Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

Hi ladies,

Can I join, EDD I think is the 2nd July!

Will turn 6 weeks on Tuesday. Today has been the worst day for symptoms! Envy

CheshGirl · 05/11/2023 19:34

To add, I'm also a doula, and have two children already. One medical/hospital birth and also a homebirth xx

bringmearainbow · 05/11/2023 21:10

@Bonster37 so sorry big hugs we're here if you need to chat xx

Just had last nights hcg blood test results level is 714. I reckon I'm 5 weeks +/- 1 or 2 days so it's a good start

Have any of you started taking pregnancy vitamins yet? I still have a few pre conception ones left.

I took pregnacare max last time but even on boots 2 for 3 they are very expensive

Ewbo2024 · 06/11/2023 09:15

Hi All

Can I join please? EDD 14th July
Got my bfp last week 😊 I've had two back to back early losses this year so bit of a worrier.

Are early scans worth it for peace of mind? I'm torn making a decision. I've got a bit of a what will be will be mindset now, which I definitely didn't have previously.

Thanks for any advice 🙏

bubballoo · 06/11/2023 09:40

@pontipinemum I'm still finishing up some conception ones then I'll start on some pregnancy ones (ingredients are much the same so don't want to waste anything as they are expensive!)

Also taking an extra 5mg folic acid as my BMI is >30. As a reminder to anyone in a similar boat pregnancy vitamins have 400mug which is 0.4mg (i.e. a 12th of what you should take with a higher BMI).

bubballoo · 06/11/2023 09:47

Also, I just buy my 5mg tablets online, but doctors will prescribe them if you can get an appointment. Can't get them over the counter anywhere. Despite it being NHS guidance for people with higher BMI (and certain other conditions) to take this higher does from one month prior to conception.

Sorry, might not be relevant to anyone, but it's something I didn't know about when pregnant with my first and I found out at my booking in appointment when I was already 10 weeks.

Jess725 · 06/11/2023 09:50

@Ewbo2024
Hey 😊
I am in exactly the same boat.
Two back to back miscarriages this year. I am also debating an early scan in a couple of weeks which is why I joined this thread (cant decide!)

A lot of ladies have replied earlier on in the thread about their experiences on early scans 😊 I hope that helps! I found it super helpful hearing first hand ❤️

bringmearainbow · 06/11/2023 10:18

@pontipinemum I don't bother with a general pregnancy vitamin I just make sure I take folic acid which I take as folate and vitamin D. I do take lots of other vitamins to support my thyroid though which are in most multivits so didn't want to overload my system. I did take pregnacare max in my first pregnancy. I'm pretty sure nhs guidelines just say vitamin d and folic acid.

@Ewbo2024 I think early scans really are 50/50 some people don't like them and some people just need that reassurance even if it's for the moment. I have always been a fan of early scans because I just like to know but then all my MC have been missed ones so I just dont think I could wait until 12 weeks for them to tell me I lost it ages ago. Could be worth contacting your EPU and see if they will monitor you. After I had my 2nd MC they offered to monitor me early for subsequent pregnancies. I personally wouldn't bother to go earlier than 7 weeks though

pontipinemum · 06/11/2023 10:44

@bubballoo thanks I didn't know that. Just checked my BMI I'm very close to the 30. I have a box of folic acid I might take that along side the conception ones. It's just a B vitamin anyway so the worst case is I pee the excess out!

@bringmearainbow I don't really take anything. Well I have taken vit d + folic all year because I knew I wanted to TTC this year. I found it just easiest having it all in the 1 tablet but I am shocked by the price. I am in Ireland 1 box in boots €36 about €25 everywhere else but then you get the 3 for 2 in boots so works out about the same

pontipinemum · 06/11/2023 10:53

Anyone else in Ireland I just spotted on Holland and Barrets, they have a buy 1 get 1 half price on pregnacare Max which brought them to €17 per box but with the discount code CHOOSE I got another 20% off so I paid €110 for 8 boxes

ChaTom · 06/11/2023 11:07

I struggle with tablets when I’m nauseous so I’ve bought Pregnacare gummies (on a 3 for 2 offer). I think Vitamin D and folic acid are the only essential ones but I lost lots of hair after my second child so I think the extra vitamins will make me feel like I’m doing all I can to avoid the same happening this time. I’d rather avoid the receding hairline this time if at all possible! 😆

bringmearainbow · 06/11/2023 19:15

@ChaTom oooh they do gummies now I would have lived those when I was taking pregnacare 😂 now I've just got used to taking all the yucky vitamins 🙊

How is anyone feeling today? Any symptoms starting?

OP posts:
pinkmarshmalloww · 06/11/2023 20:05

@bringmearainbow I had my scan today. Not Ectopic but 2 gestational sacs 😳 they can see they both measure approx 5 weeks and can see the yolk sac starting to develop in one. I have a rescan in 12 days to see if we have 2 heartbeats 💗
How're you feeling?

wannabe123 · 06/11/2023 20:05

The last two nights I've been so hungry. Ate all my tea and then had a bag of crisps! I still have dizziness and the potential start of some nausea. I'm exhausted tonight too. Hoping I'm not just making symptoms up 🤦🏼‍♀️

How's everybody else feeling?

wannabe123 · 06/11/2023 20:07

@pinkmarshmalloww oh my goodness! I bet that's a shock! Fingers crossed for two heartbeats!

pinkmarshmalloww · 06/11/2023 20:10

@wannabe123 I was so much in shock that what they said after that went over my head and I had to have them call me back to go through it all again after I left 😅
I myself was a twin but unfortunately my mum had an early loss I think vanishing twin x

bringmearainbow · 06/11/2023 20:26

@pinkmarshmalloww omg that's amazing! I really hope they both develop that would be lovely ❤️ also I'm so very happy it's not ectopic that's brilliant news!

I'm ok I feel so normal which feels weird as I've always had symptoms but I have been reading that prednisolone can mask pregnancy symptoms so I'm hoping that it's just that. I do have a bit of a thing for bbq Pringles though 😂

@wannabe123 my last pregnancy I literally couldn't stop eating 🙈 if the dizziness continues or gets worse go to the doctors it can be very normal I had it in one of mine I literally couldn't sit straight some days but best for them to rule out ear infection

wannabe123 · 06/11/2023 20:41

@bringmearainbow it's mainly in the morning. I don't actually feel like I'm going to faint just fuzzy if that makes sense.

Cattattack · 06/11/2023 20:59

Hi all, I’m currently 11 dpo (I think 4 weeks today) so it’s super duper early days, but this is my first. We have been trying for 4 months, decided to give it a break and didn’t check ovulation…we got married 2 weeks ago and ‘did the deed’ …and here we are today! I’m quite shocked. I don’t know due date…I think i am tentatively going to lurk until I feel more comfortable to know if it’s safe to get properly excited 😆 good luck to you all ❤️❤️

Liz2681 · 06/11/2023 21:15

Hi all 👋🏼 can I join?

After a MC at around 5 weeks, I got a positive test yesterday at 11DPO, so 12DPO today. Obviously worrying loads but hoping to see some line progression over the next few days to put my mind at ease 😌. According to the Pregnancy+ app I’m due on 17 July.

Best of luck to everyone and looking forward to all the updates! 💜

bubballoo · 06/11/2023 21:28

Wow!.@pinkmarshmalloww that's exciting!
I really hope you continue to get good news at the next scan 🤞

Savvy21 · 07/11/2023 06:21

@pinkmarshmalloww that's great news about your scan! Also gives me hope that they'll be able to see something on mine on Friday.
@bringmearainbow I feel nauseous after every meal and have been going to bed at 9 every night. Also still have backache but fingers crossed it's just stretching.

justanotherlaura · 07/11/2023 10:25

I've been testing positive for 5 days and finally have a nice dark line so I'm going to stop testing now. I think I must have implanted 3 days later than last time. I got a nice dark line at 16dpo last time and didn't until 19dpo this time, hopefully that's what's happened and all is well!

I'm so tired right now and mildly nauseous, the real nausea kicked in at 6 weeks last time, really hoping it's not as bad this time! At least I won't have to cope with hayfever symptoms at the same time thankfully because of the timing :)
