Oh @Flowers90 that must've been scary. You're in the best place now so fingers crossed everything is OK. Thinking of you and keep us posted xx

Nclktnntt · 12/11/2023 19:59

Oh @Flowers90 that must have been terrifying! So glad baby settled for you. Hope everything is all ok tomorrow too for you

@Flowers90 defo in the best place and good news things are being monitored.

I had a scan at 28 weeks and baby's tummy was measuring larger than they would like at that stage of pregnancy. I have a follow up scan tomorrow then a dr appointment straight after which is to plan for the birth I assume?

Has anyone else had this experience, if so what happened at your follow up scan/dr appointment?

smldnlove · 12/11/2023 21:05

Thinking of you @Flowers90 - let us know how you get on xx

Beans1982 · 12/11/2023 21:09

I hope you're feeling a bit better @Flowers90 and baby has settled down for you.

I spent a night in hospital at 29 weeks due to some light bleeding, not where you might want to be, but hospital is the right place to make sure you and baby are okay x

Thamantha · 12/11/2023 23:28

@Flowers90 I am glad that they caught it and that you are in the right place for care, but I am sorry that this is happening fir you. I hope there is some good news for you soon.

Flowers90 · 13/11/2023 00:58

Thank you all. As much as I know I'm in the right place, I'm feeling soo low about everything and desperately want to be at home where I feel like I'd get support from my husband. They did another ccg before bed again babys heart rate went upto over 240 bpm on mutiple occasions. They think he has svt. No one seems to be willing/able to answer any of my questions. I just keep getting told not to worry and the dr will review tomorrow

SMG1992 · 13/11/2023 08:39

Thinking of you @Flowers90
You are in the best place to be kept under review and will hopefully have more answers today.
I hope you managed to get plenty of rest

SMG1992 · 13/11/2023 08:42

Revelation of my weekend of NCT classes - alcohol only affects breastmilk when you are about 3 times over the drink drive limit!
I'll definitely be enjoying a couple of glasses of wine at Christmas!
Obviously as a disclaimer they said not to be even slightly drunk and in charge of a baby but there is no need to avoid alcohol all together :D

Flowersandfloral · 13/11/2023 09:04

@SMG1992 that is some amazing news for Christmas 😂 the red wine has been calling to me! Maybe it can be a large glass!

VeeAye · 13/11/2023 09:06

@chloesl1808 I've been having regular scans and consultant appointments after. For me it has been like you said to plan the birth and just give me an idea of what decisions might need to be taken closer to the time and what my options are. I have been fortunate in that my consultant is amazing and has highlighted how much is my decision which I appreciate. You might have to be prepared to fight for what you want if you have an un-sympathetic consultant.

Nclktnntt · 13/11/2023 11:49

@Flowers90 thinking of you! I hope the doctor comes early today (if not already) and answers all your questions for you. You're certainly in the right place for them to keep an eye on you and baby but I would be the same and want to be at home too. Hopefully they'll let you go home as soon as possible

I've got to.stay In for atleast 3 days for 3× hour long ccgs. They think baby has svt and are.trying to decide whether to just leave or start me on medication to control his heart rate

ThomasinaLivesHere · 13/11/2023 17:27

@Flowers90 that’s a shame you have to stay so long. I was in for a few days last time with induction. I hope you have things to try to distract you. I found listening to audio books and podcasts helpful.

Flowers90 · 13/11/2023 19:27

My 3 year old has a procedure tomorrow in the main hospital and I've been asking since I came in if I could leave the ward at 1130 to go and be with her and husband. They have now confirmed I can have day leave from the ward for this which is making me a bit happier. Also started me on cardiac meds this evening to treat baby as it should pass through the placenta and slow his rate down.

Charlielechat · 13/11/2023 23:25

What a difficult few days @Flowers90 Hope all goes well with your little one's procedure. And fingers crossed the medication will help the baby's heart rate!

@SMG1992 that is great to hear haha! Hopefully my baby comes before Christmas or NYE so I can have a few festive tipples! Though I do wonder if I'll even be in the mood for a drink in those early days 🥴

wannabemum38 · 14/11/2023 05:44

@SMG1992 we had breastfeeding class tonight and she said OK to drink however it takes up to 2 hours to leave system so should wait to breastfeed after having a tipple?!

SMG1992 · 14/11/2023 07:50

@wannabemum38 Interesting to hear different things. Was yours a NCT class?
I was mainly pleased to hear that it's something that can even cross my mind. I haven't missed drinking at all whilst pregnant but once the baby is born a glass of wine sounds like a nice way to relax!

Also for anyone who is 36+ weeks apparently if you start eating 6 dates a day it could lead to a shorter labour. There's a study on it, rather than it being an old wives' tale.

Mushroo · 14/11/2023 08:03

My class said that having a couple of drinks is absolutely fine. (Don’t get plastered obviously as you then wouldn’t be capable of looking after a baby!).

The amount of alcohol in your blood is small, and in your milk even smaller. About the same as a toddler drinking a glass of orange juice.

RG84 · 14/11/2023 09:33

Hope everyone is doing okay. 35 weeks yesterday! where is the time going!
Quick one, those of are formula feeding, how many pre-made bottles are you taking to the hospital?

Srs12 · 14/11/2023 10:13

Hiya everyone, hope everyone is well. Only just discovered this thread so tagging along if that’s okay! I’m 35+2 today and in my last full week at work so the countdown is on ☺️
@rg84 I have 2 boxes of the pre-made bottles for hospital which I believe is 12 bottles but will probably get some more for at home just incase we need them as I’m sure they won’t go to waste anyway.

RG84 · 14/11/2023 10:21

@Srs12 ah not far behind you at all, i'm 35+1. when is your due date? It's also my last week this week, really looking forward to a little time off.
Thanks for your feedback, I currently have 2 packs but going to get more then just in case and you're right, they won't go to waste anyway

Srs12 · 14/11/2023 10:29

@RG84 I’m due 17th, I’ve had a feeling since the start he’s going to come slightly early but probably just wishful thinking 🤣 and now it’s getting closer I’m looking forward to having some time to myself first anyway 😅
how are you feeling at the moment?

RG84 · 14/11/2023 10:46

@Srs12 oh gosh keep forgetting my original due date was the 18th Dec however I have a c-section booked for the 4th December. exactly at 38 weeks. I'm feeling like a whale and walking like a penguin, it's getting harder each day and the braxton hicks, oh wow...overall it's getting harder lol..I have a combined leaving/xmas lunch this Thursday in London and i'm not looking forward to the trains/tubes. Getting so paranoid as I am so close. literally less than 3 weeks left. is it even a good idea??
How are you feeling? Doing okay?
