Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

Glad you gave yourself time @EL27 but if grief hits at any point, don't try to power through, let yourself feel it.

My bump has dropped and he's been putting severe pressure on my lower stomach, I genuinely haven't been able to stand up straight today, been hobbling and hunched over, not sure if I should do anything about it?

Seriously uncomfortable, not sure I can manage this level of discomfort for long, so might talk to my head about going early before the end of term instead the start of the next one. Thankfully we've got an inset day tomorrow, so I don't need to worry about the children being in school.

PartRadish · 30/11/2023 16:31

Just had another growth scan. Estimated to be 4lb5oz at 33+2. Middle was born at exactly 33 weeks and was 4lb14oz so a little smaller than him. She's on about the 15th centile but I don't have big babies so no surprise really!

Just waiting to see the Consultant now. I've been here over 2 hours and still waiting. She muddled up the notes and saw everyone waiting in the opposite order, so the most recent arrivals were being seen almost instantly. I'm due to be seen last now instead 😕

@PartRadish oh my that sounds so frustrating!!

My midwife discussed colostrum harvesting at my 34 week appointment yesterday and gave me a booklet and walked me through the process and showed me how to do it. She's told me not to start until roughly 37 weeks. She also said hopefully she will have some syringes next time 🤞 She did say you need lots of hands and sometimes it can be useful getting DH to do the syringe...and they say romance is dead 🤣🤣🤣

Mummyme87 · 30/11/2023 18:01

@Hummusanddipdip i hear you on the pain. I over did it at work on Tuesday and still paying for it. Baby is putting so much pressure right at the bottom of my bump and I’ve pulled every bloody muscle there also. I took ibuprofen yesterday because it was so bad, didn’t touch it so might try some codeine tonight.

Mummyme87 · 30/11/2023 19:12

@TunnocksTCake check what the facilities are at the hospital.if they don’t have a milk freezer then leave them at home as once they defrost they need used within 24hours

Gremlin84 · 30/11/2023 20:25

One of my husband’s best friends died today. He was supposed to meet him for lunch and he never arrived. It’s so unbelievably sad.

Hummusanddipdip · 30/11/2023 21:30

Oh @Gremlin84 that's devastating. I hope your husband is OK, as you and his friends family, such an awful thing to happen.

PartRadish · 30/11/2023 21:30

Oh @Gremlin84 thats so sad, I'm so sorry 😔

@Gremlin84 what a terrible shock, how awful. Thinking of you all ❤️

sashastuck · 01/12/2023 06:18

@Gremlin84 so so sorry, what a shock for you both ☹️ really hope your husband will be okay x

sashastuck · 01/12/2023 06:20

Going in for reduced movements as didn’t feel baby overnight - usually he’ll move with a poke or warm hand on my stomach. I got up late after prodding him for a good 10 mins and all that happened was hiccups (which midwife told me not to count as movement). Now I’m sat here waiting to leave the house I have felt him, should I still go in because he didn’t follow his usual pattern during the night? I’ve already told work I’m not coming in so I can commit to it but don’t know if it’s silly to if I have felt him now.

TunnocksTCake · 01/12/2023 06:39

@Gremlin84 how devastating, I'm so sorry. Xx

TunnocksTCake · 01/12/2023 06:41

@sashastuck can you lie down for ten minutes before leaving to see if the movements pick up? Always best to go in if you're at all worried though, hope it's all ok x

Whataretheodds · 01/12/2023 06:47

@sashastuck go in. You won't have your mind at rest until you do, I suspect.

How do we tell the difference between hiccups and movement?

Mummyme87 · 01/12/2023 06:58

@sashastuck if you are worried then going. Everyone has different cut offs. You could lie down on your left side for half an hour and see what happens, if you’re worried though don’t bother and just go.

@Gremlin84 thats so awful and tragic. I’m so sorry to read that. You’re poor husband

sashastuck · 01/12/2023 07:03

Thanks all. Took public transport so I can get to work quicker afterwards and of course he’s been moving on the bus 😂 but I’ll go in anyway, will be useful to ask whilst I’m there about what to do if it happens again as those words ‘normal pattern’ confuse me so much. Now the weeks are getting closer I think my worry is ramping up!!

Mummyme87 · 01/12/2023 09:26

@Whataretheodds hiccups feel like a small jolt in your tummy, regularly and rhythmically. Like
a really big pulse maybe, sometimes can see it from the outside. Not all babies get them.

im going to hospital this morning, my
itching bloods from Monday haven’t been processed. There was an issue with the online system for ordering bloods on Monday morning.

Need to pack some bits today as off to Devon tonight to stay with the in laws for 2 nights. Hope they don’t think I’m going to be walking anywhere 😬

Kirova · 01/12/2023 09:56

Hello everyone,

Sorry I've been dipping in and out a bit - reading but not writing! It has been a bit hectic, since my DH is still abroad for work and I've been juggling work and the girls.

I was having a panic when I woke up this morning because I had a sudden really strong urge to go to the toilet and ended up having an accident before I could get there (the bowels type of accident, not bladder!). I have a sort of dull ache and cramping across my back and I still keep needing to go to the toilet - plus increased Braxtons Hicks. It reminded me of how labour began the previous two times, but I'm only 32 weeks. So I called off work and got a bit stressy, arranging with my in-laws if they could do pick-ups or take the girls if necessary. Now I think it's been a massive overreaction, but I still feel a bit jittery and out of sorts 😞

Gremlin84 · 01/12/2023 12:27

Thanks everyone for your messages. DH is doing as well as can be expected - he's gone into practicality mode to try and help his friend's wife and do any ring arounds she isn't up to doing. Trying to encourage him to make sure he looks after himself too as well as trying to look after others (he tried to look after me until I assured him I wouldn't spontaneously go into labour and to not worry about me and baby - we'll be fine) and to take the time to really process what's happened and grieve.

Baby wise had 34 week check up today and head is well into pelvis now (2/5 presenting). Midwife referred me for growth scan though - she's not worried because measurements are still within normal range and also as we all know by now highly inaccurate, but it's the Trust's policy to do it if it looks like growth is slowing. Also decided to take ferritin measurements with bloods as well as a precaution. Clarified what I needed to do since I was Group Strep B in June UTI - I wanted to check if it was possible to get a swab at 36 weeks since it's transient and if I can stay at home longer I want to know! But it's not the Trust's policy to do a follow up swab so I just need to go in slightly earlier contraction frequency wise or if waters go. Can still go to MLU though, which is great.

Gremlin84 · 01/12/2023 12:33

@Kirova have you called triage? I probably would... those are all the things the NCT midwife told us to look out for!

Whataretheodds · 01/12/2023 12:52

Hope all is well with your growth scan @Gremlin84 and that your DH finds i5 cathartic to be of practical help.

Thank you @Mummyme87 - I feel so ignorant about the different types of movements! I've definitely had some big movements visible from outside but tend to be one-off or irregular. Hope the weather is good for your Devon hikes! ;)

@Kirova that sounds unsettling. Would it help to speak to triage?

Mummyme87 · 01/12/2023 14:01

@Kirova have a chat with your maternity helpline. It could be something or not. Could be an upset stomach that is causing the increased braxton hicks and discomfort…. I say this off the back of having Norovirus 2 weeks ago and the pain I was in made me think I was in labour. Hopefully it’s nothing and all settles.

im going to have an iron infusion on Monday, hopefully will improve the tiredness

Kirova · 01/12/2023 14:09

I did end up calling triage and they've said it may well be nothing to worry about, but to come in to be on the safe side. It's mainly the increased Braxton Hicks that are making me nervous!! They're not really painful, but quite uncomfortable and I keep breaking out in a cold sweat when they come on - probably just anxiety though!!

Thanks for the hand-hold 😍

buckingmad · 01/12/2023 14:58

Hope all ok @Kirova and sorry to hear about your loss @Gremlin84 i had a shock bereavement this pregnancy and it’s knocked me for six. Take care xx

Just got my Christmas tree and DH is cutting the bottom off. Off for a facial, in laws have DD and then DH and I are going for a nandos. He’s then going off to football whilst I come home,
Decorate the tree, light my winter candle and listen to Christmas songs. I can’t wait!!!!

Gremlin84 · 01/12/2023 15:21

Growth scan all good. Baby coming in at 4lbs10oz at 34 weeks. Even got a bonus photo of little face.
