Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

@soon2be6 @Moudy yes! I've had 22nd put down as my date but when I had a scan because of spotting (heamatoma) they said I was actually 6 weeks not 7.

I ovulated late so that does make sense. Don't know if that means 22nd is still my date 😅. They're only estimates any way aren't they

MrsHousePlant · 10/12/2023 17:18

@Oatmilktea when I talked about my fatigue at my midwife appointment she very clearly told me to put myself first and take time to rest if I needed it, including time of work if that needed to be the case. You have to look out for number one (plus the one you’re growing!) 😊 I know in my job nobody will ever tell me to go home or take a day off, sometimes you just have to do it!

Has anyone taken sick leave at work due to the way they’ve been feeling in early pregnancy? I feel so nauseous and exhausted all the time and it’s making me feel really miserable! I’m taking anti sickness tablets the GP prescribed and they’re making me feel even more exhausted.

I work in quite a high pressure job and really don’t feel like I have it in me to go in next week but I hate letting people down as I’m in a small team and have my own targets to reach etc. Does anyone have any advice?

I've been signed off for 4 weeks, back in tomorrow and dreading it

Oatmilktea · 10/12/2023 19:13

I’ve bit the bullet and text my boss telling him I won’t be in tomorrow (and that I’m pregnant!). He was lovely about it and told me he will mark me as working from home but not to worry about doing any work. Hopefully a couple of days in bed will make me feel a bit better.

@CheshGirl hope you’re feeling better and that your first day back goes ok. The thought of it is always worse than the reality. Unless you’re still feeling rubbish of course!

Hi @Oatmilktea - I've been signed off work for a week and a half as I'd been taking antisickness medication that simply didn't work. I reached a point of exhaustion due to insomnia and struggling to eat/drink. My GP said I couldn't carry on like this and needed to allow my body to rest and recuperate. My advice would be to listen to your body, have a conversation with your GP about how you're feeling and how it's affecting you, and then come to a decision together. Honestly having the time away without the pressure of work or needing to explain myself to work everyday has really allowed me the opportunity to rest and take time for me and baby. I hope you're feeling more yourself soon! X

Oatmilktea · 11/12/2023 15:12

I’m so glad I took today off and will be taking tomorrow off too. I would have just been miserable (and useless) at work today. Had a quick chat with the GP and they are changing me from Cyclazine to Promethazine as I was still feeling nauseous with the Cyclazine.

I don’t have high hopes for the Promethazine if I’m honest. I’m worried about the drowsiness it may cause. Has anyone else used this?

missmoosh · 11/12/2023 15:45

@Oatmilktea i have ended up having to go off sick today. Couldn't look at that screen without dry heaving! Hope the meds work for you, I'm going to contact gp tomorrow to try and sort some out for myself too!

justanotherlaura · 11/12/2023 16:28

My 1 year old has had flu since Wednesday and we have it too, I'm running on fumes now, this is so much harder than the first time when I could go to bed whenever I felt rubbish. My husband is doing everything he can to give me a break as I have first trimester symptoms on top of the flu symptoms but we're both so worn out. Really hope we feel better in the next couple of days!

MoonIightDreamer · 11/12/2023 17:24

@bubballoo at my scan at 7 weeks they said it had to be transvaginal as it was too early for external 🤷‍♀️ I absolutely hate them. I feel like I've been proded so much this past year

MoonIightDreamer · 11/12/2023 17:28

@EmmzRB I agree, I don't think I'll truly believe im pregnant until my 12 week scan.
I had a scan at 7 weeks but couldn't barely see anything due to my uterus being so tilited and baby has implanted right at top of womb.
i cant even anything on the scan pic they gave me as its so distorted. They assured me there's a heartbeat but I don't think I'll believe it until I see it myself.

RSB94 · 11/12/2023 17:41

I'm currently sat here with nose plugs as I'm trying anything to reduce the nausea which is all day but ramps up about 4pm.

I'm currently on cyclizine and Prchlorporpezine (?) and at 8+3 I'm hoping that I've only got a couple more weeks of this.

The glamorous first trimester hey!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 11/12/2023 18:17

Had my booking appointment today. They booked me in for early scan on Friday as she felt my last period could have potentially have been implantation (1 day bleeding, 5 days brown spotting). She didn't want to risk it as if it was I'd be 11 weeks this week and tests need doing before that. If I am (as I think) 8 weeks then they'll just book the 12 week one afterwards.
Booking appointment was very thorough! We were there for over an hour! Blood taken, urine sample, medical history etc. She was very relaxed about my age (41) even though I cried and said I was so old. She said that it's quite common nowadays!

trebuvie · 11/12/2023 19:00

@EmmzRB I think we might be on similar wavelengths! I've pencilled in 23 July as due date but I'm pretty sure based on possible conception dates that I ovulated late and am also a week "behind". AND I had some bleeding at (the real) 6wks mark last week. Have booking appt and early scan on Weds and Thurs this week respectively. Really hoping all good 🤞

MixedCouple · 11/12/2023 21:40

Hey ladies, 8 weeks today I am in Nausea Vill right now. 2 weeks of none stop nausea 24/7 I tried fresh ginger and almonds and nothing. I complain a million times a day. My toddler has been great and being a bit more independent so I can rest more. But I feel yucky and also totally sick of my OH.
I can't stand him. I don't want hugs or kisses or him to touch me. I feel so bad and so unlike myself.

Oatmilktea · 11/12/2023 21:53

@MixedCouple sorry you feel so rough, I’m in the same boat, except I don’t have any other children (I honestly don’t know how people manage to look after another human when feeling like this, hats off to you). I also complain a million times a day and feel miserable that I haven’t felt like myself for around 2 weeks now. Hopefully this eases up for us soon!

hopingfor23 · 11/12/2023 22:44

Just wiped a bit of pink discharge which I know is ok as had it with my son but also had bits of red in 😩 trying not to panic and hope it was just following a strained bowel movement (sorry tmi!!!) got an early scan Friday when I'll be around 8+2 so not long to wait 🙏

Julymumtobe · 11/12/2023 23:22

I also took the day off work today due to nausea and vomiting. Looking likely that tomorrow will be the same as I am writing this from the bathroom floor! I think stress is triggering mine to be even worse as we move house this week. Work on top of that even though I work from home just feels unmanageable but I feel so guilty for being off.
I also have a super itchy scalp today, random pregnancy symptom 😅

MoonIightDreamer · 12/12/2023 00:49

@Nocoffeenotalkie
Do you know what blood tests they perform before 11 weeks?
I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. Haven't got my booking appointment yet

ceruleansky · 12/12/2023 02:09

@Oatmilktea
It's good you've taken some time off work and that your boss is nice about it!!. I haven't been able to do that because I don't want to let them know yet. But I will be on vacation from the 22nd and I've somehow managed to complete my in office days for the month so I just have to work from home until then.

I've started my 7th week today and I have my first scan. My husband flew in from another city to spend the weekend with me. We work in different cities. Yesterday was our first anniversary but we couldn't do much thanks to the dizziness i felt! I'm not allowed to travel back home until my doctor sees today's scan result and clears me. So fingers crossed the scan looks good! 🤞

Nocoffeenotalkie · 12/12/2023 07:38

I think the blood tests only come again at 11/12 weeks @MoonIightDreamer if scan measurements suggest they're needed. I think they're more worried about the scan being done at the right time rather than blood tests. I could be wrong though.
I had 4/5 vials of bloods taken at booking. I said they could screen me for everything e.g. sickle cell etc. I was told off for being dehydrated though - blood was too thick! Hot drinks don't count apparently so drink lots of squash/water. 2 cups is not enough.

EmmzRB · 12/12/2023 08:10

Did a full day at work in the office yesterday and I am paying for it today. Can't stand up without feeling sick.

Is anyone else having fruit cake level dreams?? I'm loosing the plot. 2 weeks to get through till the Christmas break.

wannabe123 · 12/12/2023 10:10

@EmmzRB my dreams have been crazy! I dreamed that I had my 12 week scan and we had to climb through a window hatch to get into the room. The room used to be where the doctors and nurses could get their shoes re-soled 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I've got my first scan a week tomorrow. Mum and dad are having the toddler the night before so husband and I are going to get up in the morning and do our Christmas food shop child free before the scan. What a treat!

I had a lack of nausea last week which left me worried. It came back on Saturday and I definitely know it's back. Little ones swimming lesson today could be fun!

ceruleansky · 12/12/2023 10:59

My EP scan looks good. I saw my little baby bean and heard the heartbeat. 🥹
And I've been cleared to travel!!

I have been prescribed hcg injections as well as a progestin injections to be taken weekly. I've never heard of anyone pregnant getting these every week. Is this unusual?

Winnipeggy · 12/12/2023 11:44

Had my scan today and saw a lovely heartbeat! So relieved. Scanner said they are measuring at 7 weeks but I make it 7w4...would anyone worry about that discrepancy?

sulikm · 12/12/2023 12:20

Hey ladies, I just had my booking appointment this morning. Pretty straight forward and felt like I was in and out which was nice. Only annoying thing is they're only writing down date of lmp which for me isn't aligned with my conception date (which I know) due to having longer cycles. So I'm 12w2d but actually I'm sure that I'm 9w2d - oh well. I have my first scan next Monday and I guess that will clarify it all. Can't believe I managed to hold off any private scans and held strong, 6 more days to wait!
