@Mrsrobinsonx Congratulations 🩷🩷

@TMI2000 hoping its the start of something for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼

im still here…waiting around 🙈😂 going to go on big long walk now and come back and spend the morning on my ball 😩 I’m fed up 🙈😩

TMI2000 · 16/11/2023 09:47

Bit of a mixed bag at the sweep so really no clue how long it will be! Cervix is still long and firm but they would expect this for my first baby, it still needs to shorten and soften however I am also 2cm dilated which is good and they were able to get in and do a good sweep. Booked in for another sweep next week and then an induction after that if nothing happens. Fingers crossed this one works though! 🥲🤦🏽‍♀️

Thack · 16/11/2023 10:14

Congratulations @Mrsrobinsonx !@Mrsrobinsonx ! Are you back home? How have the bigger kids reacted?

@LeeanneD11 it sounds like your milk is coming in, it will be painful for a day or so while your supply settles. I agree, nipple cream is amazing, it's in the supermarkets, boots, chemists. Ask your midwife to watch a feed. They'll advise on position and latch.
It's new for both of you. It does get better.

This little one would not open their mouth wide to latch, it hurt at the start of each feed. My nipples were sore for the first week. Cream helped and baby got the hang of it as they grew bigger.
Do get help ASAP, I've been here before so knew what to do.

LeeanneD11 · 16/11/2023 11:00

Thank you @Thack , I'll ask them to watch me feed, it did hurt at first but now they are rock solid lol , and they hurt so much , and I don't want to give up as his seems to find them pretty well, but won't be on it for long xx

Mrsrobinsonx · 16/11/2023 14:43

@Thack yes! We were discharged about 2pm yesterday, she was about 10 hours old.
they wanted it faster but she needed extra checks and I took my time 😂

big sisters love her, they didn’t want to go to school bless them. Xx

Travellingislife · 16/11/2023 16:21

@Mrsrobinsonx aw congratulations! What a fast labour/ birth too! Hope you’re all doing well 😊

After a horrendous night our girl was born with emc at 10am this morning. She is doing brilliantly and we are in love! I didn’t get my water birth but I’m just so happy she is ok!

Rebs23 · 16/11/2023 17:51

I’m getting a sweep tomorrow (40+2) - does anyone have any insights or advice on what I should expect pain wise? I’ve never had anything like this done so a bit nervous!

congrats to all the new babies and everyone surviving the first few weeks with them!! Xx

LeeanneD11 · 16/11/2023 19:52

Hey!

Any chance section mummas could give me some useful tips and advice please

So I had a section 2 days ago and I'm now struggling to get out of bed and in bed too. And especially the stairs to get to the bedroom. I've also been suffering with bad shoulder pain where it will lock or spasm and affect me using it and to pick up my little one I have a next 2 me crib but it's not getting easier for me . How did you manage to get out of bed and how did you manage to sleep at night . As I can't sit up as I struggle to get back up out of bed .

I'm finding Google kinda useless lol 😂😂

I'm not sure if I have trapped wind due to the surgery or it's cause I've slept funny overnight sitting up in a awkward position 😂😂 xx

TMI2000 · 16/11/2023 20:30

@Rebs23 i had one today and it’s definitely not comfortable and I can see how it would be painful. For me it felt like a particularly bad cramp and there was a lot of pressure.
I kind of just grit my teeth to get through it and it literally took less than 5 minutes.

good luck lovely!

Nov2023 · 16/11/2023 22:37

Hope everyone is doing well with their babies and those still waiting are doing ok too! Has anyone had a sharp pain in and around their belly button? Mine has been achy the past few days but is very tender when I move tonight-bending and even getting up off the sofa is not fun. Does this seem normal for the last couple of weeks of pregnancy?

Rebs23 · 16/11/2023 22:58

@TMI2000 Thank you for sharing your insights I really appreciate it! Xx

Crazybrowncow · 16/11/2023 23:24

@LeeanneD11 it's really hard. I slept on a puppy pad, but you could use a bag for life, which will help you move more easily, they recommend it for the car too. I found I could put some weight on the next to me to help pull up, get you legs out to the side first.

I also kind of pushed my back using my other hand. It is tricky but hopefully will get easier for you. Stay on top of pain relief too. Good luck x

That's what I've been using the next 2 me crib to help but then I get stuck lol , I cried so much last night my partner was getting a little worried for me too, I'm hoping it will get easier as time goes on . This is my second one but I had a time with this section this time round , I will try those things you suggested and see how I get on , do you find it comfortable on back or side xx

Crazybrowncow · 17/11/2023 01:03

First few nights I could t sleep in my side, it felt painful on my wound. I had to tell myself it was a treat to sleep on my back after pregnancy and kind of relaxed/meditated into it!!

Can your partner help support you up? I think you've only got another night of really feeling it, then you might find it improves a bit. Have you got after pains too, I found they made it worse.

Yeah my partner helps me out a lot especially with baby , yeah I do have after pains but I had to be to put to sleep in the end for my surgery, but I'm hoping it eases off soon . Yeah I've been sleeping on my back, but when I get up I struggle to as been the position for ages xx

Not C section, but laparoscopy. I found hugging a pillow to my wound if I needed to roll/move helped a lot. I also slept propped up first night so I didn't have the extra effort of trying to sit up x

Mrsrobinsonx · 17/11/2023 06:50

Hello new mummies 👶🏼
baby girl is 2 days old, she’s breastfeeding but not very hungry? I can’t remember how it went with my second but she is waking every 2 hours ish, but sometimes just wants to cuddle/look around, she’s latching fine and not in any discomfort/hunger but she just seems to latch shortly and then fall asleep and I’m trying lots to encourage longer feeding but not much is working, especially at night! X

BabyBabyBaby123 · 17/11/2023 08:05

@Mrsrobinsonx for my sleepy baby I was advised to strip him down to his nappy or even change his nappy midway through a feed to wake him up enough to have a decent amount of milk.

Don’t forget her stomach is very small at the minute and colostrum is thick and has lots of calories, so as long as she is gaining weight then I’m sure she’s fine and she will be less sleepy as the days go on.

LeeanneD11 · 17/11/2023 22:51

Hi everyone hope all the new mums are doing well and recovering well too,

I'm also breastfeeding my little one but he won't latch on so I'm pumping but would you recommend for pumping wise like how long and how many times a day, when I did some pumping earlier and got some he managed to take it well from the bottle from my breast , as my breast are so engorged atm his struggling to latch on so I'm trying this way but every time I do it for ten mins I'm only getting a little out or more of one the other .

Is there any tips for this please xx

Katiec1 · 17/11/2023 23:01

@LeeanneD11 i pumped for my twins while they were in nicu.
I kept to a routine of every 3 hours, even during the night I’d have the alarm set to get up and pump.
It wasn’t so much as how long to pump for but more so how much I could get. So I’d pump on one till nothing came out then switched to the other. Or if I had the double pump available I obviously did both at the same time.
it did take a couple of days for supply to pick up but once it did it came in great x

Ah perfect thank you, I have a single one atm , the midwife did say I have great milk supply . But that's good advice thank you I'll try that tonight and see how I get on with it all thank you xx

GreenAventurinee · 17/11/2023 23:16

Hi ladies. What are your C-section scars looking like almost three weeks pp?
Mine has become more tender(?) in the last day or so. Just wondering if this is normal?

DollyGx · 18/11/2023 03:33

Wow the babies are coming thick and fast now! Our baby girl arrived on Wednesday afternoon 🥳 got home yesterday afternoon so stilll settling in a bit! Labour went well and don’t get me wrong it was tough but not as bad as I expected. I ended up with forceps as baby went back to back at the last minute and decided to wrap herself in her cord and scare us with a very low heart rate! So after a pretty plain sailing labour we were whipped down to theatre and she was out in 3 pushes! All worth it though 🥰
