Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

@Julymumtobe I have hyperemesis gravidarum and I’m finally having some improvement with ondansetron. Don’t be afraid to go to the hospital if you need help. I felt so much better after IV fluids and vitamins as well as IM antisickness. I’m now on ondansetron, prochlorperazine, omeprazole and cyclizine but it’s the ondansetron that’s really made the difference. They have also booked me an early scan for tomorrow to rule out multiple or molar pregnancy.

Pregnancy Sickness Support also have a helpline. I was so low last week and didn’t think I could carry on but they gave me lots of information to go to my GP with and they really helped me to feel more positive. I hope things get better for you soon.

ExpectantEs · 04/12/2023 11:25

Thanks for all the advice about chasing my booking appointment, apparently they sent a letter out but must've gotten lost in the mail. They're sending another one out.

Appointment is next week, which will be in my 10th week. Thanks all

User491 · 04/12/2023 11:28

@MummyBear2519 identical twins will be so lovely 🥰 I've been the same so tired and sore boobs, but I have a bad bug too so think that's made me worse. I would defo ask
For that to be brought forward, hopefully they will. The anxiety is tough isn't it ☹️

@CB2805 yes we are so similar it's so nice to have someone else the same. I'm 6+5 today, my scan showed mine were a little behind and no confirmation of heart beat on one, but at 6+1 she said that can be totally normal. Really hope all is ok on Thursday and they catch up a bit 🤞🏻 when is your next scan?

I googled last night about reasons for not being/feeling sick, I had a little nausea that subsided... totally jinxed myself. This morning I felt so sick and had to run to the bathroom and was physically sick. Now I can't shake the feeling 🙈🙈
I've managed to force a little cereal down. I also have pretty bad cramps, not had them this bad but was also a little constipated but I've got a bit of a sore pain down there but like inside... I have no idea if that's a bad thing or just everything stretching etc. not going to settle now until Thursday 😬

ceruleansky · 04/12/2023 11:48

@MrsHousePlant
Ah OK!! Seems like they do a lot before they get the scan done then!
Makes sense.

How far along are you? I'll be six weeks tomorrow. Still early. I saw my husband after ten days. He was scared to be happy. 😅 maybe because of all the fertility treatments. Anyway, it's the first time I've got a positive.

CB2805 · 04/12/2023 11:52

@User491 i just had my scan this morning! 7+3 today babies looking great and my hematoma seems to be shrinking day by day, so that great news🩵 although I’m still spotting some brown.
Dr lowered my medications so feeling good about that as well!
Unfortunately he didn’t let me know when to come back for another scan so that makes me feel anxious lol
I still don’t feel sick just nauses every now and then but I’m not complaining🤭 cramp wise I feel all the time a bit of tension weird feeling down there so I think everything is stretching now. Also I’ve heard with twins is quite common to have little pains/twinges.
Im sure you will be just fine with your scan, at 6+0 I had one with heartbeat then at 6+2 both with strong heartbeats🫶🏻it’s quite normal I believe.

Sass12 · 04/12/2023 14:06

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining im 6-1 weeks with my first, due 29th. found out when I was 4 weeks, it’s been a little difficult to come to terms with as had previous MC’S and chemicals, which I regret finding out so early because it can be so disheartening! Not being able to fully commit yet either for fear of disappointment! Boobs have killed since ovulation but have subsided today & I cannot stop gagging the last 2 days which is a right mare Lol! I also have mad anxiety about everyone in work guessing due to this nausea. Haven’t booked any appointments yet but will definitely be having a private before the 12 week mark for reassurance! Hope you’re all well today! X x

Julymumtobe · 04/12/2023 15:10

Thanks everyone for the advice on my sickness and nausea. I have tried very small amounts of food and drink today and it seems to be staying down. Feeling better this afternoon but haven’t moved all day so I think that’s why. I am going to make an appointment with my GP and talk to work as I don’t think I’ll manage work at the moment.
I wasn’t prepared for how isolating the first trimester is when nobody else knows. It’s really reassuring to hear of others going through the same thing and to have some hope that there’s a chance it won’t be like this the whole pregnancy.
@ChaTom thanks for the advice. I have looked at the pregnancy sickness support website today. I am glad you have had improvement with medication.

MoonIightDreamer · 04/12/2023 16:39

@ceruleansky I'm 8 weeks now and still have the bad cramping :(

MrsHousePlant · 04/12/2023 17:03

@ceruleansky I’m just over 8 weeks now! Booking appointment was great and felt really supportive. Lots of questions but lots of chance to ask things too. I’ve now been referred for a scan she said between 11-14 weeks so I think mine will likely be in the new year now. Just got to keep being patient 😂

Today is the first day in a while I’ve felt more like myself other than tiredness. Trying to enjoy it and not overthink it!

PopQuizz · 04/12/2023 18:17

Thanks for the advice @Wise0wl, I emailed today as couldn't get through on phones so fingers crossed they figure out my appointment!

My sickness started today! I'm kind of happy about it as feel like it is a reassurance things are progressing, but it isn't much fun when it's happening is it!! Going to stock up on some ginger tea tonight I think...

We won't be 12 weeks by Christmas and we are spending it with my family who are quite boozy, I think we've decided to tell them but not sure when to do it. Will it kind of piss on everyone else's Christmas surprises if we do it on Christmas Day do you think?

Summer244 · 04/12/2023 19:56

Hey I’m sorry you’re feeling so rough I was in a really similar situation being sick every day for weeks, struggling to work etc. I’m nearly 10 weeks now and over the past few I’ve started to feel slightly better I’m still pretty nauseous and can only really eat snacks but I haven’t been sick for a few days. I’ve read that 9 weeks is the hardest as that’s when hcg peaks so hopefully you’ll start to feel a bit better soon! I did call my midwife when I was really sick as it’s probably good for them to know what’s going on even if they can’t do anything

RSB94 · 04/12/2023 19:57

I'm also wondering about Xmas! I'll be 10 + 3 on Christmas day and I'm normally the first to open the fizz. It will definitely be suspicious that I'm not drinking and I don't want to lie to people.

I wonder if booking a private Scan just before Xmas will give us some reassurance and we can then tell family early...?

Bluemilan · 04/12/2023 20:25

Hi all, joining if that's ok! I'm 7+1 today with our 4th! This pregnancy is whipping my butt so far due to the morning all day sickness as I've never had it before. We've had a scan last week and seen the little bean, our scan picture looks like a little love heart which was nice and gave us some reassurance as we've had recurrent miscarriages.

I hope everyone is feeling well! Xx

justanotherlaura · 04/12/2023 20:30

I feel like I've been hit by a bus today! Sore everywhere and a headache that won't go away. I've been really lucky and my nausea hasn't been as bad as last time but this is something else! Really hoping I feel better tomorrow

trebuvie · 04/12/2023 21:01

@RSB94 we have similar dates and that's what I'll be doing! Getting 8wk scan on the 14th

Today I had exactly the perfect amount of nausea - just strong and long enough to definitely be identifiable and reassuring, but not to actually meaningfully impact my day at work... will I be lucky enough to have this the whole time? We shall see 😁

EmmzRB · 04/12/2023 21:56

Hi Ladies, Christmas day is definitely a tricky one to navigate I'll be 'driving' and just trying not to draw attention to it.

Had some spotting Saturday just once when I wiped, then nothing Sunday. Tiny light bit of brown discharge this morning (sorry for the detail). Rang the EPU they were wonderful. Have booked me in for a scan Wednesday so can find out if there's anything to worry about. I'm 7 weeks + 1 today. Tomorrow is the furthest I've ever been.

ceruleansky · 05/12/2023 00:02

@MoonlightDreamer
Oh my! It still hasn't gone away? Thanks for the heads up! What else do you feel?

@MrsHousePlant
That's good, happy to hear you feel reassured. Ooh that's another wait. The wait is endless isn't it?!
We usually have one around 7-8 weeks for the heartbeat and dating and another around 11-14 which is the anomaly scan.

Good to hear you're feeling better! 😀

The insomnia is real for me. I went to bed around 11pm and woke up at 5. It's not too bad but no matter how late I sleep I can't seem to wake up after 5.
Anyway, I'm officially 6 weeks today!

ceruleansky · 05/12/2023 04:26

I meant sleep in after 5..

He2508 · 05/12/2023 06:28

Wtafishappening · 15/11/2023 18:39

Hi all,
Peeking my head through. Just had BFP completely out of the blue. Am 41 (almost 42) and have 2 older DC (12 and 8). Took a test tonight as felt a bit off but couldn't remember when my period was due - we needed to know so could get a refund on the holiday we booked this week 😀. Think my dd will be around 21st July but not sure.
I am FREAKING out, so thought would post on here. Terrified of being this much older and pregnant, literally shaking.
Talk about a life pivot. Have forgotten everything too

Hi!! Hope you don't mind me jumping on to your message - am 41, 2 older kids (15 & 10!) and due 13 July!
Never thought I'd be in this situation again, but guess it's my final shot at making another beautiful baby?!
I hope you're doing great and getting through everything - if you need anyone to talk to, sure we can share the same concerns and reassure each other!
Good luck!

Nocoffeenotalkie · 05/12/2023 07:58

@Wtafishappening hi,
I'm 41 and due one day after you on the 22nd. My daughter is 11! I am scared too. Hoping my booking appointment some of my fears will be put to rest but cannot believe this is happening.
We tried for years for another and nothing. Then at 41...bam! I have forgotten everything as well.

@He2508

Nocoffeenotalkie · 05/12/2023 07:59

Not sure why my post went odd. Couldn't type anymore after the tag. I agree it's a blessing just a little more worrisome than at 30 for me.

soscarlet · 05/12/2023 11:02

Morning ladies, I had my scan this morning (7+2) and everything is looking good. The embryo is measuring a couple of days behind and has a lovely heartbeat.

I’ve been having a lot of problems with sickness. Yesterday I couldn’t stop being sick and couldn’t keep anything down, it was awful. I’ve got it sorted now with antiemetics but I feel so worn out. I’m off sick this week but still have no energy and feel like I’m being a rubbish mum to my toddler ☹️

Elisemp93 · 05/12/2023 12:32

@soscarlet I feel like this too! I’m 8w with bad sickness and now a virus on top and feel so guilty on my toddler. BUT (I’m sorry if this doesn’t help much but I keep telling myself.. ) everything is a phase and it won’t last forever 🙏🏼 xxx

soon2be6 · 05/12/2023 13:54

Is anyone else waiting for an early scan? I have booked one for tomorrow when ill be 7+3. Feel so nervous as i had a miscarriage the day after an early scan with my previous pregnancy.x

missmoosh · 05/12/2023 16:15

@soon2be6 i have booked an early one for next Friday when I will be 7+5! Excited but terrified at the same time!
I just got notification of our NHS scan which will be when I'm 12+3, so that's exciting and I have my booking appointment this Friday!
