Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

@TunnocksTCake so glad your midwife was reassuring and understanding! It's always so much better when they don't stick purely to what one piece of paper says.
Got it all out @Hummusanddipdip and today is a new day and having the morning off as we have a growth scan and consultant so hoping just a bit of a breather from work also helps to lighten the load.

@Onedayatatime24 totally with you on feeling like two people! Especially about work, I am so excited to be having the time off but constantly worrying about what will happen when I'm off!

Mushroo · 14/12/2023 08:49

Tired today! Had cramps from 3am - 5am and thought it was go time, but they seemed to have stopped so now I’m just tired and grumpy.

Really hoping it means not too long to go…

Onedayatatime24 · 14/12/2023 08:57

@FirstT1meMum work is sending me through a loop! Half of me is working as hard as possible to leave the team prepared and not struggling and scared they'll forget about me (stupid I know!). The other half of me is coasting by, doing bare minimum and thinking 'not my problem!'. Changes from hour to hour 😂

Luhou · 14/12/2023 08:57

@TunnocksTCake pleased you managed to get some reassurance. I am not ruling out a c section this time round, any signs of complications or need for an induction and that's my plan.

@Mushroo cramps seem to have been getting me around this time in the night too! Hopefully not much longer for you. I absolutely need baby to stay put until at least after Christmas as we are still having our kitchen done, which has turned the whole house upside down.

Cannot wait to finish work on Wednesday. Although 3 work days in a row could finish me off 🙈

Bims2019 · 14/12/2023 09:59

I've missed quite a lot this week, so sorry about the struggles some have been having and hope everyone is ok.

@FirstT1meMum hope you're feeling better today, sometimes a good cry really helps. It's a scary time especially when everything is new, so just look after yourself.

@Onedayatatime24 you've perfectly summed up how I feel at the moment, I was just saying to DH yesterday that I'm feeling pulled between Christmas, work and baby, and can't focus properly on any of them! Finishing work tomorrow which will help, and hoping to decorate a bit for Christmas over the weekend... Then I can maybe start this nesting that I've heard so much about 😅 hope you're ok, it's such a weird but exciting time.

@Mushroo I keep getting mild cramps and getting excited, think it's a bit soon but I guess you never know!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/12/2023 10:02

Exciting for those finishing work tomorrow!

Ugh just looked out of the window into our back garden. Someone has flytipped an old sofa and furniture in there. We are renovating so it's not secure, but just demoralising to have another thing to have to deal with, on top of the renovation etc. Plus our heating stopped working again, which doesn't help

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/12/2023 10:07

The renovation is on pause and we have no skips coming til Feb. I wonder how I can dispose of the stuff. I'll try the council first and see if I can pay for a collection

FirstT1meMum · 14/12/2023 10:26

@Onedayatatime24 I'm the same, working my backside off this week to make sure everything is in place and no one is left struggling when I go. Can't wait for this week be over and can start relaxing doing nice Christmas things with the kids next week!

@Bims2019 thank you ❤️ Feeling much better today. Just had growth scan and waiting to see the consultant. Sonographer said her growth has dipped but was still in normal so just a waiting game now to see what the Dr says! Sometimes I do think ignorance would be bliss! 🤣

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 oh no what an absolute pain!! Seems so ridiculous you will be left with the bill to pay to clear someone else's rubbish!!! How frustrating for you

LittleAlien24 · 14/12/2023 11:00

@am3017 congratulations, hope ye both doing well
@PartRadish sorry for yer loss and the tough night in triage but at least everything is ok with the baby
@TunnocksTCake i wouldn't worry about the measurements. Here they don't do the percentile thing, just measure the baby (head, legs etc) and say yes crowing perfectly
@Dannic2018 the sweet smell could be from thrush. I can't wear pantyliners at all or i get it straight away and one of my friends said she's the same. Fair play on wrapping the presents. I did it the other day and it's no fun with a big belly

Hi all. Sorry to see many of ye struggling. Hope ye feel better soon.

My emotions are all over the place as well. One days im ok that i can't control what builders are doing and next day im fit to kill them because they are so slow. Should be finishing with the ceiling only a few days before christmas. So i have few days to clean a massive house (cleaned kitchen table 3x and 20 minutes later it had layer of dust on it again) , move living room back and prepare for Christmas. I can't set up any baby stuff until maybe 2 to 1 weeks before he's born and this is making me anxious.
Plus last night i think some of my waters leaked, it didn't feel like pee plus is was odourless and colorless. Im not ready for him to come and my DH won't be home until next week Friday. That's making me cry as well because we have only 2 weeks left to experience this pregnancy together plus the 10 days we had in October.

buckingmad · 14/12/2023 11:12

@LittleAlien24 with my DD my waters definitely had a smell. They definitely weren't odourless but don't know if everyone is different!

Salamander91 · 14/12/2023 11:32

I've been struggling so much the past week or so with my back and stomach cramps and braxton hicks. I've just weighed myself and I've put on 10lbs in the last couple of weeks 😩 I'm really hoping it's fluid retention and I'm not about to have a 15lb baby 😅 guess it explains why I'm suddenly so uncomfortable though. 6 days until c section and it couldn't come any quicker!

Sorry so many others of you are struggling. This final stretch is rough.

LittleAlien24 · 14/12/2023 11:56

@buckingmad i hope it wasn't my waters leaking because im really not ready for him. With my first they broke my waters and they were fully green and second was planned c section so don't really know how normal waters should be. But he has gone really quiet since last night as well, i had a first night without toilet break.
@Salamander91 only 6 days. Perfect Christmas present. I will have csection as well but still no date, going to see anesthetist today

Luhou · 14/12/2023 11:59

@LittleAlien24 I feel you on the dust and the builders. I am just trying not to stress and letting it be. We're on takeaways and microwave meals for the next few days too.

Building work should coinside with me finishing work so here's to hoping for a couple of weeks to sort things before baby arrives. I currently have no time where I'm not either working or at home with DD 3 so beyond basic houswork struggling. It will be worth it in the end and can see my new kitchen taking shape

Mummyme87 · 14/12/2023 12:46

@LittleAlien24 if you think your waters have gone you should probably go to your maternity triage to confirm it as they will start making plans for birth in next day or so.

FirstT1meMum · 14/12/2023 12:52

Consultant wants a rescan in 2 weeks due to slow down in growth which seems to be proving problematic as there's no clinics due to christmas week. Although I'm happy she's happy induction isn't necessary at this moment and we will avoid unless necessary.

However I am now at triage due to high blood pressure. They gave me some tablets with the consultant and sent me up to be monitored so imagine I will be here all after when I eventually get taken through which could be at least an hour. It's so hot here, are maternity units always this warm?! 🥵

Onedayatatime24 · 14/12/2023 13:30

@Bims2019 it's so tough with so much going on! I get so overwhelmed and end up doing nothing which never helps 😂 DH has been cleaning a lot though so I think he seems to have got the nesting memo before me! Hopefully it kicks in for me at some point!

Good luck for your last day of work tomorrow, how are you feeling about it? I'm weirdly nervous to finish! Will be nice for you to have a good week before Christmas!

buckingmad · 14/12/2023 13:40

eek just 3.5 hours to go! So excited to be finished. Popped out for lunch and had to stop every few steps with lightning crotch. So excited for next Monday and Wednesday when DD is at nursery and my only plans are to do nursery drop off and pick up.

Mummyme87 · 14/12/2023 20:26

Well done on getting through last day of work @buckingmad It makes all the difference, especially at this time of year.

I'm annoyed with DH. It was my works Christmas party, in a pub near work, from 7pm. He is normally home by 6.45/50, but earlier in the week turned out there was going to be some work drinks from 4pm at his place (CEO probably leaving). I traipsed DS2 to school for 5.30 and collected him at 7.15 for his last Christmas show which all did wonders for my pelvis, then he came on at 8pm… by which point I don’t want to go out as wouldn’t get there until 8.30 and I’m tired. I’m annoyed as this has been in the calendar for weeks, and it was going to be my last ‘night out’ alone (was only going to be there an hour or two)… until middle of August anyway when I go to see Taylor swift aT Wembley. But he won’t get it 😏

FirstT1meMum · 14/12/2023 20:58

Does anyone have any experience of pre eclampsia? I've just got back from triage and I need to go again tomorrow to have follow up bloods and repeated blood pressure.

My blood pressure readings have been up and down today and after having some labetalol it came down again to below 140/90 and I have no protein in my urine.

They've said my bloods have shown a problem with my liver function and obviously today's growth scan showed a reduction in growth (consultant didn't seem concerned as its still in normal range but dr at triage has put the fear of god into me).

They've not said it's pre eclampsia so I just feel really lost at the moment and really overwhelmed and not too sure what to do next! They've not said what the plan is if tomorrow everything is okay. Just feel really alone.

Luhou · 14/12/2023 21:04

@Mummyme87 how annoying. I'd be pissed off too.

Me and DH fallen out over buildworks tonight, all very stressful.

LittleAlien24 · 14/12/2023 21:04

@Mummyme87 no i don't think they gone i just thought a bit came or could be just increased discharge
Sorry to hear you missed your work night out and that he doesn't get it. I know it's not the same but maybe you can organise a night out for yourself before baby is here
@FirstT1meMum hope everything is ok with you and they get your blood pressure sorted
@Luhou hope your works finish on time and don't cause you too much of headache

I had a meeting with anesthetist tonight, well one of them because we don't know who's gonna be on shift when i have my csection. Im still a bit anxious but it's just that i don't want to have that feeling again like im gonna die. Luckily he did calm me down a bit and explained what might have happened last time (finally some kind of answers after 16 years). He said they gonna do spinal instead of epidural that it's better so off to google i go to find information about it 😁

Mummyme87 · 14/12/2023 21:14

@FirstT1meMum sorry to hear you have Blood pressure issues, although it’s good the lateral is bringing it down. If there’s no protein then it’s pregnancy induced hypertension for now. Usually if it can be controlled and everything is okay the aim is to get you to 39weeks

FirstT1meMum · 14/12/2023 21:23

@LittleAlien24 thank you.

@Mummyme87 thank you so much this is really helpful (much more helpful and reassuring than the hospital)! I have no symptoms of anything so hopefully it's just that. Happy to go for induction if recommended at 39 weeks just really don't fancy a christmas day induction!

EL27 · 14/12/2023 21:55

Not sure if it's been discussed before but has anyone tried a perineal massage on themselves? I got a step by step guide from my midwife on how to do it. Just wondering if anyone has done it so far, tbh not sure if I can reach properly down there 🤣. I suppose it's worth trying if there's a chance it can reduce risk of tearing/episiotomy.

Lightningrain · 14/12/2023 22:13

@FirstT1meMum I’ve also had some high blood pressure readings and have been put on labetalol plus weekly appointments for a blood pressure check. .

The doctors are pretty confident it’s white coat syndrome with me as my readings are completely normal when I take them at home and usually within range when the community midwife does them. It seems to be the stress of the hospital that causes the high readings, and of course after the first time there was an issue I’m now pre-empting it. My urine and bloods have always been fine so they haven’t been concerned that it’s pre-eclampsia.

They said the medication was a precaution and not to worry too much. Do you know anyone with a blood pressure monitor that you can borrow to give you peace of mind? I’ve been doing mine most days and it does put my mind at ease knowing that it’s not high unless I’m in the hospital.
