Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

Hi all, I think I now need to be in this group! Had my 12 week scan today and baby is measuring at 10 weeks (which I suspected, I have very long cycles) which puts my EDD to the 1st July!

I felt absolutely dreadful during week 6-9 but I feel like I've finally turned a corner and getting back to my usual self

Sunray33 · 05/12/2023 18:18

I just got a call from the midwife who did my booking appointment and though bloods are fine my urine showed bacteria that indicates a UTI.

I have no UTI symptoms so I'm surprised and ill go get antibiotics from GP ASAP, should I be worried about the baby? Do I need to do anything immediately, I don't get the perception though for a couple of days. Bit worried!

MrsHousePlant · 05/12/2023 18:52

So, I swapped from having pregnacare vitamins to taking separate vitamin d and folic acid tablets. My horrendous heartburn has gone and I generally feel much better. Not sure if it’s linked but the indigestion has definitely settled in the same time frame I stopped taking them…

Nocoffeenotalkie · 05/12/2023 19:03

@MrsHousePlant that's interesting...I have terrible reflux at the moment. Wonder if that would help mine...

soon2be6 · 05/12/2023 19:31

@missmoosh the same, excited but terrified lol! I havent had my NHS scan through yet, my booking appointment is this thursday! Good luck with your scan next week xx

Julymumtobe · 05/12/2023 19:33

@Sunray33 this is probably a stupid question but I take your Fb friends can’t see if you join this private group?

Charlie1863 · 05/12/2023 19:46

I have also stopped talking pregnacare on advice of midwife due to severe morning sickness and instead take seperate tablets for vita & folic acid. Apparently if you are bad with nausea and sickness the pregnacare tablets can make it worse due to iron within them. She has given me separate iron tablets for when I’m feeling better and want to take them.

MrsHousePlant · 05/12/2023 19:52

@Nocoffeenotalkie it could be worth a go! I felt much better after a couple of days.

@Charlie1863 that’s very interesting, has it helped you to feel better too?

Sunray33 · 05/12/2023 19:58

@Julymumtobe Not a silly question at all. It was one I thought about when mentioned. No, your friends won’t be able to see, only members of the group can see who are members and what is posted. The private and hidden group won’t appear on your profile. The only time a friend would see anything is if they were a member of the group which is unlikely to happen- though not impossible.

@Jadeandblue try not to worry. You’ll have your prescription soon. In the meantime, drink plenty of water, keep down below clean avoiding using perfumed products as that should help.

No it's very common in pregnancy, I had one last time, just annoying! Should pose no risk to baby x

trebuvie · 06/12/2023 08:27

Starting to get a bad feeling :( yesterday evening had a reasonable-sized bleed, red blood that was a bit more than spotting - and now this morning feel an odd feeling in my stomach which I can't decide is nausea or something going wrong.

Know there's nothing I can really do, what will be will be...

CB2805 · 06/12/2023 09:33

@trebuvie Contact your OB straight away! Don’t panic and go for an ultrasound to check it out! I had 2 bleeds so far and constant brown spotting, honestly I thought I was MC on the second bleed. It turns out I have a hematoma in one of the sacs.
it’s very scary I know but only a scan can tell.
I hope everything turns out well🤞🩵

missmoosh · 06/12/2023 09:38

@trebuvie defo contact midwife and get a scan to double check! I hope everything is alright and it's just a random bleed!

EmmzRB · 06/12/2023 09:43

@tretrebuvie so sorry to hear that. Hope you get some support and they check you over and all is well.

I've been spotting and the early pregnancy unit are scanning me today to see what's going on.

trebuvie · 06/12/2023 10:35

I'm not sure what to do tbh. I don't actually have a GP really, I moved to my current home in London this year and still registered with my old GP. I had been meaning to get set up here when I found out I was pregnant but hadn't got around to it yet! I was able to self-refer to my closest hospital here (Chelsea and Westminster) for normal midwife services but their EPU says need a GP referral... Will think about it.

Don't appear to have continued bleeding this morning.

I do have access to private GP service through work, maybe will contact them and try to get referral? I guess I also sort of think, what would they be able to do? Could they even help? Then I start reading all these stories about women who had ruptured ectopic pregnancies and I go 😯I need to seek help asap haha. Ah well. Thanks for the support ladies ❤

bringmearainbow · 06/12/2023 10:52

@trebuvie if you haven't registered your gp then 111 should be able to refer you too. Def get a referral to the EPU and get it checked out. How far along are you?

trebuvie · 06/12/2023 11:03

Thanks @bringmearainbow that's a great idea!

On paper (LMP) I'm 7+1 but think good chance I'm up to a week earlier than that just based on possible conception dates - so 6-7wks

bringmearainbow · 06/12/2023 11:07

@trebuvie it wouldn't be too early for a scan so they should be able to see what going on in there. Hopefully nothing 🤞🏼

@trebuvie sorry just read that back not nothing I meant nothing bad 🤦🏼‍♀️

CB2805 · 06/12/2023 11:17

@trebuvie i guess even if you get in touch with your previous GP they should be able to refer you when you explain the situation?
im sure they would be able to provide some kind of assistance and get you a scan today.

EmmzRB · 06/12/2023 12:36

@trebuvie if you know your local hospital I think you can contact them directly.

Good luck and hope all is okay.

If it helps I just had my scan and my spotting was an old bleed from when baby attached.

Muminnthesun · 06/12/2023 13:05

Hi all, finally joining the discussion ☺️
I am 8+4, had my first scan at just over 6 weeks which was lovely. (Expecting our first). Facing the same situation as many on the thread - Christmas and keeping it (at least to some extent) under wraps. Is anyone else eating almost constantly to keep the hungry/sicky feeling at bay?

Wise0wl · 06/12/2023 14:48

Good luck @trebuvie - C&W is a fantastic hospital and EPU will see you if you’re over 6 weeks. Like others I’ve had spotting throughout this pregnancy and have a haematoma. I’ve got everything crossed things are ok for you.

missmoosh · 06/12/2023 17:10

I cannot stop eating today, I'm just never feeling full at all! About to go get myself an Indian takeaway, even though I have already most definitely eaten my daily calories and then some already! (Indian normally keeps me full for the rest of the night hence the choice of food) 😂 anybody else got insatiable hunger??
