@1994jk around 16 weeks but with my first born it was comfortably after 20 weeks, definitely feeling this one earlier x

Misty84 · 21/11/2023 05:49

@1994jk It was in the 18th week for me but it can take up to 24 weeks so you don’t need to be worrying.

@theodora2146 Lovely news, congratulations, boy here too! 💙

Ttcmumma · 21/11/2023 07:30

Any of you ladies had your whooping cough vaccine and did it make you ill? I've had such a bad fever, aches pains, headache, dizziness etc since having it yesterday. That was an awful night's sleep 🤦🏼‍♀️

SummerOak · 21/11/2023 08:49

@1994jk I started feeling movements at the end of 18th week. FTM here so I think I missed all the bubbles/flutters and went straight to kicks. I really wouldn't worry that you're not feeling anything yet, it will happen.

@Ttcmumma no vaccines yet, not sure when I'll get them. Was is after your scan? Hope you're feeling better soon.

Bizjustgotreal · 21/11/2023 08:57

@Ttcmumma I didn't get I'll from the whopping cough jab. I had the WC and the flu jabs at the same time, and had some bad nights sleep off the back of them, as both arms felt like they'd had birthday bumps from Tyson Fury. I felt a little rough, like I was coming down with a cold, but I feel that whenever my sleep is interrupted.

Get well soon!

I've got my 20 WK scan at the end of this week - so excited!!!!!

As for movements, I had them around 20 weeks with DC1, but I got the bubbles at 16 week this time and have proper movements now. Not strong enough for hubby to feel though

Ttcmumma · 21/11/2023 09:28

@SummerOak @Bizjustgotreal thanks ladies, I don't think I reacted to it with my son. I had it at the hospital after my scan. I may have just caught something else but the timing was weird

Amf2508 · 21/11/2023 09:33

Hi sorry to jump on this post I'm due 5th April 24...
Was wondering if any of you ladies have ever experienced bleeding (weeks 15,16 & 17) and then had a low lying placenta (posterior) found at 20 week scan? They didn't really say much about it at the scan and just hoping to hear other's experiences 🙈

sweetdreams23 · 21/11/2023 13:28

@Amf2508 i didn’t have any bleeding but did have a low lying placenta discovered at my 20 week scan last pregnancy, they kind of just told me that with no extra info and it wasn’t until I got home and googled I was like ohhhh this can be bad in some instances. But for me it didn’t come with any extra issues and when they rescanned me at 32 weeks the placenta had moved and I went on to have a normal delivery x

Cora24601 · 21/11/2023 15:15

@theodora2146 congratulations on your little boy. I'm having a boy too and after 2 losses I know how much you can reel from it all. Try and enjoy these lovely moments and hopefully you can breath a little easier 😊

BVIre · 21/11/2023 15:47

@Amf2508 FTM here and I had my 20 week scan last week where she said my placenta was lying ever so slightly low but again said it was likely nothing to worry about but the consultant would re-scan me at 32 weeks just to check then. From googling I think in like 90% of cases it has resolved itself by the 32 weeks and moves up as baby grows & your uterus expands but the sonographer seemed very relaxed about it and said it was nothing to worry about at this point.

I did find out when I’m googling it can be slightly more likely to occur if you’re having a boy for whatever reason which I thought was interesting! Because all other potential causes were smoking, being higher risk, using drugs etc.

Amf2508 · 21/11/2023 15:50

@sweetdreams23 I wasn't too worried initially as I know it's common, but I think the previous bleeds have freaked me out a bit. Just hoping it moves and I won't have any more bleeds 😩 Note to self stop googling! 🙈

Janeykat · 21/11/2023 16:24

I've had a week of good news after a really stressful month.. was previously diagnosed with TRAP syndrome which was really scary and potentially dangerous for the baby...specialists have now changed their minds on this and think it is a large benign tumor which is must less likely to cause harm to the baby. Yay...never thought I would be so delighted to have a tumor😅🤣

Got my NIPT results today and am low risk for everything and am officially having a little girl😊 I think it is time to allow myself to get excited!

Mrsttcno1 · 21/11/2023 17:15

Has anyone started really getting organised for baby yet? We’ve only bought bits and bobs of clothes and when my grandparents came round on Saturday they were gobsmacked to know we haven’t even started on a nursery yet, or started ordering any of the things we need!! So now I’m feeling a bit stressed and wondering if we really are behind? X

ASGIRC · 21/11/2023 17:23

@Mrsttcno1 LOL no. I have bought the tub, as the one I wanted was at a really good price on Vinted. And I have about 3 bags of hand me down clothes. I have personally only bought 1 babygrow/onesie, and have been gifted 1 outfit and 1 interior body.

Today I took some measurements of the room that will be the nursery, but the transformation will only, realistically, happen in the new year. Im due early April (but hoping for a mid March delivery!)

As for movement, I started feeling my baby at 17ish weeks, but was only certain it was her and not gas at the very end of 17 weeks, and that was because I felt 3 kicks on the same exact spot, and it would be really weird for gas to be that... specific!
Even now, on days when I am gassier, I have trouble telling if its gas or the baby!

sweetdreams23 · 21/11/2023 17:52

Oh no I wouldn’t worry yet. You’ve got plenty of time. Luckily we have got pretty much everything from our first and it’s a lovely thought not to have that expense this time!! But wouldn’t havnt started buying until after Xmas

Ttcmumma · 21/11/2023 18:17

@Mrsttcno1 no way! I told people that knew to not buy anything until after my 20 week scan. After a loss in January I'm a little paranoid. I know what car seat and next to me crib I want to get but going to look in the January sales for most stuff. Have my son's buggy, swing and a few bits I can use again. My mum has been looking at baby clothes but is waiting until after Christmas before buying too! Baby girl currently has nothing of her own and I'm 20+1 haha, no rush at all x

SummerOak · 21/11/2023 20:20

Congratulations on you baby girl @Janeykat! Glad that it's not the syndrome they thought at the start, but also sorry they think it's a tumor. Hopefully that can be resolved once the baby comes.

@Mrsttcno1 so far I only bought 2 baby outfits. We don't have anything else 😅 I'll start buying stuff in January and hope to have everything by March.

MumDaisy1980 · 22/11/2023 02:47

@Mrsttcno1 ha- somehow after know preg, we first change our bed (thinking as parents need good night sleep) . after first scan knowing baby is healthy , my husband bought a family car. 😅

and no way close to getting any baby items. but we just doing research like dumping any screenshot or links to a baby list, will get them when closer to due date knowing baby is healthy and it’s happening.

great tips from others about Jan sales

beside, we thinking make use of charity shop also.

Alice4875 · 22/11/2023 04:28

Don't think I have felt any movements yet either to be honest but only 18+4 with first baby.

Also not bought anything yet. Want to wait until after 20 week scan to be honest which is 2 weeks today and then probably make a start after Christmas.

ZB86 · 22/11/2023 12:38

I haven't noticed any movements either. 19 weeks today, scan a week today.

Does anyone know what food you are allowed to take abroad on your suitcase? I have looked on the airlines website and it just says no products from hunting animals but I'm sure there's more restrictions than that. I will be quite restricted what I can eat at the hotel as they love raw meat and fish and other foods I can't have!

Also any suggestions for flight socks in pregnancy? They all seem to be based on foot size only but I want proper ones that take into account my calf measurement etc as it's a long flight. Thank you x

mrsed1987 · 22/11/2023 12:47

Hi all, don't think I've been on here since the first thread lol. I'm due 14th April so 19 weeks 3 days.

I've felt some little flutters and think I felt a movement earlier but this is my second baby. With my first I was about 21 weeks before I felt flutters and later than that when I felt proper movements. I had an anterior (at the front) placenta as well as being a size 18 so a little cushioned which may have had an impact also

Emilyj13 · 22/11/2023 13:30

Hi all,
Not to panic you but if your child will need to go to nursery you may want to start looking..crazy I know! Ours will need to from April 25 as we have no other support and already 2 in my local area have responded to say they are full until September 25.

I really struggle with this, I know so many people that have had issues so I know it is an issue in some places, but I found a nursery easily, on two occasions. The first in September 2019 to start in Feb 2020 and the second in August 2020 and he started in the September 2020.

I'm hoping my son's old nursery will be able to take this one. I'll ask them when he goes in for holiday club just before Xmas

sweetdreams23 · 22/11/2023 18:22

Yes I’ve never had any problem getting my daughter in with relatively short notice to two different nurseries however I know it can differ in different places. this time though there’s lots of changes to childcare funding coming in in 2025 and baby spaces can be limited due to staffing ratios so I will be ensuring I can get baby a place at my daughters nursery by getting name down early! ( they won’t be going until 12 months)

Ttcmumma · 22/11/2023 18:46

I've never used a nursery (besides the standard 3 hours in a school nursery at 3 years old) but I know a lot of people in my area, east London, have been on 2 year long waiting lists so I'm not surprised!
