Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

@LozzieLoo omeprazole from the dr is the only thing that touches my heartburn

Hummusanddipdip · 05/12/2023 20:40

All my joints ache every morning and I wake up with numb/pins and needless hand and feet cramps through the night.

@LozzieLoo gaviscon was useful up until a couple weeks ago, I've found mini milks of all things sooth the burn

LozzieLoo · 05/12/2023 20:49

Thanks, I’ll give gaviscon a try first and head to gp if that’s not helping!

Can’t believe we’re in the final few weeks now. Need the pram and car seat to arrive on the 20th and hopefully will then be prepared!

Lightningrain · 05/12/2023 21:54

@FirstT1meMum @sashastuck @LozzieLoo I’ve also had pins and needles in my hands and assumed it was carpal tunnel syndrome as I’ve also had pain in one of my wrists first thing on a morning. I bought a wrist support to wear at night which seems to have helped but I need another as the tingling fingers is on both hands now.

I’ve also been trying to rest my hands as much as I can but it’s not easy when there’s so much to do!

FirstT1meMum · 05/12/2023 22:07

@Lightningrain I did wonder if it was the start of carpal tunnel but don't have any other issues or really at any other point in the day. Might get a wrist support in just incase!

LittleAlien24 · 05/12/2023 22:16

Had ob appointment today. Little man has turned head down for now 😁 last 3 appointments it's been always different way. But this time he wouldn't show his face or anything, he's back was turned to us lol he's 2200g and everything ok. Ob took some vaginal samples, checked placenta and cervix. She looked still surprised that my cervix has hold on for so long and still going well. Having the last blood test on Thursday, next week going to see anesthetist, doing ekg before that, week after that is baby nonstress test and straight after that ob appointment again. Think that's when we'll book my csection.

Lightningrain · 05/12/2023 22:41

@FirstT1meMum my right hand has definitely had less pins and needles since I’ve worn the wrist support so it seems to help. I’m going to mention it at my next midwife appointment to see if she suggests anything else to help but I’m hoping it doesn’t get any worse.

Has anyone else been given a swab to do for group b strep? Apparently it’s not routine but they’re taking part in a research study at the hospital I’m giving birth at so have sent me a swab kit in the post.

I’ve had a lot of baby movements this evening. I think he/she might have had hiccups which I’ve not felt before. It was visible from the outside as well which I’ve not had much due to an anterior placenta.

Matildahoney · 05/12/2023 22:47

Excuse the state of the room, was trying to find something to fit!!
Baby is very much had down and very very low!!! Just want it out now!!
Hopefully won't be much longer!

Due January - Part 9!
Dannic2018 · 05/12/2023 22:58

@Matildahoney is this your first baby ? You really do look low, I bet you’re so uncomfortable. I carry high with all of mine and as much as my bumps bang on I look small I think ? Not long now for us all hopefully 🤞

RG9895 · 05/12/2023 23:11

Has anyone else been getting period cramps? Can't work out if they are braxton hicks or not...they don't really feel tight just the odd cramp at the lower part of my belly

AshleyCali2Uk · 05/12/2023 23:17

@RG9895 yes I was actually in triage last night bc they hurt so bad plus the lower back pain from 7am to 4pm when I went in. Although it's not pattern m, it's still there. It's like I'm having Braxton hicks plus the cramps now. It's very odd. They told me it was due to the DD being in the. Head down position in my pelvis and the pressure. Referred me to Physio so I can get a belly band (Dec 28) 😩😩 and told me to relax. I can't wait until the 28th for pain relief and comfort so I started watching YouTube videos to help.

Bims2019 · 05/12/2023 23:55

@RG9895 yes! Had some dull cramps low down today and wondered if it was Braxton Hicks, it felt a bit like mild period pain. Have you had them before? I don't think I've felt any BH til now, but this has happened a couple of times over the past few weeks so who knows

EL27 · 06/12/2023 07:54

@rg9895 I've been wondering this as well this week (35th week) been getting mild cramps now and again also a lot of lower back pain to add to the pelvis pain!

Currently getting ready for my last shift in work before leave! I'm soooo ready, my job includes me walking around on my feet all day and I think it hasn't helped with all the aches and pains. Hopefully will be able to relax a bit before baby and the Christmas chaos now.

Although I feel I still have way more 'nesting' to do. Has everyone washed baby clothes ready for them yet? May be stupid question but what detergent is best to use? and can you tumble dry baby clothes or will they shrink? Don't want to mess it up when I start tomorrow 😅

buckingmad · 06/12/2023 07:57

@EL27 i don’t have a tumble dryer so can’t help there but I’ve always washed baby clothes same as everyone else’s, with non bio and fabric conditioner.

I’m about there with nesting! Pushchair has been professionally cleaned, all sheets, car seat cover etc washed and dried, hospital bag packed just need to throw in clothes and towel, makeup etc on the day for me. I could just do with buying some warmer hats and blankets as DD was a summer baby.

Matildahoney · 06/12/2023 08:32

@Dannic2018 yes it's my first, I was carrying high until about 3 weeks ago, I wish I still was! It's so uncomfortable! I really hope it won't be long, I was a month early, so hoping baby will be too.

MrsJ6921 · 06/12/2023 08:35

@EL27 I don’t think it’s gospel that you use non bio however I’ve used Fairy (the pods) and both the fabric softener. I must admit they smell amazing and are very very soft.

I didn’t put them in the dryer just incase though!

PartRadish · 06/12/2023 09:12

I wash all baby stuff at 60 and tumble dry as a hangover from having a micropreemie. Just can't bring myself to go back to 'normal'. So yes, all of ours have shunk slightly but I know to account for it in what sizes/how many I buy.

I mean it was actually a good thing with my now 6 year old, preemie clothes are boring so I used to shink stuff on purpose to fit him 😆

Mummyme87 · 06/12/2023 09:40

I just wash baby clothes the same as any clothes. And don’t have a tumble dryer.

i was in so much pain last night trying to go to bed. Pelvis, lower back, hips, running down in to my thighs. Feels better this morning but still painful. Also carrying very low but have been for a good 3months. 2 shifts left! Can’t bloody wait.

cars gone in for a service today so planning to empty one of the big cupboards in the living room and binning what needs binning, sorting it out. Also DH is WFH today, so hoping he will spare 10mins to go in the loft

TunnocksTCake · 06/12/2023 09:54

I've always tumbled baby clothes and they are usually fine.

I've got three shifts left at work and so so ready. I keep getting pains in underside of bump too which used to just be when I moved but now happen when I'm sat still! Don't think I've had braxton hicks yet... Bump is huge and low but has been much lower this time round.

I went to my preggo swimming class last night which is in a warm hydrotherapy pool which is usually the only time all week I don't feel in pain but for some reason last night I felt too hot and then felt sick, and still do ☹️ maybe I overdid it, and actually felt the same in a v warm cinema at the weekend so just need to avoid overheating!

Got a whole day at home to myself today which is actual heaven, hoping to get a nap in later.

Anyone done reflexology? Contemplating going one day when DD is at nursery and I’m off work.

I did induction acupuncture with a fertility/pregnancy specialist acupuncturist last time and I think it helped. I knew I was going in for early induction, so started it a little earlier (about 35 weeks I think) and my induction at 37 weeks was good. They said I was having contractions as I went in, but I couldn't tell, just felt like period aching.

I've moved now but the midwife from my antenatal class offers induction acupuncture, so I plan to go at 36 weeks this time

suz2285 · 06/12/2023 10:52

@TunnocksTCake I felt so warm last night, sometimes it feels like the heating is on really high when it's not even on! I'm also much more swollen.. will be checking my bp today but think it's just normal pregnancy stuff

I also am getting on/off mild period like cramping, nothing major yet but definitely feel it sometimes and the odd tightening at the top of bump

Everyone seems to think they're going early? I'm here hoping to hang on till near the end 😂 no signs of that being an issue currently, I'm wanting a nice quiet Christmas and to get new year out of the way!

No doubt I'll be here whinging when I'm past my due date!

Mummyme87 · 06/12/2023 11:00

@suz2285 I would be very surprised to labour spontaneously before my induction!!

PartRadish · 06/12/2023 11:12

@suz2285 I was just thinking that, it does seem most are expecting/showing signs of going early.

Its funny because my last two babies were 32 weeks and 25 weeks and this baby has already threatened to arrive at 21 weeks and 29 weeks and has literally been sewn in there 😆 but I've gone from trying to desperately prepare myself mentally for another nicu stay to fully expecting a January arrival. I don't feel even remotely like she's coming early. I'm not losing plug, her head isn't engaged or even low, very minimal braxton hicks, no nesting. Nothing. I've never reached a due date but I really do feel like I'll go overdue this time despite everything on paper saying I should expect an early baby.

Just funny how things work out sometimes isn't it and how different every single pregnancy is even subsequent pregnancies in the same body!

RG9895 · 06/12/2023 11:15

@AshleyCali2Uk oh no! Hope everything is okay! Could definitely be the reason as all the pressure, its just all the unknown and hard to tell whats what or if anything to worry about isnt it 😫

@Bims2019 thats exactly how mine are! No, my belly tightens sometimes but theres no pain so I dont think thats a braxton hick? Feel like im clueless on what to look out for haha im also 35+1 today so perhaps they are just getting ready!

@EL27 yes I have had a bit of lower back pain last night too and my hips are really sore this morning!

I also use fairy non bio pods and softener as that's what everyone around me with babies use but I now wash all of our clothes in it not just babies because it smells so good! I also don't have a tumble dryer but I have a heated airer which works really well for tiny clothes 😊

This morning I have also noticed baby girl is sooooo high up like right under my boobs I have no room under there now but I did yesterday so dunno what shes doing in there unless shes had a growth spurt overnight 🤣

suz2285 · 06/12/2023 11:44

@Mummyme87 DH was asking last night what the plan is if I deliver over Xmas when we're away from home, and I was saying unlikely it's only 4 days away 😂 hope I don't regret that now!

@PartRadish great that the stitch is working so good though! When do they remove it? Someone I know through insta had a stitch and she's had her baby 2-3 days after stitch removal at 36+4, baby is perfect 🥰

@RG9895 I don't think I'm getting pain with my tightening either, I mean it feels tight but it's definitely not 'painful' maybe it's just early Braxton? No idea! Like you say it's hard to know what you're looking for but I assume when it's real labour we'll know 😂
