@UnwieldyRhombus Congratulations!! Can relate to the emotions. My pregnancy was my third and last and a massive rollercoaster. So glad to put the pregnancy chapter behind me, but also spent 5 mins tonight randomly crying because I missed being pregnant and I’m sad I’ll never do it again, although you def couldn’t pay me all the money in the world to do it again. I still sat sobbing it’s all over 🙈😂.. these pesky hormones. I’ve also gotten emotional because baby won’t stay so small for long and before I know she will be grown up… she’s not been 2 days old yet 🤣🤣

Psqueak87 · 01/11/2023 22:03

@UnwieldyRhombus congratulations, sorry it didn’t happen as planned, but so happy you’re both healthy! Hopefully your sleep improves soon 😜

Psqueak87 · 01/11/2023 22:05

@LilmissCa oh my! Yes I’d have the same fears if I was told 6lb 9oz at 33 weeks. Lol. Although if it puts your mind at ease, my babe has only grown just under 2lb in 5 weeks by estimates, anddd she said the “estimated” weight is “give or take 17oz” so there’s quite a lot of room for error 😵‍💫

Crazybrowncow · 01/11/2023 22:43

Congratulations to those with their bubs, what a busy few days!!

I've been hit with PGP today, it's been brewing but fully there now -Oh LaLa it hurts! Well done to those who've had it some weeks!

I'm in full nesting mode, driving my husband mad! Not long to go!

LilmissCa · 01/11/2023 22:45

@Psqueak87 oh I'll take 2more lb haha will be almost 38wks come Friday, there's big margin for error in the estimates but my last 2 babies definitely couldn't be called small. The heavier of the 2 at 9lb5 was actually easier to deliver.. holding on to that!

Psqueak87 · 01/11/2023 23:36

@LilmissCa that’s deffo reassuring! I know I was an 8lber, and my partner was a 6lber, so I’m hoping she slots right in the middle of that! Good luck for the scan ☺️

DollyGx · 01/11/2023 23:37

@Crazybrowncow another PGP sufferer here! Really struggled the last couple of days, even considered contacting a chiropractor/physio today but I’m due next Friday so seems a bit pointless at this stage 😬

foodislife1 · 01/11/2023 23:58

Thanks all! Hopefully your will all get to meet your babies very soon!
For those that had a csec - how long does it take for your milk to come through? Newborn wants feeding every 50mins

Mldn · 02/11/2023 00:56

My baby boy arrived on 1.11.23 a day before his due date, weighing a gorgeous 7lb2oz & I am besotted!

I went into labour at 11pm in 30.10.23 - contracting very 5/6 mins, getting more and more intense until 5am when I decided to go to hospital where I found out my cervix wasn’t open, although they confirmed I was in labour, it was a case of taking a codeine & heading back home to continue!

The pains were immense by 5pm & hospital advised I go back for gas & air & another examination. A super busy triage meant I didn’t get seen for any pain relief until about 930pm - when they offered another vagina and examination - still not open! But due to the contractions on the CTG they told me to go for a walk and come back at 11pm for a potential induction, which I agreed to! At 11pm they did a sweep & I was now 1cm & advised I now I should go for straight epidural, no induction & have my waters broken to push the contractions on & dilate. I agreed.. at 5am 31.10.23 I finally had a room & gas & air for the horrendous contractions, the epidural was fitted about 7am & waters broken too about 8am. I was left to contract until midday & then checked again… still only 1cm 😩

So now due to days in labour, my contractions now averaging 4/5 in 10 mins and really intense, they advised I go for c-section as babies heart beat was dropping regularly with the stress from the constant contractions over such a long period.

I was initially gutted & cried so much, not due to a C-section now being the way I would give birth, but cos I hadn’t ate or slept since it started Monday evening & I had laboured through so much! I felt a bit defeated by my body.

Anyway, moral of my long story - I got gowned up, and had my gorgeous boy, Dexter, in my arms by 1.15pm on 1.11.23 & I could not be more in love with him or proud of what my body did to get him here!

Apologies for the ramble - but best of luck & love to all still due to meet their babies 🤍

Psqueak87 · 02/11/2023 03:13

@Mldn congratulations! That whole story sounds so stressful but so happy you’re both healthy! ❤️

Crazybrowncow · 02/11/2023 03:22

Congratulations @Mldn - it really does sound stressful, massive well done!! Enjoy the snuggles x

LeeanneD11 · 02/11/2023 06:31

Hi ladies

I had a start of a headache last night just after 9pm and I've woken up to it still, I had slight blurred vision when in the bath seeing bright white shining across my face , and then when I to the bathroom it felt like the light was switching . I feel sick and a bad headache I've done a Covid test as my partner tested positive for Covid last week and I can't tell if I can see a faint postive or if it negative xx

@LeeanneD11 Headaches, blurred vision and feeling sick are all symptoms of pre eclampsia which is far more dangerous than covid. Please go and get your blood pressure checked.

I've got midwife today so I'll tell her what's going on xx

DollyGx · 02/11/2023 08:25

@Mldn wow well done you, that sounds really tough going!! But massive congratulations on baby boy, wonderful news! Hope you are recovering well now, take it easy ❤️‍🩹

Lillybobs86 · 02/11/2023 09:41

Congrats to everyone who has had there babies already 🎉 ❤️

I'm still suffering with Carpel tunnel so bad it's so uncomfortable 😭

I'm also wondering when everyone stopped their Pregnacare max?
I'm 35 weeks and run out of the omega strips but still have another basic pack of pregnacare - do I buy more Pregnacare Max or continue without omega capsules 🤔

Travellingislife · 02/11/2023 10:44

Congratulations on all the babies! @Mldn that sounded tough but like you did brilliantly! Enjoy the baby bubble ☺️

I just had acupuncture and she said she is convinced it’s a girl and that I’ll give birth tomorrow or Saturday. I feel nothing now so we will see.
I had acupuncture a day before giving birth to my son as well but then I was nearly 42 weeks so he was very ready to come out, now I’m nearly 40 weeks but they want to induce me on Tuesday so hopefully the baby will come before that!

Thack · 02/11/2023 10:47

Congratulations @UnwieldyRhombus and @Mldn 💕
I'm glad the babies are doing well, it must be disappointing for it not to go as planned. Ask your hospital about their afterthoughts service (I think that was the name). Maybe not for right away, but it might help for someone to sit down and run through the birth with you sometime.

Hope you can get some rest mummys!

LeeanneD11 · 02/11/2023 11:14

@PinkPlantCase

Hi I've been to see midwife and my blood pressure was 128/90 and then went to 104/92 in the space of 10 mins

She has sent me up to MAU, as she wants me to get the headache checked out and for them to a pcr kit .
I'm now worried as never experienced this before

Should I be worried ? Xx

PinkPlantCase · 02/11/2023 12:12

@LeeanneD11 I think the threshold for ‘high’ blood pressure in pregnancy is a top number over 140 or a bottom number over 90. So yours looks a bit borderline but a long way off ‘get the baby out’ high.

There are specific test they can do which will tell them if it is pre eclampsia or not which go beyond the usual dip stick in urine. Sorry I’m not sure if it’s a wee test or a blood test though.

If they’re worried about your blood pressure they might offer you more monitoring or blood pressure tablets in the first instance.

Eclampsia can be very serious, it’s probably one of the very few situations where I would agree to an induction. But hospitals are generally very good at managing it and spotting the signs.

Hope you don’t feel too rotten. If you’re ill with something else or it is covid that might cause your blood pressure to be a bit higher too. Hopefully you get some answers in the MAU x

She did say it's borderline but not to high but wants me to get checked over , cause of the blurred vision and headaches , as I've still got the headache even after taking paracetamol , I hope I get some answers too xx

@LeeanneD11 have you got your older kids at home for half term too? These things happen at the best times don’t they 🙈

No luckily they are back at school but due to the storm we had I kept them off so they are home today luckily enough , it's just the wait I hate up there luckily midwife took my bloods already for me xx

Psqueak87 · 02/11/2023 13:50

@Travellingislife I just did three accupuncture sessions too, but they didn’t result in any baby movement unfortunately - and now she’s on holiday for two weeks. But I’m still forever grateful for her as she saved me the stress (and about 25,000$ in IVF costs) by helping me get pregnant in the first place!
