Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

@EL27 been lazy and not started this time. I found going from the back worked best with ds, so reached up between my legs from my bum. You may find yourself doing the massage a bit back to front, but it worked (I think) I did tear but that was more my vaginal opening and due to the speed of arrival (20 minutes from arriving at hospital to birth)

Started harvesting colostrum today, about 5 minutes from each edit breast got me 4ml, hoping this is a good sign for when he gets here. Been adamant he'd arrive tomorrow for a while... no sign haha, few people have said next week, only because ds was a 37 weeker, and that's next Tuesday 🤷‍♀️

Went back to work today, felt much better and stronger. No shouty Mrs Dipdip 😁 although it was the last day of "real learning" we've got fun stuff for the last 3 days, church, in class Christmas parties, Christmas lunch with children, panto etc. Not a stressful as usual end of term.

And had some good news ref mum, with bad news ref house 🫣 I have to laugh or I'll cry... plumber came to service the boiler yesterday, and condemned it (so rusty inside) so that's being replaced next week 🤣

I thought baby would be here tomorrow (felt like it since October) but no signs, lots of people think next week as I'll be 37 weeks and ds came bang on 37, which would be Tuesday 🤷‍♀️

Glad you've been reassured @FirstT1meMum

Lightningrain · 14/12/2023 22:19

@EL27 I was going to have a go at it last night after a bath but I couldn’t reach! I read afterwards that laying on a couple of pillows might help but haven’t tried again.

I know someone that did it and still had quite a bad tear so wondering whether it’s worth the effort! It’s definitely worth a try though to see whether you can manage it as I’ve read a lot of positives.

Mummyme87 · 14/12/2023 22:22

I tried perineal massage first time but it was impossible to get round. Really wanted to try the AniBall or EpiNo but hadn’t got round to buying one. The evidence is there that it works, just something else to do really.

MrsJ6921 · 14/12/2023 23:41

Well what a day I’ve had. Today I’ve had my consultant appt and growth scan, my chunky monkey is est 9lb 6oz at 36+6 and I’ve agreed to be induced on Monday. However, my blood pressure was high on 4x readings and I’ve spent 5 hours in triage. Luckily my bloods, urine etc were all fine and my blood pressure started to decrease but was borderline for medication. Back tomorrow and Sunday to be monitored before my induction on Monday morning.

suz2285 · 15/12/2023 06:06

@EL27 @Lightningrain @Mummyme87 I realised weeks ago I'd never reach so I bought the perimom tool... I've done it a couple of times so far, it's not exactly comfy, either reaching there or doing the massage but I'm also swollen everywhere there too 😂 still trying it tho! The tool was almost £40! Reduced to £31 or something in the Black Friday sale 🙈 it better make a difference haha

@Hummusanddipdip nice that's a lot of colostrum!
hope you're doing ok 🥰

@Lightningrain @FirstT1meMum I've also been in triage re blood pressure last week, luckily it came straight down and no issues so far... again I have whitecoat syndrome and when you're thinking it's high then it goes high!

Home readings are fine, I've got midwife next week and desperate for it to be ok so I can go away for Xmas 😂 my hypnobirth breathing brought it right down in triage, I put earplugs in and zoned out and it came down really fast! Also had bloods and urine dip and all fine! 🤞🤞

@MrsJ6921 ahh Monday is so close! Best of luck to you! Be interesting to see what weight baby actually is in the end given the accuracy of those scans! 😍

Mummyme87 · 15/12/2023 07:31

@MrsJ6921 good luck for Monday, hope you have a relaxing weekend to get your head around their impending arrival!

feel utterly horrendous today. Heavy head cold, probs Covid knowing my luck 🥴 got my itching bloods follow up today

FirstT1meMum · 15/12/2023 07:45

@MrsJ6921 ah good luck for Monday and your monitoring this weekend! Hope you have some time to rest and prepare over the next couple of days!

@suz2285 I think I definitely must have something similar because it came down but then when a different person came it went back up again!

Seems this week has been a funny week for babies everywhere. Lots of the women at the antenatal clinic yesterday were sent to triage for one thing or another and a few people were being induced!

Salamander91 · 15/12/2023 08:16

@MrsJ6921 Good luck for Monday! It'll be interesting to see how accurate the growth scan was. Chunky babies are adorable 🥰 my youngest was 10lb 7oz

Dannic2018 · 15/12/2023 08:39

@MrsJ6921 good luck for Monday, love a chunky baba x

Was awake so many times last night, bump one big hard rock and she was in a funny position but everytime I woke up she was moving so paranoia kicks in, but she really isn’t very active during the night, always starts around 5:30 and she’s moving now but god even now it’s a worry isn’t it!
37 weeks today 😳

Luhou · 15/12/2023 09:03

Sounds like we're all having a rough time. Sounds like we may have some babies in the next week! Exciting.

I have just booked a pregnancy massage for tomorrow afternoon. I think we should make a pact to try carve ourselves out an hour at least of relaxation over the weekend if possible! I know it's easier said than done.

MrsJ6921 · 15/12/2023 09:08

Thank you for all your well wishes! Luckily we feel quite organised and I feel quite smug that I had planned all my appointments this weekend - nails, pedi and lashes so I’m over the moon I can still have these done 😂.

But thanks to pregnancy insomnia I spent the early hours of this morning ordering her a Christmas stocking and a Christmas outfit.

In all honesty I don’t think my body would have made it to 40 weeks and I truly believe giving the induction a try is my best chance.

suz2285 · 15/12/2023 09:20

@MrsJ6921 great planning! have a relaxing weekend! 😁

I cannot believe we're about to have babies soon! Crazy!
If anyone wants to post new baby pics on the facebook group you are more than welcome! 😂

Mummyme87 · 15/12/2023 09:38

@Luhou I wish I could have some relaxation time this weekend! We are test driving a car tomorrow morning at 9am then driving to Birmingham for the weekend to stay in an air b&b with my uni friends and their partners/kids

Luhou · 15/12/2023 09:50

@Mummyme87 I know what it's like! Still hopefully some quality family time for you and a step closer to sorting your car!

I cannot wait to finish work!

Mummyme87 · 15/12/2023 10:11

@Luhou yeah the car bit I’m happy about!!! And seeing friends wilL be fine, oven pizza for the kids and take away for adults and I have no interest in doing anything. In our group I tend to be the organiser and would sort everyone out but I just have no room in my head or energy for that

Luhou · 15/12/2023 10:28

@Mummyme87 sounds lovely! Enjoy!

FirstT1meMum · 15/12/2023 10:30

@MrsJ6921 I love that! Sounds like a wonderful weekend and a lovely way to get ready!

@Luhou definitely think that sounds like something I can get on board with! Yesterday I think was the wake up call I needed to bring me back down to earth with a bump that I'm not invincible and I am 9 months pregnant and I should probably slow down and relax!

Mummyme87 · 15/12/2023 10:53

@FirstT1meMum it’s hard isn’t it. I also think the time of year doesn’t help, just a lot going on it’s hard to sit back and relax.

@Dannic2018 last couple of nights baby has been mega active here aswell, he’s usually quiet. Apparently middle of the night is now party time

Flossiepot · 15/12/2023 10:54

Hi everyone, just checking in! Hope you're all ok.
Had a lot of drama here this week - 36 week scan and baby is still breech with no intentions of moving amniotic fluid was low so they won't do an ecv meaning I'm now set for a section in the next 2 weeks 🙈 Anyone whose had/ having a section is there anything I need to have prepared in my bag that's handy? I'm all packed for a natural birth really so not sure. I'm now finished in work as of yesterday after a lot of drama and tears this week as they have been nothing but difficult with me - had my first proper nights sleep in a long time though so finally some time to prepare for our little boy! ☺️

Kalodin · 15/12/2023 10:59

You can still use most of your stuff for a csection @Flossiepot - I had one of those wooden combs which helped me massively, along with my aromatherapy, to keep me calm during the prep and again during it when I started to get anxious. I found staying relaxed and calm really helped make the birth beautiful for me. I also still had my husband doing the affirmations and massages etc (the Midwife did them too for me). Is there anything you wanted in particular during the vaginal birth? Could potentially happen at the csection too. We had delayed cord clamping at my request, even though she was so prem, they delivered her onto a hot bed next to me to keep her warm and work on her whilst she remained attached to the cord.

As for bags, high waisted but loose joggers are my fav. As we're these really loose fitting but high waisted cargos (loved all the pockets to keep things handy). Hand cream is a must too in hospital.

LittleAlien24 · 15/12/2023 11:39

@Mummyme87 hope you feeling better soon and your bloods are ok. Enjoy your weekend away and best of luck with the car
@MrsJ6921 good luck for Monday

@Flossiepot high waisted underwear so nothing rubs against your scar or even better the mesh ones so they not tight and are breathable. High waisted loose and soft pants for going home.

buckingmad · 15/12/2023 11:58

@Flossiepot i liked my pregnancy leggings because they went up and over the scan and kinda held everything in and supported it. I had an EMCS but was a lovely experience bar the last minute stress. They played music I asked for and apart from immediate checks I then got uninterrupted skin to skin.

had my pregnancy massage today and really recommend! Was so relaxing and my skin feels amazing now, I almost don’t want to shower for my Christmas do later 😂

Mummyme87 · 15/12/2023 12:18

@Flossiepot you can still have optimal cord clamping, immediate skin to skin, music playlist

Salamander91 · 15/12/2023 12:50

@Flossiepot Big pants! You won't want anything touching the scar area for a while. In my hospital they don't like you bringing too much stuff in before surgery because you're moved around a lot from theatre, post op then postnatal ward so I have a separate bag packed with things we'll need straight away and a separate bag that will stay in the car until I'm on postnatal.

Flossiepot · 15/12/2023 13:03

Ahhh amazing to know on the chord clamping - kinda worried all those options were off the table with the surgery. Thanks Ladies. Online looking for some big comfy pants now 👀
