Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

Sympathies to those having trouble with the existing kids while heavily pregnant. I know the feeling, my 21 month old is switching back and forth from lovely to a total pain! We have tantrums, screaming, not eating like he used to (plus he's had a virus for the last week or two bless him). But I'm finding I'm too big to wrestle him into the car seat or the buggy, and I'm struggling to carry him for any distances now.

My gorgeous dog is going to daycare a bit more often also, as I'm struggling with longer walks with toddler and him and he needs more stimulation and exercise than we're giving him at the moment.

tinyracoon · 27/11/2023 11:08

@1992H

I am really hoping too. Where I live there's no birthing centre so it's home or hospital. I don't have anything against the hospital, I just would like to ideally be in my own environment if I can.

How did it go with your son? It's my first baby so I know there's a higher chance of having to transfer in but I'm keen to try. The only thing is my midwives keep saying they're really understaffed so they might not be able to send someone and I'll have to go in.

1992H · 27/11/2023 11:13

@tinyracoon really well with the last one. My first was also supposed to be a homebirth but had to go in as my waters went a couple days before and labour wasn’t starting, but with my second I had a lovely home waterbirth. I hated being stuck in after my first so it was so nice to be at home, straight in my own shower and then a few hours later we popped out for breakfast.

currently in my area home births are only staffed 8.30am-8.30pm-but a new homebirth specific team has been recruited and should be in place by then 🤞🤞

good luck and I hope it goes to plan for you! I think it’s around 50:50 iirc (it’s been 6 years since my first and I looked!) success rate for first babies being sucessfully
born at home.

Mummyme87 · 27/11/2023 11:14

No home birth for me @tinyracoon i just have too many risk factors, also I give birth where I work where I feel safe and comfortable. Are you planning for a HB? I’ve seen a good few ❤️

Mummyme87 · 27/11/2023 11:56

Also had midwife appt, bloods repeated for itching and iron studies. Baby feels breech again. Have cardiology this afternoon. Next appts 19th December for scan and consultant appt, then birth plan appt 21st December 😬

WitcheryDivine · 27/11/2023 12:03

Glad they seem to be looking after you @Mummyme87 - interesting that you say you think the baby is breech again. Mine was head down the last couple of appointments but the movements feel really different now and the shape, I was wondering whether babies ever come out of the head down position once they're there.

Mummyme87 · 27/11/2023 12:08

@WitcheryDivine yes they roll and wriggle until eventually settling and engaging, that may not be until term. More babies you have aswell the less stable they tend to be

buckingmad · 27/11/2023 15:30

Motivation at an all time low! WFH today as DD too poorly for nursery. Starting to feel really uncomfortable sitting up as there is a lovely little foot resting against the bottom of my rib cage.

DD's had a nice long nap that I should have done loads of work during but instead I've been ordering baby stuff. Got myself an Elvie curve (let down catcher) and a labour comb.

I had a haaka for DD as I had a very aggressive let down with her but hated having to hold it. Put too much trust in the suction a few times and it would pop off and spill milk all down me. These elvie ones are a bit more expensive but they fit in your bra with or without a bit of suction so hoping I can build up a bit of a stash without pumping so I can go on a spa day for my 30th birthday in February. I had an oversupply with DD so don't want to touch a proper pump until at least 6 weeks.

I've got midwife next week (35 weeks) then not sure what after that. First sweep booked in for 2nd Jan (39 weeks). They did offer me one a week before but it's Christmas week. 8 days left at work now!

Mushroo · 27/11/2023 15:41

@buckingmad 100% with you on the motivation. I’ve written about 2 sentences at work today. I keep looking at baby stuff!

12 days left at work……!

PartRadish · 27/11/2023 16:23

I was full of motivation last night. Sorted all of the clothes, sheets, blankets, muslins etc out to wash but have only managed one load today. Feel like all of the motivation and energy has been zapped out of me overnight. Just trying to muster up the energy to go and sort tea. Younger two are being absolute horrors to each other this afternoon and I'm so sick of hearing them bicker, I'm seriously considering going and hiding in the shed for 5 minutes peace 🤯

Anyone else suffering with with rib flare pain? Its one of the few pregnancy things I hadn't forgotten because so horrible 😭

Bims2019 · 27/11/2023 16:23

What with appointments and thinking about baby stuff all most of the time, I'm also done on the motivation front. So hard to concentrate! 3 weeks to go til I finish, I know it'll go quickly but 😮‍💨 we're so close now!

Hummusanddipdip · 27/11/2023 17:29

Midwife and consultant both asked if I'd be willing to try a home birth... no thanks, although if Peterborough can't take me I can well see myself giving birth on the side of the A1 on the way to Hinchingbrooke 🤣

I've got sore hips, lower back and constant lower stomach ache. I can't bend over without feeling sick or dizzy, everything is loosening up, so I think my body is getting ready to expel him.

Motivation peaked this weekend, I got 4 loads of washing done and 2 loads of baby clothes, I didn't pack my bags last night, but managed to pull 3 outfits out for him, a tiny baby one incase he's little and then a newborn if he decides not to be small 🤣

Had a good day at work today, several assessments with children tomake sure we've got the correct support in place for them ready for the new year. Started handing all my intervention notes over to my SENCo so they know where the children are at as well as the class teacher so they're joined up when they sit down with my cover/replacement as I won't be back until the autumn term.

WitcheryDivine · 27/11/2023 19:33

See if you can manage that on 25th December @Hummusanddipdip and you'll get into the local paper and possibly a free donkey too.

Has anyone else got this bloody awful cough/cold? That combined with reflux is making things a lot harder than they should be.

Redpanda21 · 27/11/2023 19:48

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 You’ve just described my 21 month old to a T! 😂.
Seem to have regressed on the eating front, far too many tantrums and foot stomping, throws things, refuses to sit in high chair/car seat and goes stiff as a board. I’m far too pregnant to be wrestling a toddler.

lucya66 · 27/11/2023 20:17

@PartRadish yes to rib flare! Awful, every day for weeks. Feels like they’re burning

Hummusanddipdip · 27/11/2023 20:24

Oh god, can you imagine @WitcheryDivine 🤣 I'd rather not do that Christmas day haha. Although the road should be pretty clear...

I did have an awful cold at the beginning of the month (turned out to be covid, just heavy cold was my symptom) full on stuffed nose, sore throat filled with phlegm and a hacking cough. Every time I sneezed or coughed I peed myself for a week (weak pelvic floor thanks to first child and this one likes to squeeze and hit my bladder) was an awful week and a bit! Think it took about 10 days to clear fully

Ds seems to be ok at the moment, although he has started to fight bedtimes with all his might. Genuinely awake past 10 for the past 3 nights... tonight, passed out on the sofa at half 6 🤷‍♀️

Rabbitrescue · 27/11/2023 21:06

Hi ladies!
I remember following thread 1 - but hesitated commenting as I did not want to jinx our miracle 🙈!
Cant believe it’s real! I am 34 weeks today Reading posts is lovely- hope everyone’s symptoms ease soon. You also reminded me car seats come with newborn inserts 🙈
Has anyone bought a decent/ longer bf friendly nightie? And if so where from?

buckingmad · 27/11/2023 23:55

@Rabbitrescue i bought one with buttons down the front down to below boob from primark. Really soft! Not a “breastfeeding” one but it will do the job and was so cheap.

Mummyme87 · 28/11/2023 06:21

@Rabbitrescue I got a maternity nightie with buttons from primark and also two button down pjs from primark non maternity

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/11/2023 06:34

@Rabbitrescue I liked the Seraphine loungewear and they've got a sale atm www.seraphine.com/en-gb/maternity-clothes/maternity-pyjamas-nightwear/

just really soft natural fibres

Hummusanddipdip · 28/11/2023 07:04

@Rabbitrescue also primark button nighties. I sized up so I didn't need to undo and do up to put on, but could undo buttons to feed. They're really soft.

H&m also had a few on their website when I was looking.

Dannic2018 · 28/11/2023 07:58

@PartRadish thank you for mentioning about the rib pain because by god it’s not nice, I get it later in the day and I just need to take my bra off, sometimes that relieves it other days nope it just burns and hurts all night and I can’t get comfortable.
Did too much walking yesterday everything was hurting my bedtime but today is a new day and still lots to do.
I’ve also decided I don’t like Xmas shopping with a toddler and heavily pregnant, hoping I can get loads online 🤣

Gremlin84 · 28/11/2023 08:19

It’s official- our bedroom will not be redecorated by Christmas. DH has been faffing about not contacting the decorator for about a month and now he has they’re booked up until early feb. Trying not to be too grumpy as he’s had a lot to deal with recently but he did agree to be responsible for sorting this and we’ll now have a new baby in a half done room. And need to probably decamp to my parents’ because baby + paint fumes is not sensible.

Luhou · 28/11/2023 09:56

@Gremlin84 what's he like with a paint brush? 🎨

PartRadish · 28/11/2023 12:09

Just sat waiting for my Consultant appointment and there are people coming out of the scanning rooms and booking their 20 week scan for the end of January and it just struck me that we'll all either have or be very close to having babies by then..!
