I also have terrible heartburn - that’s my main complaint atm. @Charlielechat ill give the milk a go, good tip!

Going baby shopping tonight (boots double discount) so hoping I’ll feel more prepared after that.

SMG1992 · 04/10/2023 08:00

I'm never without a pack of Gaviscon handy at the moment, although the taste of them is starting to make me wretch so I might need to try some of the above options.
I'm finding my bladder is fine when I'm sat down but as soon as I stand up it's like everything shifts onto my bladder and I'm suddenly desperate for the loo!

Undercoverunicorn · 04/10/2023 08:04

@Beans1982 and everyone else suffering from heartburn, I'm on omazeprole as prescribed by the Dr. Makes a massive difference whereas gaviscon wasn't touching the sides.

C section booked for 23rd Nov!

Also struggling with getting up etc. And breathiny difficult. Slip on shoes all the way for me. Pelvic pain pretty bad but better than with dd1 when I was on crutches so thankful for that.

Next growth scan for me on Mon. So whilst not 3/4d I will at least get to see baby again 😁

ThomasinaLivesHere · 04/10/2023 10:14

@RG84 I think for regular elected c-sections there’s no guarantee that it’ll be done that day as they prioritise emergencies so it’s possible it’ll get pushed back and then depending on time might be moved to the next day. I’m not sure of percentages and likelihood but it can happen.

I’m jealous of everyone with their c sections dates. I’d like to know mine but it’s not been set yet and not sure when. One of the questions I must remember to ask midwife next week.

RG84 · 04/10/2023 11:51

@jadey1991 @ThomasinaLivesHere Thanks for advising. My date of the 4th December is at exactly 38weeks. The letter they sent me (on the app) mentions its booked for the 4th Dec but should there be an emergencies then they will priortise others. Due to having type 2 diabetes, the baby is currently bigger than what it should be so they have also suggested a c-section so i'm not sure where I fit in on the priority scale.
I have a growth scan on the 27th October and 24th November so I guess that will also determine whether they need to preform earlier than the 4th Dec.
Happy I have a date though so I can start preparing.

FirstMondayInMay · 04/10/2023 12:10

30 weeks today for me! Crazy to think that some of us are in single figures until baby arrives and the rest of us will be really soon🤗

RG84 · 04/10/2023 12:20

Does everyone have names ready yet? I think we have a name now just needs to sit with us for a while.. it's always been there but I also found boys names harder than girls. With my daughter we had the name ready before we even knew it was a girl!

jadey1991 · 04/10/2023 12:50

@RG84 yeah maybe they might change it(your consultant) depending on growth scan.
I have my 2 growth scans 19th Oct and 16th Nov. Then my last consultant appointment on 20th Nov then c section on 29th Nov.

My babies car seat arrived today. I got so happy. Going to get my double buggy in a couple weeks. Getting so real now.

We have 2 names in mind. Just gotta wait till she is here now to decide which one lol

17caterpillars1mouse · 04/10/2023 13:05

Had my 32 week growth scan this morning, baby is measuring spot on at approx 4lb 5oz. He has been head down for the last two midwife appointments and was partly engaged at my midwife appointment 2 weeks ago but is now transverse again and right under my ribs.

My blood pressure was high today and there is protein in my urine so I'm at the assessment unit on Sunday for a recheck. Hoping it'll be fine.

We have his name sorted, though a back up choice just in case. I keep having a wobble though as I love the name but not a huge fan of the common shortening. We are between 2 names for his first middle name but his second middle name has been set for weeks (both dds have two so felt he needed two aswell). Boys names are hard. I could name another 10 girls lol

SMG1992 · 04/10/2023 13:09

We have a name that I'm fairly sure we're going to stick with but aren't telling people yet just in case!
I need to get a new car which is getting expensive! I currently have a 2 door mini so can't keep that but if I'm going to get a new one I want it to be a nice, long term car so am looking at £15/16k which is a hell of a lot to fork out right now!

jadey1991 · 04/10/2023 14:01

Aww bless what a lovely weight @17caterpillars1mouse. I have my next growth scan on 19th of this month. When's your due date?

Nclktnntt · 04/10/2023 14:11

28 weeks today for me! I feel like bump has had a growth spurt over the past couple weeks because I keep bumping into things! Had the 28 week check up today and all on track. Thankfully no GD check for me (yet anyway) because that sounds not so fun.

I had fun putting my tights on yesterday and today because bump gets in the way now. Baby is moving a lot more too, they were having a rave this morning when I woke up 😂 my hips were playing up last night in bed but seemed better by the morning and have been ok so far today.

Hope you're all feeling well, i am excited to meet bump but not so excited for the part of how they get here just now. We're going to start looking into all the baby furniture, prams, travel sets and everything now we're back from our holidays. Busy couple months for us lot 😊

@Nclktnntt 28 weeks for me today too! Time is going by so fast!

17caterpillars1mouse · 04/10/2023 14:52

@jadey1991 due 29th November but since both dds came at 38 weeks I'm working towards a deadline of mid November.

@SMG1992 I feel your car shopping pain. We bought a new (to us) car two weeks ago as we needed one to fit all 3 carseats in. It does feel alot when having to purchase baby things too. I've been working down a list as we gave most of our baby things away a few weeks ago. Exciting getting packages every day though. Plus trying to organise Xmas before my due date and dd2s boxing day birthday. Money, money, money!

17caterpillars1mouse · 04/10/2023 14:54

A few years ago even not weeks, that would be silly

ThomasinaLivesHere · 04/10/2023 15:05

Since baby is due around Christmas I’ve been trying to get things ready. I’ve already bought most presents. So it’s exciting to get all the deliveries. I’m amazed though that the Christmas board on here is already so active!

On names I also agree it’s easier to name a girl. It’s a shame I won’t get the opportunity to do so as I really loved some of the girl names I had. We sort of have a name chosen although my husband is more keen on it than me.

Nclktnntt · 04/10/2023 15:14

We've briefly looked at names and definitely finding girl names easier too!

We also would like a new car - we've been down to 1 car for a over a year now but husband works from home so not a necessity although would be easier at times, but then my cars engine light came on just before going away so it's booked in next week to be checked over - it's only a 3 door though and ideally we would like a 5 door with the arrival of baby, so we planned on getting /looking into getting a new car before mine decided to light up - fingers crossed it's nothing big to get fixed 🤞

@17caterpillars1mouse aww ur due date is my c section date.. how lovely..

jadey1991 · 04/10/2023 17:33

@17caterpillars1mouse also forgot to add that's why I'm having v section that day too as all my 3 children have come 38 weeks and this time round I wanted c section because of my previous delivery work my son

Beans1982 · 04/10/2023 17:53

Thanks everyone for the advice on what to try for heartburn - definetly will give cold milk and icy drinks a go!

I'm similar to you @ThomasinaLivesHere we're kind of set on a first name but my husband is more keen on it than I am. Also trying to give our baby a Welsh name that's easy to say because half the family are Lithuanian and Russian speaking.

We're yet to purchase any of the big items so we need to get ourselves sorted at least with a car seat and pram. Received a box full of newborn clothes and teethers from my MIL last week so just having those in the house is making things feel very real now.

Nclktnntt · 08/10/2023 09:44

Hey everyone,

How are we all? We've been a little quiet in here this week and I just wanted to check we're all ok 😊

I'm 28 weeks now, baby is moving so much at some points of the day, last night it felt so weird and kinda tickled (was both sides but right on the sides especially against the bed) and was making me laugh 😂

Hope we're all doing well

We’ve just started NCT classes this week, finding them really useful especially in terms of knowing options and how to ask the right questions as otherwise it sounds like you can be directed a certain route when there are other options available. We have 8 couples in our class and 3 have been told they should be induced which was surprising. I was a bit unsure of what to expect from the classes but so far so good.

Sciatica is driving me mad at the back of my left leg, I thought it was bearable until I went to the office on Friday and by the end of the day my legs had seized up and it was very achy. Going to try some of the recommended exercises and sit on my yoga ball more as that seems to work wonders. Anyone else had this pregnancy joy?

Finally ordered the pram as it just came back into stock so feeling a lot better about that. Is anyone going to the baby show in London in a few weeks?

What baby monitors have you all gone with? I tried to do some research but I got rather lost as I was trying to find one that also alerted you if there hadn’t been enough movements etc, I don’t know if that’s called something else but I’ve heard about them and it sounded really reassuring especially when it comes to things like cot death etc.

Nclktnntt · 08/10/2023 12:52

Hey @Vsah22 what pram did you go with in the end? A travel system type one or have gone all separate?

My hips (sciatic joints) are terrible, I have a standing job where I have to lean ever so slightly forward all the time, and finding as the day goes on they get worse and by the time I'm home sciatica is in full blown anger mode and by bed time I can't walk - I limp everywhere. The other day o felt like I needed a zimmer frame. I've found yoga (prenatal yoga) and sitting cross legged or feet together knees open with a straight back helps a lot and by morning I'm reset ready to start again the next day 😂 I'm lessoning my hours but working more days in November to try helping too.

I need to speak with the midwife though I think to maybe get physio, I think my hips are out of alignment and I know which side baby is preferring for that day because that's the side that starts with the pain first. My hips / lower back wasn't great Pre pregnancy though due to a couple historic car accidents and the docs not believing me when I said I couldn't lift my leg properly - they thought I was putting it on for the claim.

I need to get a yoga ball - keep forgetting - that would probably be amazing for when I'm home - I might get one for the salon to use as my cutting stool 😂😂

I did even think about the baby show. We won't be going to that one but I wonder when the birmingham one is - does anyone know?

Hi ladies, hope you are doing well.
Can't believe I am 30 weeks tomorrow! Where is the time going!
I would like to get my hospitals bag ready in the next few weeks. C-section mama's, do you have a list of things to take for the day? Anything you could share would be great.
