HI Smiles - that is good news for you today! Hurrah for Tidgy! It's not nice having to go to those scans alone, is it? I'm still having a brown discharge since Sat, but at least the cramping has settled. My scan yesterday to check all was ok showed that Bump had grown to 7.4, but no heart beat yet, so I've to keep my appointment on Friday for yet another scan!

There are a lot of weird aches and pains which I can't recall with my ds which like you was over 5 years ago! I'm also 39, so I've other 'older' aches and pains too!!!! But in answer to your query, yes sharp pains which I'm putting down as growing pains too.

I too am lazing on one of our Italian leather sofas, watching the Lord Of The Rings trilogy!!

smilesattheweekend · 01/04/2008 16:41

Thanks Divedaisy - good to hear from someone - it has been rather quiet this afternoon. DH has just phoned and is on his way home, explained all that has happened since he left the house at 5am - he was obviously worried and asked about how much blood, what colour, pains etc - did we have pains before etc etc ahh bless. I cried on the phone, was so releived to hear from him and hormones etc.

Luckily had a tummy scan today, at one point I thought she was going to get dildo cam out but she could see everything without doing one which I was relieved about. Sorry you have been having bleeding too - will be thinking of your on Friday at your scan.

I do love my sofa, I think about it in the day whilst at work and can't wait to get home, put on my comfy clothes and cuddle up with DS watching Lazytown (or Walker the Texas Ranger) depending on what we are in the mood for.
X

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG.
I am just off for my Nuchal scan. I am terrified what happens if it is the same as last year. What will I doo if I have no baby again. I am shaking with nerves. This baby buisness is begin to really get on my nerves. I was a normal person before. I have had two children for crying out loud. Any one would think I was a 12 year old the way I am feeling today.

Sorry for the crap post but my darling DH would think I have finally lost the plot if I told him how scared I am feeling. I know you always understand the rantings of a pregnant lady.
Will let you know later.

DonDons · 02/04/2008 11:04

good luck ronny xxx

cricri · 02/04/2008 11:05

Fingers crossed all is well Ronshar. It's totally understandable that you feel nervous after your past experiences - I was petrified a couple of weeks ago when I had my early scan that nothing would be seen on the screen again and cried with relief when the sonographer picked up the bean. Really hoping it's the same for you. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

babycakes26 · 02/04/2008 11:17

Hi fellow knicker checkers!!
Just dropped in to see if anyone has any experience of using progesterone supplements and stopping them?? I have had two previous mcs and this time my doc put me on progesterone at 5 weeks. I have been taking these ever since and happily I am now almost 14 wks pg!!! I have been coming off the progesterone gradually for the last 2 weeks and I am about to take my final dose today but as you can imagine I am extremely paranoid with my past history of mc. I am 39 and this is my first pegnancy and so I am panicking at every strong ache and pain

Sure my knicker checking will become a bit obsessive in the next few weeks - any experiences much welcomed - thanks x

babycakes26 · 02/04/2008 11:19

By the way Ronshar - the best of luck with the scan - I know exactly how you feel - I was a nervous wreck and didn't belive it when we saw the heartbeat - I was convinced there would be nothing there as I have never had a good scan experience. I so hope all is well for you - everything crossed

Good luch Ronny. Hope everyone else is doing OK.

Just to let you know my lovely GP saw me and sent me for an early scan. We went in yesterday and it was so nerve wracking. But it is good news- everything is OK and I am 9 wks not 7 wks!! I'm so pleased. It means that what i thought was AF clearly wasn't. Now have to wait untl week 20 for another scan! i don't know if i will be able to stay calm for that long!

ronshar · 02/04/2008 13:47

Yipee. All ok measured 13+5. Baby looked massive on the screen. Nuchal measurement was 1.5-1.7. So all good there. Little monkey didnt want to be measured. He didnt mind being admired but when it came to the money shot I had to do a very ungraceful bum in the air wiggle about to get the little monkey to roll over. My flabby bits were working hard!!
I also have a 5cm cyst on my left ovary. I had the same with DD1 so no surprise. Although not as big as this one.
They will keep an eye on it. I am not worried because I am HAVING A BABY. Yeah happy days.

goingfor3 · 02/04/2008 13:50

babycakes26 I was also taking progesterone and stopped taking them at around 14 weeks, I took them every other day for about a week before totally stopping. I'm 32 weeks now so it has all been fine since stopping. I do remeber being really worried about stopping so really understand how you feel. GOOD LUCK!!!!

smilesattheweekend · 02/04/2008 13:50

Congratulations ronshar! Can't wait to get to 13 weeks - just taking each day as it comes, do you feel relieved?

X hugs

goingfor3 · 02/04/2008 13:51

FAb news about the scan lulu1414 and Ronshar!

babycakes26 · 02/04/2008 13:51

Oh Ronshar congrats!!! Wonderful news - you are pretty much the exact same day as me as I am 13+5 today x

babycakes26 · 02/04/2008 13:53

oh goingfor3 thx for that - I am 14 weeks on Friday - have reduced dose in last week to one pessary every day and a half - paranoid or what! I am going to go cold turkey over the weekend - aaaargh!!!! Good luck by the way 32 weeks wow xxx

ronshar · 02/04/2008 14:19

Thanks ladies It is a huge relief. I know that until baby arrives we are not safe but it is enough for now.
Babycakes excellent we can stress together

makecakesnotwar · 02/04/2008 14:46

Great news Ronshar- I was always terrified before my scans.

Great news too Lulu...9 weeks means only 31 to go! You could always arrange a private scan if you can't wait- 20 weeks is such a long way from 9- or blag it at EPDU when you get near 12 weeks...

Very unsettled feeling today...have been quite insanely checking that I know how to use everything- pushchair, breast pump, baby sling etc. Do you think this is nesting? Is it a sign???

Saw mw yesterday who referred me to Obsterician to talk about early delivery...SPD now so bad I need to see GP about pain management (great phrase...do you think it's too early to start an epidural??) and walk with a stick, so they are monitoring me quite closely. When I am not in floods of tears, I am just so excited to nearly have a baby that I don't give a flying...fig about stupid malfunctioning pelvis. I'm having a baby. An actual baby!!

Sorry- told you I'd gone a bit mental...

DonDons · 02/04/2008 14:55

brilliant news ronshar and you too lulu

big hugs to you makecakes - sorry you are in pain but the end is near at least! probably a little bit early to start the epi though lol

just eaten half a pineapple and am stuffing raspberry leaf tablets down my neck....

hi ladies

good luck, dondons - very exciting

and makecakes - can't believe how time has flown. so sorry you are in this much agony, hope the doctors can help with pain management but it will be worth it. i haven't even assembled my pram yet but will soon (anyone else superstitious about that?).

how do you practice with the breastpump? i bought one (just a manual) and know that its a lot about technique so may have to get it out of its box and have a play with it.

hope everyone else is doing okay. i have a little pain deep in my left buttock so will go to the chiropractor on monday. surely just growing pains and aches?

perkypopsy · 02/04/2008 16:41

Hi Everyone, nice to hear some good news...

Ronny Hooray - I just knew this would be the one - feels like I had a scan too - am so excited for you (get off the phone!!!)

babycakes I took progesterone from weeks 7-13 - god I hated it - so messy and itchy and yucky - I was told to take until 12 weeks so i think I just stopped one day when i couldn't stand anymore even though I had 5 left

had email through from what to expect.com that my PA is sure to have read - can't wait to be able to tell her - roll on Friday - but also oh god i don't want to tell my boss arghhhhhh (we had ANOTHER conversation about the budget today and how staff costs are crippling us and how maternity leave has eaten into our budget cos it is so good here - 6 weeks full, up to 6 months half PLUS SMP - he is never going to re-employ me (sweating at thought of not being able to buy molton brown shower gel anymore emoticon)

makecakes - not long to go OH MY GOD - we should change your name to nearlytimetotakecreambunoutofoven or something simple like that
