Just read that Dondons had her baby Amelie today, 9lbs, born by cs. Big congratulations to her

time4tea · 25/04/2008 20:33

hello ladies

I'm a really old girl from this thread, my lovely DS2 Torin is now 14 months.... but I still think of you all, even though probably none of you will know me, and I'm rooting for you.

once they are here, the precious ones are all the more treasured because of the precious ones we lost... I never take a day for granted

good luck to you all, especially those who need to keep coming back after sad losses, take care of yourselves XXXXXXXXXXXX

Jules Good luck with all the exercise to get missy to budge! Ooh, roast chicken butty sounds fab, thank you My MS is now easing off, just the occasional wave of nausea in the evenings. Still tired though - I was in bed at 9pm yesterday. Doesn't help that I've been fretting about my sick cat all week and not sleeping well. Thankfully he seems to be on the mend now, fingers crossed. I guess it's good practice for the future
Big congrats to Dondons Fabulous news.
Tea Thanks for popping in, it's always good to hear success stories after mc.
Lackadaisycal Posted for you on our AN thread, but really pleased DD is better. What a horrendous time you've had.
I'm 13 weeks exactly today I still can't quite believe it...

kd73 · 26/04/2008 22:51

I've had 2 m/c in the last 12 mnths and am now almost 6 wks pg.

I have no symtoms and am not excited just waiting for the "game over" again.

Is this normal?

lackaDAISYcal · 26/04/2008 23:00

hi kd......welcome to the thread and congratulations on your pregnancy

Perfectly normal, sweetie, we have all had similarly ambivalent feelings.

I had two m/cs between my DS and my DD who was born last June, and I don't think I ever relaxed during the pregnancy.

Did you get any reasons for the m/cs or were they just "one of those things"? not that it makes it any easier to cope with, but if there was no medical reason for them, then chances are things will be perfectly fine this time. My EPU told me I was just unlucky to be the 1 in 3 two times in a row.

You have come to the right place on here though, and you can come on and laugh, cry, freak, worry, and there will always be someone to hold you hand and help you through whatever you're feeling. It's a good place

hey time4tea...just noticed your post. I certainly remember you (as twocatsonthebed right?) as you were a few months ahead of me (daisybump as was). I hope torin is doing well.......the success thread is quiet but there are usually a few posts every week, come and say hello over there

.....and yes, I'm here again already .

KD73 HOORAY for your BFP!! Worry will be constant but just try to focus on what could be instead of what has been. No two pregnancies are the same and there are no guarrantees you will be plagued by any number of symptoms. That's the random nature of this business. Unload all your baggage here and stay a while.

Our motto: HEALTHY AND WELL HEALTHY AND WELL HEALTHY AND WELL HEALTHY AND WELL HEALTHY AND WELL HEALTHY AND WELL

duvetheaven · 27/04/2008 10:31

Hi kd
Congrats on your bfp. I also had two miscarriages within a year. I got a BFP around new year 2008 and like you couldn't feel the excitement 'just in case'. The 2 mc's had put paid to that. Two early scans helped at 6 and 9 weeks. Even at 12 weeks felt a bit 'shaky' telling others, thinking hope I don't have to retract this in a week or two.
Now 21 weeks more relaxed but your feelings sound entirely normal. Reading posts here really helped!
Like DAISY said could be just statistically unlucky.
Best wishes and keep us posted.

TJuice · 27/04/2008 10:38

KD - congratulations!!!!! that is fabulous.
of course, its a little worrying right now (okay - a lot) but you are half-way through your first trimester, right? be as positive as you can, my fingers and all other crossable things are crossed for you!

rainrain · 27/04/2008 11:11

Congrats to Don Dons!!! What a lovely name Amilie.
Hi to KD - what you are feeling is completely normal here i would say - I had 3 m/c in a row but for no medical reason they could find... currently 18 weeks and only just starting to believe it all might be ok. Try to relax - i am convinced extremely high stress levels did not help me with the last two losses... obviously no medical proof but that's what I think. Easier said than done though I know!!
Hello timefortea - I remember you from when I used to lurk on the threads in previous pregnancies last year. thanks for all the good wishes!

lackaDAISYcal · 27/04/2008 11:21

Oh, I missed the post about Dondons.....

Big Big Congratulations Dondons and family and welcome to the world Amelie

Hi Ladies,
Hello!
Hope you don't mind if I join this thread. Am 11 weeks and 6 days pg and have my first scan on friday. I had a mc 5 years ago and am really nervous, having scary dreams and all that!
Just got married at Christmas to my lovely fella, been together for nearly 7 years now. Am very lucky girl!
Anyhoo you all seem so lovely and supportive and I wondered if it would be o.k. to drop by from time to time. We live away from my home town so don't really have any girly pals and worry about overloading hub with my paranoia!!
Also just wanted to say I am not v. good with the 'lingo' on here - like for 'husband' and the technical preg terms and all that so please forgive isf I write longhand (unless someone wants to give me a crash course!!)

Anyway TTFN,
Bx

barbareebaa · 27/04/2008 17:29

By the way - just joined mumsnet yesterday!

splishsplosh · 27/04/2008 17:33

Congratulations and big warm welcome to kd and barbareeba, I hope your stays here are long and dull
It's really difficult to believe that things can be OK. I found it difficult to avoid thinking that mc was inevitable, and I didn't want to start imagining the future, because I was trying to protect myself from getting hurt if things did go wrong.
I'm 18 weeks today, and I haven't really had any reason to worry, but I still manage to find things. My latest is that I don't look pg at all, just a bit podgier, so now can't help thinking what if it's not growing etc etc.

So we know how you feel, is what my long rambling is meant to say

ronshar · 27/04/2008 19:13

Welcome to Barbareeba and kd73. Dont worry about the lingo. We are all as mad as a sack of cats on here and we all understand each other well enough.

Big congrats to DonDons. Another girl for the thread this year. Slowly we are get through the ladies who I met last March. Every time another one has a healthy baby I have a little more faith that things can be ok for us all.

I finally have a bump which looks like a baby bump. At 17 weeks. Excellent. Give me 4 weeks and I will be moaning about not being able to sit down or lie on my front.

Tjuice how are you love. Not seen you much lately are you busy at work still??

I hope everyone else is healthy and well tonight.

Janus · 27/04/2008 19:59

Huge congratulations to Dondons, beautiful name too (it's on our shortlist too!!). I hope you enjoying little Amelie!
KD, all I can say is it's normal but that doesn't really help I suppose. It is a major milestone when you get that first scan done, can you have an early one? I had one at 6.5 weeks and again at 11, certainly helped me. The other major thing was coming on here and asking loads of questions, this thread is amazingly helpful. Wishing you lots of luck.
Barb, good luck to you as well, as I've just said, this thread is so helpful so do post on here with any worries as someone is always around.
Daisy, that's way too scary, I hope you are dealing with your shock now and that little one is fully recovered.

Gosh - have never done this before - stage fright!!
Thanks for your lovely welcomes
Things seem to be going o.k so far but can't help but worry. I dreamt the other night that I had the scan and there was nothing there so I got up and did another preg test (which was pos) silly...
My mum was telling me off for being negative on the phone tonight so totally get where you're coming from Splishsplosh

makecakesnotwar · 28/04/2008 08:44

Welcome to KD and Barb...

Congrats to Dondons and her baby girl (can't wait for mine...only two weeks!)

Ronshar- pleased to hear you have a bump!

Have mw appointment today- they are coming to the house, no less. And dh left for work (he's got to go up north for a couple of days) with strict instructions for me not to go into labour!!! After eerything, I can't believe it's literally around the corner now.

Daisy- read about your daughter. Hope everything is better now.

ronshar · 28/04/2008 10:12

Two weeks! Cakes, two weeks. where has the time gone. Are you all ready to go. Bag packed with loads of stuff you will bring home having not used. Fingers crossed your little one waits for your DH return.

ronshar · 28/04/2008 10:16

Kd73, I thought I recognised you but was being very slow last night. as I was in exactly the same position as you only a few weeks ago I can send loads of sympathy in your direction. It does get easier with every day that you are still pregnant. I think I wasted about 10 wee sticks just trying to tell myself it was real. This was over the space of about 3 weeks!! Nuts I tell you, Nuts.
