Mine has been more discomfort than pain most of thd time, when ive had pains, it took my breath away. Its only happened a few times and didn't last long. I've put it down to braxton hicks. And the discomfort down to pressure and the fact im carrying massive.

Have you rang mau, if your stuggling with pain id go get checked out.

Ive still got lots of mucus coming out and my lower backs hurts but I've decided to wait it out and see what happens. Mau have been utterly crap with me recently ( thats a whole post in its self) so im in no rush to go bk up there unless my waters go

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 28/10/2023 16:33

Be careful, for my mum her waters didn't go until about 10 mins before each of us were born! If you need a c-section I'd head up sooner rather than later, but understand the fact they're so crap puts you off!

Travellingislife · 28/10/2023 16:58

@Alloveragain3 I had back labour with my first one and it was painful, I wish I’d heard about “ spinning babies” then as I think it would have helped. They have lots of videos and information on how to help the baby settle in a more favourable position and many women have said that when they did this in labour it helped ease the pain as well.

Alloveragain3 · 28/10/2023 17:42

Thank you! I've been doing some of the things today (leaning over the yoga ball, crab walking up stairs) but it's so disheartening that baby is staying firmly in position. :(

LeeanneD11 · 28/10/2023 22:11

How you getting on @whatamess100 xx

LilmissCa · 28/10/2023 23:17

@Alloveragain3
I had (hoping past tense) my baby positioned back to back last week, he or she was 4/5 engaged and the pain was immense, felt like I had a broken tailbone.
I was doing figure of 8s on my ball, in the pool (aquanatal yoga) leaning over ball, not sitting or leaving back much, Childs pose (well as much as bump would allow).
I think I've got the baby to move, Hopefully not just not engaged anymore for me but in a better position.
I'm thinking so anyway as the pain as stopped.. back to standard pregnancy pains now.

Alloveragain3 · 28/10/2023 23:20

Thank you @LilmissCa That's so great it seems to have worked for you.

Aquanatal yoga sounds fab, I've never even heard of it before.

I'm currently on hands and knees while browsing mumsnet and I've got a swim booked for the morning. Keeping fingers crossed!

LilmissCa · 28/10/2023 23:43

@Alloveragain3 oh there's a swim position to do & one to avoid. I think back stroke is what to avoid, then any stomach down position to do (do check )
Altho I can't swim, aqua natal yoga is fab, i feel so weight less in the water. The instructor told me to do huge figure of 8s in the pool too. Holding on to the side and swinging hips in figure of 8 positions.

Alloveragain3 · 28/10/2023 23:45

Perfect, that will be me tomorrow morning as the toddlers zip past and throw balls during the family swim!

Sounds so relaxing 😂

I’ve been expressing colostrum to hey dougie with my toddler asking ‘what’s that’ and ‘why’ 🤣

Alloveragain3 · 29/10/2023 09:51

@PinkPlantCase That's brilliant!

I tried expressing for the first time a couple of days ago and DS (he's 3) started to undress to join me in the bath. I never usually take baths, so I think he assumed it was for him. To be fair, I wouldn't really have minded but there's no way he, bump and I would all have fitted!

37+1 and it’s my last full day of ever being pregnant, EVER. And I’m not even sad haha.

Pre op this afternoon. Anyone know how long it takes? And what it involves?

Hope your all feeling ok.

I had mine earlier this week, it was just weight,bp, bloods, urine sample and talking you through what to expect on the day

Psqueak87 · 29/10/2023 11:42

@GreenAventurine good luck ❤️

LilmissCa · 29/10/2023 12:48

@GreenAventurine good luck!!

A little update from me, still pregnant however, but very eventful weekend so far. Started with an ever-growing itchy rash, which then saw me sent to triage for monitoring. Whilst in triage I started to spot red blood when wiping but when examining me couldn’t see a bleed so sent me home (rash is a pregnancy rash). I was home two hours and the bleeding got heavier when wiping so went back to triage where they have now admitted me and potentially staying until baby is born. Bleeding has stopped and they can’t find a cause, but it lasted all day yesterday. 36+5 today so almost full term thank god.

Hope your all well xx

LeeanneD11 · 28/10/2023 22:11

How you getting on @whatamess100 xx

Hi leeanneD11,
Much the same really, still got the muscus coming away, and my lower back aches quite a bit on and off Other than that, I'm fine. How are you?

LeeanneD11 · 29/10/2023 14:08

@whatamess100
I'm ok getting there , getting the odd pressure and back ache , but have a scan tomorrow to check baby growth I'm loosing some of my plug but not a lot but taking it easy we'll as much as I can to be honest xx

GreenAventurine · 29/10/2023 14:22

@WriMum22 sounds very eventful, hope you are ok! Good that you’re almost term now, will they induce you soon or wait for things to progress?

Pre op went well. Feel a lot more prepared about what will happen, which makes me realise how much I was thrown into it as a scared 18 year old.

Feeling very excited, quite nervous and do not know what to do with myself for the rest of the day!

WriMum22 · 29/10/2023 15:20

@GreenAventurine Consultant said they will keep monitoring as every day she’s in there is a bonus but when it’s safe they will do the section. They said that’s the plan unless I go in to labour in which case they will do an emergency section straight away. So all a bit cloudy still, a waiting game basically… Good luck with everything, so exciting for you ☺️☺️ xx

LeeanneD11 · 29/10/2023 18:57

Has any experienced cramps but they go to your leg. I've been having this for a few days , I've got an appointment with consultant Tuesday so will mention to them, but it's like a shooting pain more than anything and the cramping is intense but not that intense to go triage xx

WriMum22 · 29/10/2023 19:07

Yeah I’ve had cramps for a few weeks now and they can do down my legs, happened on all my pregnancies too if I remember correctly. Try not to worry too much though, I’ve had that for a while and also regular contractions this morning on a CTG but my cervix has been closed shut every single time so no movement yet. Think it’s the body preparing for the inevitable x

WriMum22 · 29/10/2023 19:09

@LeeanneD11 sorry forgot to tag above. An after point though, but have you actually been examined yet with everything you’ve had going on? They can do a quick check of your cervix and that’s the best way to know if what you’ve been experiencing is the start of things or just body preparing.

I've got a scan tomorrow , so I'll head up to triage after baby movements are constant, I'm trying to slow down with what I'm doing now but I can't sit still lol , I walk for about 10 mins and then I struggle 😂😂 xx
