Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

@MummyBear2519 some people like to book in early and others like to wait a bit. Someone said on here I think yesterday they booked in and the midwives said to do it early to get in for Christmas scans. Some gps don't take midwife refferals anymore. I do mine direct with the hospital there's a form to fill in on the website.

@bringmearainbow wow really has changed! Thank you, I think I fall into the ‘high risk’ group due to my dd being premature so will call the doctors in a week or 2.
Is anyone booking an early private scan?

MarmiteMumma · 04/11/2023 09:15

Firstly, congratulations everyone on here! I found out I'm due early July and my husband is still sitting very much in the 'we can't have a baby it's not practical' camp. Feeling pretty lost about what to do if I'm honest. Also we have a 2 year old who has health issues so I'm very nervous about having a second and them having health issues too.

pinkmarshmalloww · 04/11/2023 15:31

@bringmearainbow they didn't tell me what my progesterone was for the Ectopic until I fell pregnant again afterwards and they looked at my history 🫣 I don't think they've ever told me and I've been in for 2 losses and 1 successful and I've only just thought of it now 😅 They still haven't called back 🥴

Thank you @Savvy21 and I'm sorry to hear about your ectopic 🥺 I have had a successful pregnancy after my Ectopic and i remember feeling all sorts of pains where my remaining tube is and panicking and overthinking and researching. But it's still so triggering.
I hope all your blood tests go well x

Kittysw · 04/11/2023 23:30

Hi all,

Congratulations to everyone in here and sorry to hear about previous losses. Hopefully it all ends positively this time around.

I got my BFP Wednesday and think I will be due around the 8th July. I am looking at booking an early scan like I had with my first also.

Have got a cheeky little 2021 boy, quietly excited to make him a big brother!

Bali200 · 05/11/2023 06:28

Hi @MummyBear2519 I also got 2-3 weeks yesterday on a digital, I only got my bfp on Thursday at 11dpo, know that I ovulated on the 22nd Oct which is 2 weeks ago today so I was expecting it to say 1-2! Either way I’m taking it as hopefully a positive sign 🙏🏼 I’m nervous after my MMC in August which was my first pregnancy xx

glasshalffull0 · 05/11/2023 08:10

Hi all can I jump over from the June thread? According to the date of my last period I should have a June baby but I have very long and irregular cycles and I know I didn't have a peak lh until CD31 putting my baby around 5w4d and it being a 3rd July-ish baby

Very excited to have a Summer baby- the long days will help with the exhaustion! I'm also a teacher as is my partner so having a July baby would be a dream as my partner will have 6 weeks off soon after birth

ChaTom · 05/11/2023 09:33

That sounds like excellent timing. I’m due 9th July by the date of my LMP. My 7 year old has a birthday on June 20th so I’m hoping this baby will hold out until July. My children are 9 and 7 so it feels like such a long time ago I was pregnant. I’m really excited though because I have the most wonderful partner this time around and life is much more settled than when I had my boys.

Are you having many symptoms yet? I’m already very nauseous and hungry most of the time.

MrsHousePlant · 05/11/2023 09:36

@glasshalffull0 we have the same situation with both me and my husband getting the school holidays off. It’s such a lovely thought having all that time!

Jess725 · 05/11/2023 10:20

@Kittysw
congrats to you on your positive!
I am also working out to be due 8th July 😊😊
Hope you are feeling ok. When will you book in for a scan? I think I am going to book in too after hearing the ladies in here experiences 🙏

Savvy21 · 05/11/2023 11:44

@Jess725 I think it's a bit skewed on pregnancy experiences on mumsnet. My first pregnancy, I sailed through the 12 week scan and all was fine. I only started posting on mumsnet when things weren't fine! From friends who've had early scans, I've heard that some of these companies aren't great if it is bad news. But if it does reassure you then the less anxiety the better but there'll be loads of women who just read mumsnet aka me and didn't post an everything was fine with my pregnancy post because I didn't need to. If that makes sense.

MummyBear2519 · 05/11/2023 11:59

@Bali200 my oh was away so we only dtd on the 16th and 18th of my week window.

@glasshalffull0 i also work in a school and glad o won’t have school runs to contend with after a C-section

What are everyone’s symptoms so far?
I’ve gone off chocolate which is very unlike me, insomnia, and my boobs are huge! Apart from that I feel great

Bonster37 · 05/11/2023 12:15

I’m out anyway. My lines have gone fainter and starting to spot. I think this is a chemical.

Thanks! I'm not feeling any different at the moment and can't remember when I started getting symptoms either with my first. How are you feeling?

Yes I found it great with my first, I did use a smaller private company and the woman who owns and runs it is well known in my area. I will be looking at the week of the 4th December for a scan I think.

I think it depends what you're after from the scan as well. I just really liked the initial reassurance of it and it allowed me more of a connection.

Jess725 · 05/11/2023 14:38

@Kittysw
I’m glad you’re doing good! I hope that continues for you 😊how young is your first?
I mainly have crazy sore boobs but apart from that I can’t complain. I had some cramping on and off but it seems to be easing now! Best of luck on your scan!

@Savvy21 Yes I hear you completely. Makes sense. I’m really sorry your friends didn’t get on well private scan companies

pontipinemum · 05/11/2023 15:08

Hello ladies, I had a very faint BFP on Thursday and have tested like a demon since, but I got the CB digital to confirm this morning!! So excited.

Due date is 16th July which is DS's birthday, he won't be happy.

Before DS I had two MCs and a vanishing twin with him. I thought after having had 1 successful pregnancy I'd be a lot more relaxed but I'm already wondering if I will go to EPU or not. I might just book a private scan the whole thing will be quicker. My EPU you're in there a few hours each time with bloods/ waiting

pontipinemum · 05/11/2023 15:15

@Savvy21@Jess725 there can be bad sonographers in all places I'm sure and it's never easy news to give. My 1st MC I had zero idea anything was wrong, but I also had no clue on my dates as my periods were very erratic. The sonographer was so considerate and understanding. I also didn't have to pay. Something I noticed in the small print when I went for a private scan when pregnant with DS (thankfully did have to pay this time).

Same with EPU I meet great doctors/ midwives/ sonographers and a few that were pretty awful. One Dr showed me two sets of bloods and asked which ones were from two days ago and which ones were from today? We were looking at the print out results. I told her I didn't know, how could I. She said well depending on which is which pregnancy is either progressing or you are miscarrying. That I then needed to wait in the waiting room so she could find out from the lab. Had to wait alone because, covid. I was miscarrying. Like she could have found out before calling me in.

Also, people often say the staff are 'bad' 'worse' etc when it is a result they don't want.

Savvy21 · 05/11/2023 15:30

@pontipinemum sorry to hear about your losses.
I wasn't really commenting about the standard of care - it was more that if you get scanned early and something has happened then you have to go to EPU. I didn't know about my mmc either until 12 week scan but at least I was sent upstairs immediately for next steps. I guess if you had a private scan late on a Friday afternoon and it needed further investigation then you wouldn't be able to see EPU until Monday as they're not open at the weekend - well not round here anyway.
Personally I think these early scan places are just making a profit out of pregnant women's anxieties. But I can understand that they're there so if you can afford it and it puts your mind at rest, then go for it. 🙂

Savvy21 · 05/11/2023 15:42

Just to add surely there should be an app by now that can give personal updates on what's happening in there. I'm not talking about an Ovia app but an app that gave like fetal heartrate, progesterone levels, hcg levels, monitored movements. Wouldn't that be great?

pontipinemum · 05/11/2023 16:00

@Savvy21 yes you're right I had to book into EPU anyway. But then with 2nd MC I went only through EPU they didn't confirm anything that day either. Just said what my bloods were, what they could see on the scan and to come back in 10 days to see.

Anyway don't want to be scaring anyone on here!!!

Oh an app where all the info is would be amazing. Which is funny it would be opposite for some people I know who are very much so it'll be what it is.

andreacen · 05/11/2023 16:12

I'm also due July, it's my first pregnancy so I am very anxious and can't almost believe it's real. I barely have any symptoms (sometimes sore breasts) and missing my period for first time.
I'm constantly worried that my baby will not be there :(...any advice for the waiting time till the first scan?

Purtyburty · 05/11/2023 17:13

@Bonster37 so sorry. I hope you are kind to yourself xxx

Jess725 · 05/11/2023 17:26

@Bonster37
wanted to send love. Take care of yourself

wannabe123 · 05/11/2023 19:16

@glasshalffull0 @MrsHousePlant another teacher here 👋 although I just do PPA cover and am on a temporary contract that roles over each year if funding allows. So at least I'll get some maternity pay but then not sure what will happen and not sure I'll have a job to go back to 🤷🏼‍♀️

Trying to relax into this pregnancy a bit more. I've got sore boobs and bloating as well as hot flushes and dizziness in a morning. It makes getting a toddler ready for nursery interesting! I got 2-3weeks on a CB digital this morning which matches the dates I think we conceived etc.

wannabe123 · 05/11/2023 19:17

@Bonster37 sending lots of hugs. Be kind to yourself x
