@PurpleSock my brother and sister in law had worries all through their pregnancy with their son as he was small. He is in 2nd percentile still but is a very happy healthy baby. Just a small guy.

I know it can be really scary but sometimes babies are just small. It’s good that they are keeping an eye on everything though.

PurpleSock · 03/01/2024 19:23

Thanks for the replies! I agree it's really worrying but I'm also thinking they'd maybe have asked us back sooner than 2 weeks if there were an immediate problem right?

Really do appreciate the responses though! It really is reassuring 😊

On a lighter topic has everyone else started buying yet? We were hoping to move house before Xmas so had been holding off on the bigger things but as we're still waiting I think we might need to bite the bullet and just start getting on with it!

Thwam · 03/01/2024 21:01

@PurpleSock glad you’re feeling a bit better. We have only just started buying. Did a big John Lewis order last week, which has started arriving - very exciting! Have managed to find some things on Vinted and Facebook marketplace too. Excited for the pram to arrive, but that won’t be for another few weeks.

Puddle13 · 03/01/2024 21:36

@PurpleSock when we had our 20 week scan, they found an issue with our baby’s left kidney. We had an appointment with the consultant for the Tuesday (our scan was on the Friday) so basically 2 working days later. We have another scan with the renal clinic on Monday as they wanted to follow up at 30 weeks. If it is something they were very concerned about, from my experience, they will get you an appointment quickly. But obviously I know every trust is different. Just been my experience.

On your lighter note, We got some things given to us, like a next to me crib, but we got the pram and the car seat in the Black Friday sale. We are moving in with my MIL when the baby is 6 months old as we are doing major building works to our house so haven’t bought a big crib or anything like that. I also made our baby a Moses basket which I crocheted myself. It looks pink in the picture but it’s actually just cream, we don’t know what sex our baby is.

@Puddle13 Your Moses basket is beautiful!! So talented.

Caroline88Cici · 03/01/2024 23:55

Oh wow that’s incredible. Might if I ask how you crocheted the moses basket?

Allaboard209 · 04/01/2024 06:49

@Puddle13 Amazing that looks so good!

glasspaw · 04/01/2024 07:04

This is gorgeous 😍 I bet it took ages!

glasspaw · 04/01/2024 07:04

^ that was meant to quote @Puddle13 🙃

Busylizzie85 · 04/01/2024 07:21

That's so clever @Puddle13 😍

We've bought a new buggy/pram from boots with discount recently, still need to buy a new next to me as my old one is in Ireland as my sister is using it.
We are re using DD's car seat as it's not that old just needs a jolly good wash and the new born insert put in. Thankfully we are having another girl so it's easy to reuse all the bits from before.

@Puddle13 that Moses basket is beautiful!

We don’t have much to buy as can reuse most of our daughter’s things. I have bought a few clothes in the sales though and will get a few bits on Vinted. I’m still undecided on whether to get a double pram though - for now I’m thinking I won’t as my daughter hates being in the pram anyway.

PurpleSock · 05/01/2024 09:08

Oh wow that moses basket is beautiful! That's so lovely you've made it yourself too!!

We ordered our travel system this week, have gone with the Cosatto Wow 2, I got a bit "review fatigued" looking at all the possibilities and everything blurred into one in the end so hoping this one will be OK 😂 what's everyone else got/getting?

Thwam · 05/01/2024 12:11

@PurpleSock weve gone for the maxi cosi pebble 360 pro. Oram wise we went for the uppa baby vista 2, which has literally just arrived!!!

Littlemiracles232504 · 05/01/2024 12:45

Thwam · 05/01/2024 15:55

@Littlemiracles232504 that sounds exhausting! Are they all excited?!

Littlemiracles232504 · 05/01/2024 16:03

@Thwam yeah they are, they turned 4 & 5 on Xmas day and the 23rd so there still more bothered about cars & Minecraft at the moment 😂😂
my little girl is 2 on the 4th march and she’s super exited, carries her dolls round and calls them sister baby 🥰

Thwam · 05/01/2024 16:22

This is very cute!!

We've been looking at that car seat as well, was watching over black friday as the pebble 360 and the pebble pro both got discounted but nothing on the pebble 360 Pro typically 🤦🏼‍♀️

Our travel system did come with a Cosatto seat but I'm wondering if irs worth having 2 seats anyway as one for each car - has anyone with older kids done this? Does it just end up being more of a faff?

Busylizzie85 · 06/01/2024 09:46

@PurpleSock we use different seats in each car so much easier than worrying about moving it over! We had a new one in the main car and one that was given to us nearly new in the other as it would be used less!

Silver cross do a seat that does from 0-12 that can be rear facing for quite a while. Considered buying that as a second seat for the other car
