@RG84 I can 100% relate to both the whale and the penguin! Yes it is getting a lot harder, by the end of the day I feel so uncomfortable I don’t know whether to sit, stand or lie down 🤣 but I think since alot of people warned (terrified 😬) me about this stage I am actually feeling quite well in myself.
Sounds lovely that your work have arranged a leaving lunch for you and means you won’t totally miss out on the festive Xmas party/meal (if you would usually go to one). I agree the trains sound like a nightmare at this stage but if you feel up to it I’m sure you won’t regret a chance to have a nice meal before you leave.
My work still expect me to be attending the Christmas meal on the 22nd December but tbh I don’t see a scenario where I’ll feel up to it 😳

VillageFete · 14/11/2023 12:12

Oh @Flowers90 Sending loads of love. Keep us updated. I hope things have settled and baby is doing well.

I’m 36 weeks now and oh my God, I’m so regretting leaving things last minute in terms of purchasing everything for baby, setting things up etc… I’m so, so tired and everything is an effort and I just feel crap.

To be fair, it wasn’t intentional, it’s just that life has been hectic with my older 2 children & other things have had to be priority- particularly my eldest who is 14. We’ve had a rough ride lately with her.

Just had a growth scan. Waiting on results. Looks like she has short legs like me, as femur length is 66mm at 36 weeks? My other 2 kids are more like my partner in height. I’ll ask the Consultant- I just panic over everything!

3 weeks tomorrow until C section. Really hope I manage to get organised AND have a little rest before then. I still need to sort a fair bit for Christmas.

Pitstop1986 · 14/11/2023 18:57

I'm 36+5 and have been eating dates and drinking raspberry leaf tea.

With my first pregnancy, I ate dates, drank the tea, did perineal massage.etc and my waters broke at 39+6 and I had a "beautiful labour" - so gushed all the midwives! This time, I'm doing everything the same and hoping for the same experience! Haha

It's been a completely different pregnancy though, so labour could come and bite me on the bum!

Charlielechat · 14/11/2023 19:29

Anyone else's baby measuring above 95th centile? Had a growth scan today after I measured big at midwife appointment. Baby's abdomen is 97th centile whilst everything else is below 5th. Have to go back for another growth scan but I'm feeling very worried now! Doctor didn't really give me any information.

Mushroo · 14/11/2023 20:43

@Charlielechat Im sure it’ll be fine. Large abdomen can indicate geststional diabetes so they might test you for that? When is your next scan?

Charlielechat · 14/11/2023 20:52

@Mushroo Yeah I have to get booked in for another GTT test - I already had one at 27 weeks. Next growth scan is in 2 weeks. He didn't mention the other things being under the 5th centile, just that baby's tummy was measuring big. I only noticed when I looked at the report afterwards and I also noticed the amniotic fluid measurements are really low too. So just worrying that it's something that should have been discussed.

Mushroo · 14/11/2023 21:02

@Charlielechat im sure he would have flagged anything sinister but I’d be the same as you and worrying over everything. hopefully the next growth scan will be a bit more reassuring

Nclktnntt · 14/11/2023 21:21

@Flowers90 really hope your little ones recovering well after her procedure and baby is settling following the meds they have you on! I hope you get to go home soon and rest up (as much as possible!).

@RG84 we're taking the instant formula with the teats - currently have 1 box of 6 but will get another. Brought a tub of powder this week too for when we're home.

Flowers90 · 14/11/2023 23:00

My daughters procedure went well today and we have managed to get her home with dad.
Sadly I'm Still here the goal keeps changing. Have now been told I can't go home until babys heart rate is normal most the time. Apparently that might not be achieved and I could be here until delivery. I literally can't stand the thought of upto 6 weeks here. I'd agree to come in for regular monitoring but given they aren't doing anything else don't see what difference it makes

wannabemum38 · 15/11/2023 12:00

@SMG1992 yes was NCT class. Got our last one tonight can't believe how time is going. On maternity leave now and just waiting for c section date. Still.got lots to do!
I'm so ready not to be pregnant now so uncomfortable and fed up how do people do this more than once!

Srs12 · 15/11/2023 12:03

I had a midwife appointment this morning and my notes say engagement:4/5. Does this mean 1/5 to go or 4/5 to go until fully engaged? I have googled but different websites are conflicting 🤔 just wondered if anyone knew the answer or is in the same position?

SMG1992 · 15/11/2023 12:46

@Srs12 I had this too and had a mild panic when I first saw the number but 5/5 is the least engaged and 0/5 the most engaged so you still have 4/5 to go.

@wannabemum38 I feel the same, I am SO very grateful to be able to carry & grow this baby and keep him healthy but I really can't wait to not be pregnant any more!

wannabemum38 · 15/11/2023 12:55

@SMG1992 yeah I'm same completely so grateful for my rainbow baby and will probably miss the kicks and bump once they are gone but being pregnant is hard!

Srs12 · 15/11/2023 13:50

@SMG1992 thankyou that makes sense 😊 I know it doesn’t mean much in terms of when labour is going to be anyway but just curious really

@VillageFete have you had the results from your growth scan? Hope everything is okay! I’ve had to have a scan after nearly every midwife appointment due to bump either measuring extremely large or extremely small and no inbetween 🙈 I have one again tomorrow but not too concerned as baby has measured fine throughout, midwife said she’s not seen the fundal height be so all over the place before 🤣

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/11/2023 14:08

I've been having on /off contractions for 2 weeks now. On Monday day night I woke up in agony and thought 'this is it' but nope stopped again. When I'm not having on / off contractions it's constant cramps on my back. I'm 38 weeks and fed up now. Come on baby!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 15/11/2023 14:41

@17caterpillars1mouse Sorry you’re going through that, must be frustrating.

I’m another one who is ready to be done with being pregnant. I don’t remember feeling quite like this with my first but maybe it’s something you forget, so you do it all over again in a few years. I remember thinking when I found out I was pregnant that I have to appreciate this time being pregnant as the plan is this is my last child. I’m trying to make a mental note not to feel nostalgic about what it’s really like pregnant.

clarebear111 · 15/11/2023 16:32

Is anyone else feeling quite sad all of a sudden, at 35+3? Not sure what's wrong with me and hoping I'll snap out of it.

Flowersandfloral · 15/11/2023 19:40

@clarebear111 I'm not generally an emotional person but I am finding things very difficult and overwhelming at the moment. Never had so many tears in my life. But we are strong, we got this 💪

smldnlove · 15/11/2023 21:22

@clarebear111 Me too! I’ve been fine all pregnancy and now I’ve hit 34 weeks I just feel quite low and anxious. Work is really busy and we’re renovating our house and I’m riddled with guilt for the baby that I’m not focused more on them. It is definitely the hormones and the enormity of having such a huge change coming for me 🥹

Moriquendi · 15/11/2023 21:25

@clarebear111 Yep! Been all over the place emotionally for the last two weeks. Sad about my toddlers life changing, worried about money, worried that the new baby will be a demon child and refuse to sleep ever…
Also, post-natal anxiety/ intrusive thoughts are appearing again. I had bad PNA last time and can feel it starting already this time 😢

VillageFete · 15/11/2023 22:01

@Srs12 Consultant wasn’t concerned. Apparently she’s hovering around 30th to 50th centile. I can’t really make head nor tail of it all. But she’s following her “curve” and I shouldn’t worry!

Oh this is hard. I can’t sleep. I’m so uncomfortable and physically aching. All the worry and doubts are creeping in about how i’ll manage and how life is about to be monumentally shaken.

Incredibly grateful and blessed, I know that, but God I could NEVER do this again!!

Pitstop1986 · 15/11/2023 23:28

I can't sleep, not because I'm uncomfortable, but I have insatiable hunger that wakes me up!

Has anyone else's appetite gone through the roof over the past few days? I had an increased hunger over the whole of my pregnancy, but this is a whole new level!

SMG1992 · 16/11/2023 08:13

For anyone who is due closer to Xmas apparently we can request at 39 weeks for a midwife to do a membrane sweep to see if it gets things going.
Obviously this is personal preference, but is something I was pleased to hear and will be asking for in an aim for the baby to arrive slightly early/ on time.

Beans1982 · 16/11/2023 09:45

@SMG1992 Ah that's good to know as I'm due 29 December. I have my first consultant appt tomorrow morning and not sure what to talk about/ask but I'll add the 39 week sweep to the list!

Also have a growth scan tomorrow because baby wasn't following the predicted growth line at my last scan a few weeks ago (he was just under the 50th centile line, previously just above). I've been told/read that growth scans are not accurate and not to worry when the doctors/midwives mention baby isn't growing as predicted, but it's in the back of my mind and a bit anxious about his growth progress. I definetly feel and look like my bump has grown in the last few weeks and feel like space is becoming an issue as I feel stretches and kicks much stronger these days!

I'm 34 Weeks tomorrow and barely slept last night due to crazy vivid dreams (more vivid than what I've experienced throughout pregnancy). Also thinking about work, possibly because it's my last day tomorrow.

Hope everyone is feeling okay today! xx

FirstMondayInMay · 16/11/2023 13:25

@Pitstop1986 god yeah! It’s not just eating for the sake of it either, I’m getting proper hunger pains and a rumbly tummy🤣

apparently they start putting on about half a pound a week from now so that’s probably why we’re so hungry!
