Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

@buckingmad sounds lovely! Enjoy!!

FirstT1meMum · 01/12/2023 17:16

A couple of weeks ago when I went to triage the Dr recommended weekly BP checks based off one borderline high reading (in a state of stress, it came right down after) which is frustrating but I have learnt to accept that they're just being overly cautious.
However, what has irritated me today, it was mentioned at my midwife appointment on Wednesday about needing the appointment next week and she would ring on Friday so I expected a call this morning. When it hit 4 I thought she must have forgot- not the end of the world, things happen!
However, on my way home she rang to say I have an appointment on Monday at 11. So now I've had to message the boss and explain and ask for the time (they have been amazing) but just makes me feel like an absolute idiot and like I'm kust causing more problems at work when we're already short staffed due to illness especially as my reading on Wednesday was 118/80 🙃🙄
Sorry, just needed somewhere to rant and offload!

1992H · 01/12/2023 19:00

Condolences @Gremlin84 to you and your DH. He sounds like a lovely chap to be assisting his wife at such a difficult time.

another week down 🎉 though solo parenting again this weekend and not looking forward to dealing with tennis, swimming, gymnastics and general kids activities. Ontop of walking the dogs with the kids, which is always slower as they can’t do direct routes or straight lines.

Agreed to take the kids to a trampoline park on Sunday too before remembering it’s just me, and need to get my eldests nativity costume stitched and ready for Monday. And I’m already knackered and ready for bed at 7pm, very tempted to get the boys asleep and have Chinese, a bath and an early night.

Hope there’s some fun weekends elsewhere for some of you with some pleasant plans?

buckingmad · 01/12/2023 19:32

@1992H music class has been cancelled (yay as it’s at 9:30) but we have swimming in the afternoon. DH’s football team aren’t playing so I’m going to make him get in and I can watch and stay warm 😂 then I need to do the tree.

My braxton hicks are absolutely wild tonight so I’ve put off doing the tree and am having a bath instead. I’m feeling them in the top of my legs, like my bikini line. Then a lot of lightning crotch. Got an appointment on Tuesday and will be very interested to see how low baby is because tbh it feels like she’s crawling out.

1992H · 01/12/2023 20:08

@buckingmad why do we do the early slots to ourselves?! Mine swim at 9am on a Saturday, then the youngest has gymnastics at 9am on a Sunday 😂🤦‍♀️ awful planning!!
enjoy your morning off music club and sending DH swimming. Sounds ideal!

Mummyme87 · 01/12/2023 20:30

@1992H yes my eldest has track cycling at 9am about a 40min drive away and both boys have rugby at 9am on a Sunday 😴

so my B12 is normal, my folate is low which is why I’m not absorbing iron. My itching bloods, the marker for ICP is normal albeit creeping and liver function has worsened but that can be caused by inflammatory changes.

Luhou · 01/12/2023 21:26

Just catching up, hope we're all doing okay and the days ticking by!

Super busy weekend here, carol morning at nursery, "drinks" with neighbours, plus works xmas doe.

I still feel like I have nothing really sorted for baby, no hospital bag or clothes washed, no furniture up or car seat fitted!

I just haven't had the time between working, juggling DD and house renovations - there's no time!

Lilothblos · 01/12/2023 23:13

Don’t worry @luhou I’m in the same position and have done none of the above yet either because of house renovations! Even sleeping on a mattress on the floor currently whilst we wait for our new bed to arrive 😂

AshleyCali2Uk · 02/12/2023 00:05

@Kirova the Braxton Hicks are killing me too. I get a shortness of breath during them. I hate it. And I get them alllllllll the time !!! Like this has to be more than the usual. no way any one should be having these types of contractions all day long lol 😂 we are almost at the finish line! I'm 30w6d

lilluce95 · 02/12/2023 06:47

@Gremlin84 sending you all my condolences and love - hope you're both doing ok ❤️

@FirstT1meMum my midwife has been poorly for a little bit so my appointments are all over the place at the moment - know how you feel! However ultimately yours and baby's health must come first as it's more important - I know it's easier said than done but try not to stress, you're certainly not an idiot! Xx

lilluce95 · 02/12/2023 06:49

@Mummyme87 ahh I'm also in Devon for the next 2 days! Hopefully you get your infusion Monday all going well xx

Mummyme87 · 02/12/2023 07:26

@FirstT1meMum maybe ask about home blood pressure monitoring. We do that with anyone we want to keep a closer eye on their BP then input the numbers into an app.

Kalodin · 02/12/2023 07:32

Don't worry nothing is sorted here either @Luhou And Clara is here already 😅

House renovation is going so slowly and I'm trying hard not to start an argument with DH about it. It's painful how he doesn't get things done if there's "only" 2 hours in which to do something or how he constantly stops for cups of tea which always take at least half hour. I've been here before with him on this and I can't change him, this is how he operates and I know he makes a lot of concessions with me given my ADHD.

I hope you got your Chinese last night @1992H And had a good evening?

If any of your team have had kids @FirstT1meMum Then they'll know what the appointments can be like. They are often like that and things can be really last minute (often will be the closer you get to the end too I found)

Kalodin · 02/12/2023 07:34

I've got my work Xmas party tonight, did have a lovely maternity dress but won't be wearing that now ofc. Feel a bit weirdly guilty about going out to party when Clara is in NICU, does that make sense? Not sure what to wear now.

Luhou · 02/12/2023 08:01

@Kalodin you absolutely enjoy your evening tonight. You deserve it!

Pleased to hear others aren't prepared either. Next week is quieter for us and need to get a plan together!

Sickness again this morning 👎

Onedayatatime24 · 02/12/2023 09:21

@FirstT1meMum I always feel guilty about missing work even though they're fine with it and understand and I know me and baby come first, so weird how our brains are wired isn't it!

@Kalodi hope you enjoy the party tonight and you can let loose a little!

Me and DH are having our last 'date day', cinema and food, before baby comes which is making me all kinds of emotional. Probably my last time going in to town before birth. So now I'm overthinking all the stuff I won't be able to do as easily or will be so different when baby gets here and having a mini panic at how different life will be 😅 Then feeling guilty for even thinking about it... And repeat 😅 thanks hormones.

Mushroo · 02/12/2023 09:24

@Onedayatatime24 date day sounds lovely!!

DH and I went out for a ‘posh’ dinner last night in our village and it was lovely. We were also very heartened that there was a couple there with a 5 week old baby! The baby was beautifully behaved so hope we get one of those ones 😂

FirstT1meMum · 02/12/2023 10:19

Thank you everyone! They all say not to worry but these emotions make it hard 🤣 especially when I know everyone is stretched! Luckily its not very often!

Hummusanddipdip · 02/12/2023 10:23

Absolutely go and enjoy yourself @Kalodin you've been through so much it'll be good to go have fun.
Totally with you on the stuff not getting done. Not even sure when the conversion will happen now. Had several companies come to look at the garage this week after our builder cancelled. Had some quotes back and dh and I both quite like two of them, they are good friends (with eachother) 🤦‍♀️ I shouldn't because it's just business, but I feel guilty picking one over the other, but we only have one of their quotes back at the moment anyway.

@Mushroo I wish that for you too! Ds has always been so easy to take out and do stuff even from weeks old. I remember he was about 6 months and I went shopping in London with my mum for the day, he was more than content snuggled in the carrier. Now I've had that, this one's going to be a monster 🤣

Had my works Christmas do last night, went to a silent disco at the Cathedral, was brilliant! Although I'm now on movement watch as I forgot myself a bit and while dancing to Low (need to remember I'm in my 30s, I'm not 18 anymore 🤣) I dropped and as I came back up had a sharp pain across the top of my bump, only short, but enough to make me gasp and start poking to make him fidget.

sashastuck · 02/12/2023 10:33

@Kalodin enjoy it - you deserve it mama! It doesn’t matter what you wear, have fun and enjoy yourself xx

@Onedayatatime24 enjoy your date day, what a lovely idea!!

Got our antenatal day starting now. It’s app day at hospital. Quite excited!

buckingmad · 02/12/2023 13:38

Had awful cramps earlier, really low down and coming in waves but each wave was quite long. Took a paracetmol and a sit down and feel a bit better now.

Should I phone? This is the second time this has happened this week. I don’t remember this happening with my first until the week leading up to labour.

lilluce95 · 02/12/2023 14:49

@buckingmad I think if it puts your mind at ease definitely phone them 🥰

I've got a horrible itch near my private parts but deffo nothing like thrush or anything and no signs of infection so I'm guessing it's just hormonal. Is Vagisil safe to use? I've not seen anything saying it isn't but equally I've not seen anything that says it is?

1992H · 02/12/2023 19:34

@Kalodin have a lovely evening! Enjoy it.

I gave up on the Chinese last night as couldn’t be bothered to go to the door 😳

today has been fun. DS1 managed to block the toilet, took me sacrificing a spatula, the mop and a mug to clear it. (Awkward electric space saving toilet-tiny hole, not compatible with a plunger to clear, I discovered today)
it snowed for us to walk the dogs, and was mega icy. And overall a busy day. Just settling the kids to bed but I feel like something has been hammering at my crotch area with a breezeblock. I feel like I’ve been absolutely ravaged.

roll on a hot bath and an early night!

Dannic2018 · 02/12/2023 21:09

Hi ladies, sorry I’ve been checking but I’m rubbish at commenting! Hope you’re all ok

So I put on a pair on joggers I haven’t worn for a few weeks and they are looser on the legs and bum and at 35 weeks it says I should be eating more calories, well I’m not and I know I need to be eating better. Will baby be ok ? Just this is when they put their extra weight on and I’m loosing it!

Also went into panic mode that my hospital bags aren’t sorted and house is still upside down so on a mission to try and get it sorted but god hasn’t it come round so quick!? Doesn’t help it’s Xmas and I’ve got all that to sort too! Takeaway on route and a new series on Sky and I’ll tackle it tomorrow… possibly 🤣🤷‍♀️

FirstT1meMum · 02/12/2023 21:19

@buckingmad hope you're feeling okay tonight ❤️

Baby has definitely found my ribs this week, loves having a good wriggle and kick up there 😳
