. Enjoy the extra scan, not everyone gets one

hi not been in here for ages keep missing it on active convos

kd73 - brilliant news

ronshar - will keep everything crossed for you, I have had 2 pregnancies where I have bled and everything has been OK as well.

dondons and ellie - huge congraulations to bothe of you as well

All is well here 29+6 today, SPD hurting like hell but apart from that on the countdpwn now.

ronshar · 30/04/2008 14:50

Thank you Daisy. I am sitting here waiting for the phone. I have to pick up DD1 from school in a min so GP better hurry up.

ronshar · 30/04/2008 14:52

Hello Sweetkitty, How are you getting on. 29 weeks so close and yet so far to go. Are you still mobile with the SPD?

cece · 30/04/2008 14:54

ronshar - they won't see you at the hospital. When I bled at 18 weeks I was seen in the labour ward as it was a weekendand the day assessment unit was closed. I then went to the day assessment unit in the evening when I was 18 weeks +3 and they saw me then no problems.

I really would get yourself up to the hosptial. If you are there and cry they might see you! Often my tactic with these things...

ronshar · 30/04/2008 15:04

Cece thanks love I remember your ordeal. Gp has just phoned unfortunately I have to go see him. Bugger I just wanted a fax. 4.30. So another wait followed by a rooting around in parts that should'nt be rooted around in

KashaSarrasin · 30/04/2008 15:09

ronshar - when I had my bleed a few weeks ago I went to A&E (it was a huge gushing bleed) but it still took 4 hours of waiting before being seen by a doc, 6 hours before I saw anyone who knew how to use a doppler, and 24 hours before I got a scan.

I hope your GP is helpful. Thinking of you, fingers crossed all is OK and you get some reassurance quickly.

cece · 30/04/2008 15:09

ronshar I hope everything is OK for you... can't believe you have to see the GP first. What a farce! Perhaps though he/she may listen to heartbeat for you.

kate2179 · 30/04/2008 15:11

Just a quick post to say...
CONGRATULATIONS to clever clever DonDons and Ellie!! You both have beautiful babies, great to see your pictures, it helps to know that stories in this thread do end as they're supposed to sometimes.

Ronshar I see you are in West Sussex, are you anywhere near St Richards in Chichester? I have a friend who is a nurse there and she got me an appt for an early scan there back in February when I couldn't get through to my normal epu. The number I have for them is 01243 788122 but I can't remember if that's the main number or the one for the epu. If you're stuck give me a shout, am only half an hour from Chichester. Really hope you're ok, far more likely that this is nothing than something, not that that helps at the time I know... Keeping everything crossed for you.

We are mostly ok here. Just taking things one day at a time. It's Thomas' funeral tomorrow which is going to be really tough. I am going to carry the coffin in the car, feel like that is as close as I will ever get to holding him [sob]. But we will be ok in time. If this experience has made me realise anything, apart from how much I have come to rely on the advice and support I get from all you ladies, it is how much I value my marriage and how much I love my DH. That sounds really cheesy, but it isn't meant to be. Am so glad we will be going on holiday next month, can't wait for it to be just the 2 of us, no phones, no emails, no having to please anyone but ourselves, and now at least no worrying every time I go to the toliet/order in a restaurant which I suppose is something. Not that I wouldn't swap it in a minute, but you know what I mean.

Love to all Kxx

kate2179 · 30/04/2008 15:16

X posts Ronny with your last one. Hope your GP is helpful. Def give me a shout if there is anything I can do xx

cece · 30/04/2008 15:17

Kate - hello there, was wondering how you were. I know exactly what you mean about your feelings for your DH. Mine was fantastic when we lost Hope . I will thinking of you tomorrow.

Ellie and Dondons - what lovely babies.

lackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2008 16:01

kate, will be thinking about you tomorrow . I hope the service is a comfort to you both and that you get some peace from it.

Enjoy your holiday, you deserve it after all you've been through

Kate Will be thinking of you and DH and little Thomas tomorrow
Jules Good luck for your scan tomorrow.
Hello to everyone else!

Janus · 30/04/2008 19:09

Ronshar, what a pain to have to go to GP but I hope they do at least listen to the heartbeat and calm fears that way. I had an electric shock at around 17 weeks and went to GP who then listened to heartbeat and I felt much better then, hope it does for you too.
Kate, I just wanted to say I hope that tomorrow helps you and dh in some way, saying goodbye to Thomas. Hope the holiday gives you some rest and no, doesn't sound cheesy at all what you said about dh, sounds wonderful.

smilesattheweekend · 30/04/2008 19:42

Thinking of you Ronshar.

Kazbeth, the spin trial is a based in scotland but looks at ladies in the UK who have had prev mcs, they offer you ongoing care/scans (one every two weeks from 7 weeks) and if you get selected you have to inject with Heparin and take baby aspirin, my understanding is that these things thin the blood and protect against clotting disorders - if you have read lesley reagan's book about miscarriage, she gives recurrent miscarriers low weight heparin if you are diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome - a blood clotting disorder, this only gets tested for in some areas though. The heparin is meant to enable the placenta to work better. It is luck of the draw if you sign up as to whether you get just the ongoing monitoriing scans or both the scans and the treatment - I got both the scans and the treatment which is good as it makes me feel like I am doing something positive but also it could help!! Only downside is having to inject every day into my tummy and will have to do this up to 38 weeks (only at 12 weeks on Friday!!), the bruises aren't very fetching but I don't wear bkinis or strut around in the noddy in front of people. Hope this helps (of course this is my understanding of the trial, if anyone would like to add to it, please feel free).

Kate - you will be in my thoughts tomorrow. x

Smiles

EllieG · 30/04/2008 20:14

Ronny - hope everything is OK and you get some positive news from epu hon

Kate thinking of you for tomorrow. Many hugs.

Dondons - your baby is soooooo beautiful lady, those photos are gorgeous.

Molly is currently Not Sleeping this evening. I have tried telling her that the baby books say she should be but she hasn't read them and is determined to stay up and watch the football.

KashaSarrasin · 30/04/2008 20:48

ronshar Hope you got some sense out of your GP.

kate I'll be thinking of you, your DH and Thomas tomorrow

jules hope your scan goes OK!

Ellie welcome to the joys of parenthood! It's worth it though .

kd73 · 30/04/2008 21:00

Kate My thoughts are with you and your dh tomorrow. May you find peace and comfort.

Ronshar When I suffered bleeding, I pitched up at the reception of the local maternity hospital and was seen by the doctors from the gynae ward and I was not the only one . If in doubt get yourself there or to A&E for proper care.

smiles thanks for the details on the spin trial, I have my first epau appt tomorrow and its still early days 6+3 so not sure if they will see anything from scan but the trial is going to be on the agenda!!!!

Jules Good luck with your scan tomorrow

dondons & Ellie massive congratulations
