just that really . Partner is in a custody battle and socials are involved with him and his kids mum. I just found out I’m pregnant again (first with my current partner , I have one from previous relationship) no socials were involved with me, but because they’re involved with his other kids will socials be involved with this new baby ?

Have you met this woman or are you simply believing everything your P has told you about her?

The whole situation has red flags all over it.

LambriniBobinIsleworth · 27/11/2023 20:13

I have to say, on balance, I wouldn't want to get in the middle of any SS involvement. I'd be having an abortion and getting gone, stat.

Really?

The OP’s sex life is none of your business. Accidental pregnancies happen across the board and she isn’t your teenager that you need to lecture.

How she got pregnant (presumably the usual way) is far less important than what she chooses to do next.

How she ended up pregnant is very important.

Women are often coerced into accepting unprotected sex.

This wasn't a planned pregnancy. She barely knows this bloke. How did unprotected sex happen when her other child is so young?

What a complete mess.

If I were you, I’d not be continuing that pregnancy. Your child is eight weeks old! Give them a chance before making more.

Her child is less than six weeks old.....

However I'm assuming Ireland by the posts.

Abortion is legal in Ireland up to 12 weeks amd afterwards if mother's life is in danger.

TheShellBeach · 27/11/2023 20:18

OP has said she's in Northern Ireland.

Gnomegnomegnome · 27/11/2023 20:21

Stop saying ‘socials’ it’s making my teeth itch.

Holly2285 · 27/11/2023 20:21

It really depends what the reasons are for social care being involved in his children. If it's do with their mum, then you and your children would not be involved. But if your partner is seen as a risk then yes you and your children will end up involved as well but as a separate case as separate households.

If you read the thread.......... all these questions are answered.

TheShellBeach · 27/11/2023 20:27

I don't understand the timeline here. The baby is less than six weeks old. The pill isn't prescribed until the mother is three weeks postnatal.

OP what prompted you to take a pregnancy test? You can't possibly have missed a period yet.

Nowherenew · 27/11/2023 20:30

I’ve just had a quick google and it shows that abortion is legal in Northern Ireland.

You need to book a scan asap to find out if you actually are pregnant and then get an abortion.

If you like this guy then wait until he’s stopped having social services involved, before even thinking about having a child with him.
Make sure you are using the pill and condoms to be extra safe.

Snowdropanddiddums · 27/11/2023 20:40

Are you 100% sure you’re pregnant OP? Could it be pregnancy hormones still from your first?

Xmaswomble · 27/11/2023 21:00

Yeah your timeline makes no sense. You can’t have been in the pill this soon after birth and you can’t have missed a period. Can you clarify?

TheShellBeach · 27/11/2023 21:07

You also said you'd been on the pill ever since you'd met, which was when you were four months pregnant.
That doesn't make sense either. Women don't take the pill when they're pregnant.

ConnieC2001 · 27/11/2023 21:11

Did I say I was on the pill since I met him ? If I did then that’s wrong . I started taking the pill 4 weeks post partum .
my baby is 8 weeks old !

And at what point in that time did you get pregnant?

oldfatandreadyforarevamp · 27/11/2023 21:22

Your baby isn't 8 weeks old, it was 12 days old on 1st November?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 27/11/2023 21:24

You posted on the 28th October about your 8day old baby. That means your baby is a little over 5 weeks.

If my partner has kids with social involvement will they be involved with mine ?

You haven't had time to miss a period yet.

momsybear · 27/11/2023 21:44

This is all a bit weird...

I do remember when I had my first missing how special I felt when I was pregnant?

Can't see why you'd lie about your child's age when seeking genuine advice for them 😕

On the off chance this is real, don't expect your current boyfriend will let it go as much as DD1's dad- you might end up with a lifetime of pain. And SS involvement. For your and your (very) young daughter's sake I hope this isn't a genuine pregnancy

TheShellBeach · 27/11/2023 21:53

This pregnancy wasn’t at all planned as we only just started dating

You said this, OP - and also that you'd been going out with this man since you were four months pregnant.
Which is it?

TheShellBeach · 27/11/2023 21:58

So it looks like your baby was born on 20th October.
That makes it just over five weeks old.

Chill out! We get it, OPs story doesn’t match up to her other posts. You’ve done 8 posts on this page alone about it. Other threads are also available.

It's difficult to believe that the pill failed you twice in such a short space of time. The most common reason for 'pill failure' is user error. So in the future you may want to look at a long term contraception such as the implant or Mirena. It all sounds very chaotic for your children.
