@FirstMondayInMay so they gain half a pound and we gain half a stone per week from all of the extra calories!?!

NoodleQueen90 · 16/11/2023 14:21

Hey ladies, I haven't been on in ages and have missed loads of messages so I hope you are all keeping well!
Just thought I'd pop by with my BA 😁
I had a healthy baby boy on Tuesday 14th November. Wasn't due until 13th December so it was a bit of a shock when my waters broke on Sunday 😳 then looked like nothing was happening and I would be sent home on antibiotics to try and wait until 37 weeks then all of a sudden in the wee hours of Tuesday I went from no signs to 10cm in the space of an hour and a half and 3.5hrs later he was here!! Totally in love 😍
We are staying in hospital just now and he has a touch of jaundice but hoping to be home soon as we are both otherwise well.

SMG1992 · 16/11/2023 14:32

Wow! Amazing news @NoodleQueen90 - that all sounds very quick!
Glad to hear you are both well and the jaundice is sorted soon.

14th Dec is my due date so I think I need to do the last few bits around the house this weekend (just in case) as it's really creeping up!

Nclktnntt · 16/11/2023 15:40

Oh @NoodleQueen90 that's amazing news! So glad you're both well and that's sounds like an amazingly quick labour, well done you! I hope mines that quick when the time comes. How many weeks were you then?

These early babies are making me nervous 😂 i am not ready yet! Still things to buy - baby bottles and sterilisers most importantly! I'll get on that this week just in case.

Just checked my diary and I have 4 more weeks left of work - that feels so short!

How many weeks are you @Pitstop1986? I went to bed last night feeling hungry but ignored it as I'd not long eaten my dinner (like an hour earlier) that I'd struggled to finish, and eating then lying down makes me feel sick, and I can feel my food not going down, so I drank some water and went to sleep 😂 I'm guessing you're meaning hungrier than being able to ignore it though? I'm 34 weeks now and I hope I don't start waking to eat because I hate eating in the night, it feels wrong after about 10pm, that's my cut off. You know how people eat after a night out - I never could, found it really strange that people did lol I'd order food then leave it or someone else would eat it.

Oh I also got called heavily pregnant today - their words were 'well I can see your heavily pregnant' to which I was a little taken aback as I don't feel heavily pregnant, but I guess I am now 😂 my next client told me I have a neat little bump. I looked in the mirror and it's not all that small anymore. Made me laugh because I really don't feel like I'm pregnant enough to only have 6 weeks left to my due date 🤯 although - they're getting heavy now lol

Midwife check up yesterday and baby is now closer to the higher line on the graph thing so maybe 80th centile ish? She never said anything, I think they measured wrong though (there was 2 of them) one seemed too high up my stomach and the other seemed too low on the pelvic bone so I'm taking them with a pinch of salt and see where they are in two weeks time.

Did my birth plan yesterday too so feel that's one less thing to worry about now. Also need to pack my hospital bag - first need to buy everything for my bag.

@NoodleQueen90 amazing news, congratulations! Did they leave you a while from getting to 10cm before you started to push? Hopefully little ones jaundice clears up soon and you’re able to get home for some rest!

I’ve just done the last of baby’s washing and put the last couple of bits into my hospital bags so it’s now just a waiting game😬 4 weeks until due date!

Charlielechat · 16/11/2023 16:33

Congratulations @NoodleQueen90 That's lovely news to hear! Glad you're both doing well!

I also agree these early baby stories are making me nervous 😂 I have most things bought but still don't feel prepared!! Although I can see the perks of being taken by surprise instead of sitting around waiting for it to happen and overthinking everything!

Beans1982 · 16/11/2023 17:16

Huge congratulations to you @NoodleQueen90 glad your little one arrived safely and hope he'll get the okay to come home very soon! 😊

I'd better get a shift on with buying the remaining bits just incase my baby decides to make an early appearance!!

Pitstop1986 · 16/11/2023 18:35

@Nclktnntt I'm 37 weeks. I've had a really low bump the whole of this pregnancy, baby is curled in a ball with their feet by their face and seems to be at every scan, so I never get that full feeling after a meal. I had to get up twice in the night to eat last night, at first I just had a couple of biscuits, but went back to bed and couldn't get back to sleep as was still hungry, so got up again and made a huge bowl of porridge.

I'm hoping that it's my body carb loading for labour and it won't be too much longer for me to wait! Getting uncomfortable now and would just like baby out!

VillageFete · 16/11/2023 19:42

@NoodleQueen90 Huge congratulations!! I hope the both of you are doing well. What a surprise!!

Do we have a plan for a night feeds support group once we’ve all had the babies? 🤣

ThomasinaLivesHere · 16/11/2023 19:47

@NoodleQueen90 Congratulations! Hope you’re all doing well. Must have been a shock. The idea of giving birth early doesn’t seem like it could happen to me but I guess you never know. Probably should pack my hospital bag soon, as well as a million other things I want to get ready.

FirstMondayInMay · 16/11/2023 19:52

Has everybody settled on a name for baby now? I’m really struggling, I like a few but don’t think I like them enough to be saying it for the rest of my life! I’m considering waiting until he’s here before making a decision

RG84 · 16/11/2023 19:59

@NoodleQueen90 congratulations on your little bub. Hope you are both doing well.

I agree, these early babies are really really making me nervous. Especially when I haven't fully prepared. It's my last day at work tomorrow, then annual leave for 2 weeks and then section on 4th December. I hope and pray baby holds off until the 4th December as I don't want any surprises before then 😭

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/11/2023 01:58

Currently in hospital after my waters broke a few hours ago, they were tinged pink and I'm consultant led so just waiting for a space on delivery suite. (I'm 38 weeks) Dh had to go home but contractions are stepping up a bit so definitely can't sleep. Feeling very alone atm

Nclktnntt · 17/11/2023 04:45

@17caterpillars1mouse I'm so sorry you're feeling that way, why did they send him home? I hope you've managed to get a bit of rest.

@17caterpillars1mouse Hope you’re doing ok and you see your husband soon.

SMG1992 · 17/11/2023 08:04

@17caterpillars1mouse I hope you are doing ok this morning and your husband is back with you!

This group seems to be really ramping up in terms of babies being born now!
Very exciting!!
I'm going to sort my last few bits out this weekend so I can just relax for the next few weeks and if he comes early we should be fine.
Everyone will be fine any way - you can get pretty much anything next day delivery with Amazon!

Pitstop1986 · 17/11/2023 08:04

@17caterpillars1mouse I hope that you managed to get some sleep and that your labour goes well. Good luck!

You'll be meeting your baby really soon! How exciting!

smldnlove · 17/11/2023 09:31

Congratulations on all the babies and labours coming in! Feels like it’s all happening now. Everyone currently in the hospital now, wishing you all happy and healthy bubas on the way ❤️

FirstMondayInMay · 17/11/2023 10:17

@17caterpillars1mouse best of luck for your delivery! Hopefully you’re not waiting too long for a bed on delivery suite and your husband can be back with you!

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/11/2023 10:21

Baby boy was born at 4:15am weighing 7lb 4oz so a good size for 38+2 weeks. He's just having his newborn checks then we are off home. Yay! Thanks for all the well wishes

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/11/2023 10:22

The 3 hour labor was definitely intense

SMG1992 · 17/11/2023 10:43

Fantastic news @17caterpillars1mouse Very pleased for you!

Srs12 · 17/11/2023 11:01

Congratulations @17caterpillars1mouse! 🎉
Hope you and baby are both well 😊

Has anyone else been getting mild period like pains on and off? I’m only 35+5 so not quite expecting baby yet but with all these early arrivals I am overthinking every twinge 😅
I assume the pains are just baby getting ready as midwife said he has started to engage.

Mushroo · 17/11/2023 14:14

@17caterpillars1mouse amazing news! Huge congratulations!
