Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

Sorry to hear about the OC @JaffaCake123 i don’t really have any pearls of wisdom to calm it down. What about chalomine lotion?

@sashastuck least an IOL on your birthday will mean you get to keep your own day most likely!

RaspberryTime · 19/12/2023 17:13

Due to high blood pressure I’ve been told that I need to be induced at 39 weeks or before if my BP rises above 150/.. again. Whilst I don’t love the idea of an induction, it’s the sweep beforehand that is causing me the real upset - I feel I could cope with the induction process but the sweep terrifies me. Does anyone know whether you can opt not to have the sweep and go straight to induction ?

Mummyme87 · 19/12/2023 17:20

@sashastuck I've just had a call from diabetes team with an appt for this Friday 🧐

Mummyme87 · 19/12/2023 17:21

@RaspberryTime you absolutely don’t need to have the sweep, it’s optional. Although wouldn’t say it was any worse than the induction examinations. But definitely don’t have it if you don’t want it

Inmydreams88 · 19/12/2023 17:21

Baby has been playing with my bladder for awhile now and I'm up 2/3 times in the night to wee. But now I've started having mild sharp pains that feel like they are in my bladder. Not really sure if it's lightening crotch that people keeping talking about? The pain feels like my bladder though, not vaginal. Anyone else had this?

RaspberryTime · 19/12/2023 17:28

Thanks @Mummyme87, that’s reassuring to know. I don’t know what it is about the thought of it but it just makes me want to be sick on the spot!

Lilothblos · 19/12/2023 18:14

Sounds like there might be a few babies coming very soon, looking forward to hearing the good news from people.

Is anyone else getting sore from baby kicks? Mine has been in the same position with legs sticking out to the side for ages now, it’s getting so sore where she keeps kicking / stretching her legs out in exactly the same spot! I keep having to push her feet back in 😂

sashastuck · 19/12/2023 18:24

Omg @Mummyme87 that’s infuriating. I’m happy you’ve got an appointment but wow!! I spoke to Ines and she basically apologised that I can’t get a sooner appt and to call up to ask for a cancellation. A week of blood sugar monitoring after my appt on the 27th means I’ll be informed I’ve got GD (if I do) at 40 weeks 😂 really not impressed!

Gremlin84 · 19/12/2023 18:54

@Inmydreams88 glad I’m not the only one rotating between a couple of things!

@PartRadish great to hear stitch removal went smoothly.

@JaffaCake123 sorry to hear about the itching. My friend had that and literally the only thing that helped a tiny bit was staying cool and wearing minimal clothes. Not super practical in winter though 😕

Mummyme87 · 19/12/2023 18:56

@sashastuck its very odd when you said you had glucose in your urine aswell. It’s just the lack of plan as trust policy is to offer IOL at 39weeks for AC above 95th centile.
are you seeing mw on Friday did you say? Ask her again. My appt Friday seemingly isn’t a clinic as the mw has no room she’s just hoping to see me somewhere.

Onedayatatime24 · 19/12/2023 19:37

Since yesterday, I've had really bad lower back ache and a weird feeling in my uterus area (like where you'd get period pains). Not cramping as such but that kind of nauseous feeling you sometimes get when you're due on. Mentioned to the midwife today and she said it's probably just baby's head getting engaged but I feel so strange tonight and can't put my finger on why. I'm 36+2, is this normal or should I be worried about early labour? 😬

sashastuck · 19/12/2023 20:06

@Mummyme87 she also told me on the phone that they don’t offer IOL for just AC measuring large (even though mine is larger than 95th centile) - said that really my baby isn’t big enough for IOL without diabetes because he doesn’t have a big head? I’m not convinced, feeling a bit defeated. Will come armed with questions for midwife!!

Matildahoney · 19/12/2023 20:16

@Mummyme87 sorry to be a pain, can you have a look at this please? Consultant today said head and abdomen aren't above 97th centile, yet they're off the chart, are you able to advise please?

Due January - Part 9!
JaffaCake123 · 19/12/2023 20:25

Thank you @Mummyme87 I have tried lots of lotions and potions but not calamine yet so will try it.
@Gremlin84 good call about the minimal clothing, luckily I have nowhere to be in the evenings for the foreseeable so can sit around in pjs 😁

Lilothblos · 19/12/2023 20:28

@Onedayatatime24 I’ve had a similar feeling on a couple of evenings recently, think it’s just the body getting ready rather than early labour unless it ramps up.

Mummyme87 · 19/12/2023 20:52

@sashastuck definitely go to mw armed with questions. Maybe ask her to speak to one of the consultants also.

@Matildahoney cant say of above 97th centile but definitely above 95th for HC and AC

Matildahoney · 19/12/2023 20:56

@Mummyme87 thank you! She just said all looks normal! Which seems of to me, cos for at least the last 6 did or so I've been told baby is big! Would it be because the growth is consistent they're not concerned?
I didn't have my results to hand when she called me otherwise I'd have queried it!
Should have been having a midwife appt tomo, but that's been double booked so I've been cancelled 🙄

FirstT1meMum · 19/12/2023 21:05

@JaffaCake123 just wondering if you mind me asking about your Cholestasis?

I had some really abnormal ALT results and so ended up in a Google rabbit hole (really wish I hadn't seen the results tbh).

How severe is the itching? I suffer with eczema and I'm not more itchy, only really when I get too warm but thats not unusual for me, than before but just not sure how bad it gets with Cholestasis.

Mummyme87 · 19/12/2023 21:05

@Matildahoney EFW is within normal range technically with features going over that. Trusts do different things, it’s hard to compare. Inducing because of big baby alone isn’t really evidence based, it increases other risks

LozzieLoo · 19/12/2023 21:28

I’m another who’s looking like a big baby is on the cards, second growth scan Friday to see if he’s still tracking at 97th centile!

When are people starting colostrum harvesting? I’m 36 weeks on Thursday but the midwife didn’t mention anything about it on Monday so thinking of buying some syringes from Amazon.
This might be a daft question, but I understand that it’s difficult at the beginning to get much at all so can you keep collecting in the same syringe or do you need a new syringe every time you try to collect?

lucya66 · 19/12/2023 21:53

@LozzieLoo i use a new syringe each time I collect but I collect every 2 days or so. I get anywhere from 0.4-0.7 ml and freeze them.

JaffaCake123 · 19/12/2023 21:56

Hi @FirstT1meMum , happy to share my experience.
With my first pregnancy the itching was not too bad, but there was no rash with it and the itching was all over, not just hands and feet. It was worse in the evenings.
This time the itching started over the course of one evening and is constant, and waking me up at night.
If you are worried then ask for a blood test where they look at your bile acid levels, then you should know for sure.

Hummusanddipdip · 19/12/2023 21:57

@LozzieLoo they say from 36 weeks, it isn't necessarily something your midwife would mention to do.

Definitely use a new syringe everytime. And I'd suggest sterilising a pot and expressing into that, simply because filling a syringe from a pot is so much easier than trying to suck up a puddle on your boob.

FirstT1meMum · 19/12/2023 22:07

@JaffaCake123 thank you so much!

It's not a constant itch or anything but I'm having repeat bloods on Friday so will see if they can Whack it on too just to rule it out, just trying to get to the bottom of these dodgy bloods haha.

I literally don't itch until I think about if I am itchy or not 🤦🏼‍♀️

Salamander91 · 19/12/2023 22:37

My baby is measuring around the 85th centile according to my growth scans although all my babies have been 99th+ lol so I don't believe it. He'll be born tomorrow so I'll let you all know how accurate it was. In maternity overnight ready for my elcs in the morning 😱
