Hi all, just continuing the previous thread.

@Holdmysunhat I got the seasickness bands you suggested, I think they're great!!

Just went to triage to be on the safe side- in and out in 10 minutes and baby is fine! Must just have got itself into a funny old position where I can’t feel it. Feel so much better and less anxious for going! Little munchkin 🫣

Sa11yCinnamon · 22/01/2024 12:46

@LondonGirl1992 glad you got that reassurance! You definitely did the right thing x

Nina7 · 22/01/2024 14:04

@LondonGirl1992 that's nice and reassuring!
I thought my little one was not moving as much as usual over the weekend, but I think it was because I was quite busy having friends over and didn't stop to relax and notice...
I'm feeling him more today.

@Toda11 , that is such great, reassuring news! My husband is medical and was asking the sonographer about valves and chambers on the 20 week scan, but they couldn't see a lot of details, but everything seemed fine :)
I'll tell him that they can check even for holes between chambers, he'll find that exciting!

Yes, it's so exciting that we're now "seasoned" pregnant women! Passed the half way point. 😍
I feel ready to stop working and focus on the pregnancy (and look up more about birth), but unfortunately my maternity leave is still ages away!

What are you taking in terms of supplements?
I take :

  • pregnacare
  • omega 3
  • iron (every other day - given by the midwives)

But I now noticed that pregnacare has no calcium at all in it! And not that much magnesium.
So I bought a supplement with calcium and magnesium but I'm wondering if I'm overdoing it...

@LondonGirl1992 so pleased that everything is ok!

@Nina7 I’m taking Naitre supplements, they’re pricey but I think they’re good. I took the pre natal ones when trying too. I’ve got ferrous sulfate on prescription to keep my iron levels up.

nh93 · 22/01/2024 23:26

Glad everyone's doing well and babies seem to be wriggling healthy! 🥰

I have a scan again on Thursday as they couldn't check the rest of the measurements so can't wait to see baby again 🥰

I'm taking pregnacare & i took calcium in my last pregnancy but midwife didn't mention anything this time.. now i'm thinking should i start taking some. don't want to do anything extra that's not needed.

Hi all! Thanks for the well wishes on our wedding, it went really well! I definitely overdid it on the dancing however and am sore as anything this week!

Does anyone else think they've had Braxton Hicks yet? I'm 24+1 with my first and feel some weird mild pains/tightenings in my lower bump area.

Clarkey34 · 18/01/2024 21:06

Has anyone not felt baby move yet? I'm 23+6 and still haven't felt anything.

Midwife said she isn't concerned as baby moved while listening to heartbeat earlier & she could see baby move, but I felt nothing.

I'm getting abit deflated by it all, I just want to feel baby 😢

Also how do you know what clothes to buy? Like do you buy short or long sleeves Sleepsuits/vests? Will they need summer clothes or just Vests for the first few months? Is there anything online I can be sent to for pointers. I don't want to buy unnecessary clothes.

From a over thinking first time mum 🙃🙂

Did you start to feel the baby movements @Clarkey34 ?

Clarkey34 · 25/01/2024 20:50

I thought I'd felt something Saturday but not felt anything else, so I think that was wishful thinking.

Midwife isn't concerned yet, she said to keep and eye on it & if I've not felt by 26 weeks, they will send me for monitoring, so baby needs to start kicking me 🤣 Midwife saw baby move last week, but I didn't feel anything, so thinking my placenta isn't helping things.

do you have an anterior placenta?

newbie12345678 · 26/01/2024 12:58

Is anyone else still getting cramps on and off? Not round ligament pain but like very dull light periody cramps? I've been checked by the midwives and they're not concerned right now, but I can't seem to find anything about it online at this stage in pregnancy. Thank you!

Yeah I've had them throughout and just put them down to things moving around, stretching etc. Can be a bit disconcerting though!

Clarkey34 · 26/01/2024 16:12

Yes, I've got an anterior placenta, it's rubbish!

SarahBowie · 26/01/2024 17:08

I’m still getting cramps every so often as well and again just putting it down to things moving about in there and uterus stretching. I’ve been getting really bothered with rib pain which seems to be linked to everything moving. I’m going to ask my midwife about it next week. Wondered if it was linked to pre eclampsia but that seems to say right hand side only, mine is only on the left and not constant.

Baby is super active now though and I’m getting really strong kicks at all times of the day which is nice 🥰

SarahBowie · 26/01/2024 17:13

Also, has anyone else gone in to mad cleaning and clear out mode? I’ve had a holiday today and spent most of the day giving the en-suite a deep clean. I’m also listing loads of things on vinted to have a clear out and get some extra funds for maternity. It’s not helpful that vinted is full of lovely baby clothes though so I’ve certainly been buying as well as selling 🙈

We’ve got a joiner coming soon to put nice big fitted wardrobes in baby’s room so we’ve got lots of storage space for our things and hers. I’ve been a bit short on cupboard space since my partner moved in the other year and can’t imagine what it’ll be like with another person in the house so really do need the room.

Holdmysunhat · 26/01/2024 19:44

Not massively feeling the need to clear out or tidy here! Hoping it’ll kick in soon!

Anyone else feeling sick still? I’m nearly 26 weeks and the nausea is still recurrent. Threw up 3 times last night and felt like I was back in the first trimester!

nh93 · 26/01/2024 22:27

I haven't been vomiting but god the nausea is still so bad. I can't brush my teeth at all!

i also gave this left rib pain it's like a burning pain only in the evenings, i think when i've eaten and the stomachs pushing up against my rib cage. hopefully subsides soon x

ClrDvs · 26/01/2024 23:02

@Holdmysunhat sorry you're feeling poorly. I had / have hyperemesis so I'm on anti sickness meds. Had some respite for about 6 weeks, but it seems to be coming back a bit again now. I was heaving on the train to work this morning - bit embarrassing!

Movement wise I've been really lucky, 22 weeks and he's wiggling around all over the place, partner can feel him and we've been watching my belly move about which is lovely 😍. Hope all those that haven't had much yet get to experience it soon, it's worth the wait xx

SarahBowie · 27/01/2024 10:21

@nh93 that’s exactly what my rib pain is like, also seems to flare up if I’ve done a bit too much physically.

I was the same as you with the teeth brushing, I bought a soft child’s toothbrush after reading something online and omg it’s made a world of difference! I can brush my teeth without gagging now. It’s maybe worth a try for you ☺️

newbie12345678 · 27/01/2024 12:48

I have the rib pain too! Also seems to flare up if I've done too much

Holdmysunhat · 27/01/2024 18:35

Oh lordy @ClrDvs you poor thing. I thought I might have hyperemesis but did a quiz on the HER Foundation website and don’t think it’s severe enough to qualify. I really really feel for all you poor women with HG. I find run of the morning sickness awful enough. Glad yours has eased a little and I hope we both feel much better soon!

I’m feeling huge gratitude that I work from home and don’t have an important frontline job like being a teacher or doctor. During my first pregnancy I commuted to central london every day but just wouldn’t be able to do it this time round.

junebuglb · 28/01/2024 20:51

Hope everyone is getting on ok and sorry to hear some are still struggling with sickness. I feel like I have the opposite problem at the moment and can’t stop eating! I’m quite looking forward to the next midwife appt in early Feb.

We ordered our pram today which felt like a good thing to tick off the list. Excited to get stuck into some nursery planning soon too. Exciting times x

Clarkey34 · 29/01/2024 06:58

What pram have you decided to go with @junebuglb?

We felt like a weight had been lifted once we'd got the travel system ordered. It is such a big expense!

What ideas has everyone got for the nursery? I think we are going for pink & sage theme, but without painting the room, just lots of accessories.

Oh my gosh, me! It started last Monday and I’ve thrown up every day since (multiple times). Had to leave work calls mid way through, stop the car to be sick and I have felt so unmotivated at work and so awful the whole time! But then I feel the baby kick and I do feel like it’s totally worth it, but I’m so ready to have a good day again!

We got a mamas and papas nursing chair and footstool on marketplace this weekend and I LOVE it. I’m trying to buy pretty much everything second hand (except the pram/car seat). I’m so excited now!

junebuglb · 29/01/2024 12:31

@Clarkey34 we went for the Mamas & Papas Flip XT2 (via Babycentre online - they have a fab January sale at the moment!) & a Maxi Cosi car seat as part of a bundle. Went and tried it out in store yesterday and it looked fab for us. x

junebuglb · 29/01/2024 12:33

@Clarkey34 and nursery wise I’m just living on Pinterest at the moment! We are leaning towards a sweet vintage theme ft Miffy, Snoopy etc and wooden furniture.

Have been eyeing up a wooden cot from Petit Amelie, not sure if anyone has heard good/bad things but I’m a fan!
