Had my 20th week scan today. Found out we're having a boy 💙 Now the name struggles can really begin 😅

ASGIRC · 24/11/2023 17:17

I had my 20 week scan today! All looking good!
Baby girl is grpwing nicely and looks healthy.

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 24/11/2023 23:29

Yay, can't believe people are already having anatomy scans, time really flies! Glad your babas are healthy @ASGIRC @SummerOak

Mine's in 2 weeks, so fingers crossed that all goes well.

Had my 16 week appointment earlier (at 17+5) and heard heartbeat. She booked my next app in for mid Feb though, which is 29 weeks for me. I thought it was supposed to be 25 weeks for ftm?

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess 24 weeks for first pregnancies, 28 weeks for subsequent pregnancies. My next one is at 28 weeks as I already have a son x

CB23CB · 25/11/2023 07:45

Morning everyone!
Coming up to my 20 week scan this week which is blowing my little mind!!
Still not felt anything from baby, anyone else in the same boat, I'm impatient now! I want a kick!!!

Ttcmumma · 25/11/2023 08:19

I feel like this is insanely early but I'm starting to see the little kicks from the outside of my belly! Ill be 21 weeks on Monday. It's my second child but a loss in-between so I'm wondering if my body is working as if it's third child as it seems to be happening so quickly this time!

I'm certain I hadn't felt my son yet at this point

Amf2508 · 25/11/2023 08:36

@Ttcmumma I'm on my 3rd but last was 7 years ago 🙈 I'm currently 21+1 and Thursday evening my partner felt a proper kick, super strong! Think it depends on where baby is, the kick was low down and the skin was quite tight at the time so could feel it more predominantly. I imagine it all depends on baby's position at the time!

SummerOak · 25/11/2023 12:06

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess I'd definitely check why you're only booked in at 29th week. I got mine booked for 25th week as FTM.

ZB86 · 25/11/2023 16:46

@CB23CB I'm in the same boat. First time I have got this far after an mmc last year. 20 weeks in a few days and not noticed any movement so far. Although lots of people.on this thread have already felt movements they do say it's normal not to until a few weeks later, even more so depending if first baby, placenta position (I don't know mine) and if you're carrying some extra weight which I am..hope scan goes well x

87mum · 25/11/2023 20:01

Evening all, due #2 April 24th, another boy 💙 20 week scan this coming Friday (will be 19+2). Can't believe how quick it's gone second time round.

Pinkstuffs · 26/11/2023 17:39

Is anyone still randomly really tired and emotional? Yesterday and today I’ve been bursting into tears at the smallest thing, and I also feel completely wiped out. I thought this was just a first trimester symptom, although I didn’t feel so emotional then - probably because I felt so sick that I couldn’t really feel anything else!

CinderRosie · 26/11/2023 19:08

@Pinkstuffs Yes definitely - tired and emotional here too. Most days I’m exhausted and wanting a nap by 2pm which is impossible at work! I’m also emotional and crying at the silliest thing, watching anything emotional on TV or anything sad and I’m done for.

Emilyj13 · 26/11/2023 19:30

Is anyone else still quite poorly with pregnancy symptoms? I am 19+2 and I seem to have a good 4 days or so then go back to feeling sick, unable to eat, no energy, headaches. I am assuming this is just unfortunately pregnancy symptoms but wondering whether I should be speaking to my midwife as to any other reasons why I may feel like this? I’m finding it really difficult after previous loss I should be grateful to be pregnant but I feel quite depressed now as can hardly leave the house as feeling so poorly.

1994jk · 26/11/2023 21:01

@Pinkstuffs I have been feeling a bit better recently but today I feel completely knackered again, was out for lunch with friends and had to say sorry I've got to go home cos I suddenly felt exhausted!

@Emilyj13 I also felt a bit sick again this morning which I haven't in a while. I'm 17+5, I'm guessing some symptoms can just come and go in waves? But this is my first pregnancy so I don't really know what is normal sorry! I still get a lot of aches and pains and cramps in my stomach like I did in the 1st trimester too and midwives aren't concerned so symptoms must just be different for everyone x

theodora2146 · 27/11/2023 09:52

Morning all,

Anyone else get little twinges low down in the belly (close to the lady garden area) I've been having them on and off since yesterday evening.

CinderRosie · 27/11/2023 10:02

@theodora2146 yep I've had these, and at the side. Ligaments stretching apparently to make way for growing uterus, if it's on/off and they go away when you change position or rest it's probably what it is.

theodora2146 · 27/11/2023 10:10

Thank you! Kinda like a very mild period type twinge?

CinderRosie · 27/11/2023 11:45

@theodora2146 yep just like this. Had it when jogging the other day too so I'm going to get a support band.

RoaryLion1 · 27/11/2023 14:54

Yes I’ve been having this too! Like v mild period pain. Had it with my first baby and mentioned it to the midwife who said it was ligament pain from the uterus growing, nothing to worry about! And was told you can take paracetamol if it’s uncomfortable.

1994jk · 27/11/2023 18:48

Hi everyone, today for most of the day I have had quite an intense dull achey feeling really low down under my little bump (like lower abdomen/groin area), lower back ache and at one point for about 15 mins it was also in the top of my thighs. Once I got home from work it has pretty much gone apart from a couple of twinges of it which only lasted seconds. I wouldn't say it was painful enough that I felt the need for painkillers but it was worse than I've experienced so far. I'm currently at the end of a course of ABs for a UTI, and got this feeling but milder last week which is what made me go to the doctors in the 1st place, but strangely enough I checked my urine test results on the NHS app and it says they are fine so dont know why i was given ABs!

Has anyone else had anything like this? I had a private scan on Friday and baby was fine, but now I can't help but think something isn't right 😩😪 I'm 18 weeks tomorrow.

Bluesky85 · 27/11/2023 19:31

@1994jk I had this the other day after I’d been swimming. It was a kind of dull ache low down, across my pubic bone and in my groin/ tops of legs. For me, I think it was the swimming that had aggravated something, but it did just disappear on its own. Have you done any exercise/ different movements in the last day or so? If you’ve just finished AB it’s unlikely to be an infection? I am putting all these kind of things down to random aches and pains that seem to come out of nowhere. Maybe ask the midwife if it’s still like it tomorrow? X

1994jk · 27/11/2023 19:44

@Bluesky85 I'm not aware of doing anything differently to be honest! It has been completely gone for a couple of hours now though, so yes I'm hoping it's just normal things happening, my bump does seem a bit bigger/different shape today I think a bit rounder, so 🤞 it's just that. Thank you x

sweetdreams23 · 27/11/2023 19:50

@1994jk have you started using a pregnancy pillow yet? I’ve woke up a bit achy a few times so dig out my pregnancy pillow and it’s really helped!

1994jk · 27/11/2023 20:38

@sweetdreams23 yeh just for the last couple of nights ive used one, I'm still finding sleeping extremely uncomfortable though, I hate sleeping on my side and my back was killing in the night last night even with the pillow! so god knows what il try tonight

SummerOak · 28/11/2023 08:10

Which pregnancy pillows are you using? I'm having trouble getting into a good position now, so guess it's time to order one.
