@Toda11 Congratulations! 🥳 exciting times. I was told by window to womb that a small cyst can indicate you ovulated from that side and is quite common! :)

@Nina7 good luck tomorrow! Also- me too, I’m definitely changing shape..!!

LondonGirl1992 · 19/10/2023 18:58

Oh my gosh I just had my window to the womb reassurance scan too! For those of you who don’t know, I’ve had a somewhat traumatic start- three threatened miscarriages, a giant subchorionic Hematoma which was as big as the baby at 6 weeks and two A&E trips due to HUGE bleeds. Since my last scan at 6 weeks, I had another bleed but it wasn’t as big so it didn’t warrant another scan on the NHS. I’ve therefore spent 3 weeks in utter limbo with no idea if our baby was still there! I’ve had awful sickness (lost a stone and a half already and being sick 4+ times a day- which to be honest I’ve been so happy about because it’s so reassuring).

Well the scan was just AMAZING. A strong heartbeat in our little precious baked bean AND…. Only a tiny bleed left! I am just so over the moon/overwhelmed/emotional all at once.

They measured it at 9 weeks and I got to bring a little photo home too! It looks like a little jelly bean! ❤️🥰

fingers crossed its smoother sailing from here 🥰

@LondonGirl1992 sorry to hear you’ve had such a stressful start… I can’t imagine how hard that must have been on top of all the sickness!! Poor you. So happy to hear you’ve had such a positive scan. Hopefully you can feel a little bit more relaxed now 🤞🏼

PeppedUp · 22/10/2023 19:01

Hello, hope everyone’s going well. Just wondering if anyone on their second or subsequent pregnancies is having less symptoms/food aversions than first time around?

Admittedly my symptoms weren’t too bad the first time, but I remember a good couple of weeks where I couldn’t eat anything but rice and crackers. This time there are a few things that make me scrunch up my nose but overall I’m able to eat mostly what I’d normally eat. Just makes me a little nervous!

I thought this was weird! In my 1st pregnancy I went off tea and chicken, second I went off chicken and Pepsi and this one I've been fine aversions wise. I felt more sick with my daughter, less sick with my son and the sickest ever with this pregnancy. Boobs haven't been as sore with this pregnancy either. I am absolutely exhausted though and 0 energy which I didn't have with my other 2.

Holdmysunhat · 22/10/2023 19:38

@PeppedUp my only aversion this time is coffee (sob!!) Last time it was chicken, eggs and a few other things. Weirdly I’ve had a tonne more sickness this time but it hasn’t translated to aversions. I wouldn’t worry. I don’t think there’s any link between aversions and the health of a pregnancy.

PeppedUp · 22/10/2023 21:07

Chicken is actually one of foods I can’t handle this time around!

@Mystic94 I think I may have more exhaustion too for this pregnancy but last time I had no toddler to run after and it was the pandemic so I was spending heaps of time chilling out at home.

@Holdmysunhat You’re right that it’s probably nothing to worry about - I remember also being anxious about a lack of symptoms last time and it turned out fine. It does make me less anxious than last time but I’m still a bit nervous!

Rose5555 · 23/10/2023 07:33

@PeppedUp ive been feeling similarly to you. With my son I remember feeling completely exhausted, very nauseous and retchy and the thought of a lot of food (most meat, tea, coffee) made me gag. With my daughter it was lockdown and I was at home with my 1 year old son so it’s hard to compare but I think I felt much more exhausted… I remember some mornings lying on his bedroom floor and not feeling like I could even sit up to play with him. I also felt more nauseous I think…
With this one I feel like I’m getting off more lightly. I am tired, but it’s not the crushing exhaustion I remember, and I feel nauseous in the afternoons and evenings but it’s very manageable. I’ve spent most of the past two months wondering if there’s really a baby in there at all. The only stronger symptom for me this time is my boobs, which are growing by the day and so sore!!! It’s making me think I must be having a boy, as I’m sure symptoms were stronger with my daughter than with my son…
I’m trying not to worry, and I don’t think you should either… maybe our bodies are just a bit less shocked by being pregnant second / third time round?!

PeppedUp · 23/10/2023 12:30

@Rose5555 I find it so hard to compare exhaustion levels as I’m doing way more in this pregnancy than the other! I do remember sometimes struggling to keep my eyes open when I was working from home last time and I don’t think I’ve had anything as bad this time around, but I think my insomnia has kicked in way earlier this time which means I’m generally just low level tired all the time

LondonGirl1992 · 24/10/2023 10:07

Is anybody else experiencing cramps? I’ve had them since last night- they feel like bad period cramps and come and go intermittently. Also have nausea again this morning- yuk!

TheBirdintheCave · 24/10/2023 10:54

@LondonGirl1992 Not in this pregnancy but I did with my son.

Sa11yCinnamon · 24/10/2023 12:00

@LondonGirl1992 I have cramps and spotting most days, even when I know the cause of it (and have read that both are normal for a number of reasons!) it's not fun. I just want to feel all lovely and glowy 😂

Rose5555 · 24/10/2023 13:41

@LondonGirl1992 not yet, but I read somewhere recently that cramps can be quite common around 10/11 weeks. How far along are you?

Nelliepledge · 24/10/2023 14:11

Hey dunno if it's a silly question but do they listen to the baby's heart at a booking appointment? Think i read somewhere it was audible with a stethoscope from 9ish weeks and just wondered if there was any reassurance from this appointment or its just a history taking appointment? Thanks x

I didn’t have that happen for me at 10+2, just blood and urine sample

Holdmysunhat · 24/10/2023 17:21

@Nelliepledge that’s not a silly question :) They dont usually take the heartbeat, no. Ive been told it’s because it can be a little tricky to find at that stage and they don’t want to panic people.
