@Charlielechat I kept having hot flushes and feeling dizzy whilst I was waiting between blood tests and needed a 3 hour nap when I got home because it completely drained me

Definitely get in touch with the hospital or community midwives, ask for your bloods taken to see if there’s anything underlying going on

Charlielechat · 02/10/2023 12:51

@FirstMondayInMay @Flower35214 Yeah I was surprised about the no water rule too - not good for pregnant women! They took my 28 week bloods at the same time and they were all normal too thankfully.

Emergency obstetrics advised I ring GP...GP thinks it was migraine with aura but advised me to get back of eye checked just in case, so I'm booked in tomorrow at opticians to do that. I'd say it could well have been a migraine after being so dehydrated!

SMG1992 · 02/10/2023 13:30

I hope everyone is getting on well.
I have my 3d scan this evening which I'm super excited for.
I went and got a couple of moles checked last week and am being referred as the dermatologist was concerned they looked like they could be melanomas. I'm getting really worried now, I want to get that appointment through and get this all out of the way - lots of worst case scenarios are spinning around my mind right now :(

Charlielechat · 02/10/2023 14:15

@SMG1992 good luck with your scan, will be lovely to see your baby at this stage! I've had suspicious moles surgically removed before that I was convinced would be cancerous as they grew so much, but they were all fine. They probably just have to be safe than sorry, but I'm sure you'll be ok! You could be waiting a while to have them removed anyway so maybe it will be after the baby arrives before you're seen!

SMG1992 · 02/10/2023 14:56

@Charlielechat Thanks :)
Trying to focus on the excitement of the scan rather than things that are out of my control.
Thanks for sharing your positive story too, hopefully mine will be the same

jadey1991 · 03/10/2023 12:16

Hi ladies,
Thought I'll mark my spot on here. I'm 30 weeks today. Got my c section booked for 29th November

Mushroo · 03/10/2023 12:23

A busy couple of days for me! I had a scan yesterday following on from reduced movements over the weekend. It all went really well - she already has hair and is measuring slightly above average at 70th percentile. Was nice to see her anyway.

Then was back for my diabetes test this morning. The drink was gross but just hoping all comes back ok!

SMG1992 · 03/10/2023 13:39

@Mushroo Wow did you see her hair on a 3d scan? that's amazing!
I had a 3d scan yesterday, mine is definitely bald and has his father's nose :) Was so sweet to see him though (although they are a bit freaky).
Best of luck for your GD test results

SMG1992 · 03/10/2023 13:40

Also welcome @jadey1991 I hope you are well and enjoying your pregnancy?

jadey1991 · 03/10/2023 13:43

@SSMG1992 hey, thanks. This pregnancy is vvv tiring... all the joys but very excited to meet my lil princess

Mushroo · 03/10/2023 13:57

@SMG1992 it was just 2D so I think she must have loads 😂! The sonographer was really good.

Also welcome @jadey1991 :)

wannabemum38 · 03/10/2023 14:07

I had a 4d scan at weekend our little one has hair already too. Old wives tale says heartburn is a sign maybe some truth I've had terrible heartburn last couple of weeks. Took us ages to get a photo though they were asleep with hand up to their face!
Had my GTT test over a week ago now not heard anything so crossing fingers it was negative.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 03/10/2023 16:31

My son had a full head of dark hair when born although it’s lightened up a lot. I’m curious if this one will be the same. It’s crazy how quick time is going in.

Welcome to everyone new 😊

RG84 · 03/10/2023 18:58

@jadey1991 welcome and hope you are doing well.
I actually got my c-section date today and its the 4th Dec. The preassesment appointment is booked for the 30th Nov. What is the likelihood that they will preform on the actual day? Is your date 100% confirmed?

smldnlove · 03/10/2023 20:00

@wannabemum38 How lovely and can’t believe you saw the hair too!!! Still debating whether to do the 4d, do you recommend it? It’s £150 for us locally and OH isn’t overly bothered as we have regular growth scans but I’m really wanting to book!

Itonlytakesaminute · 03/10/2023 20:14

Has anyone else had the 'direct kick in the bladder' and rush to the loo before they wet themselves?! My bladder is a mess I feel

wannabemum38 · 03/10/2023 20:34

@smldnlove Well we got it on offer so was £90 and we got 4 prints and they have sent us all images to download. This will be our only baby so we decided we would have this as won't be doing it again. I think it's personal choice but if you have the spare cash I'd say go for it you can't get the time back x

Yessssssss it happened everyday... like 1000 times a day.

Hey, I'm doing okayish Thanks.. I hope you're well. My preassessment date is 20th Nov. My date is 100% confirmed, but as you know, anything can happen.. Tbh I'm not 100% sure how accurate it is, but I have to have my c section at 38 weeks. This is my 1st c section. All my other 3 have been normal

smldnlove · 03/10/2023 21:16

@wannabemum38 Thats helpful thanks! Yeah I think we will I’m too excited not to! X

Charlielechat · 03/10/2023 22:17

Lovely to hear about the 3D/4D scans 🥰 Starting to get a bit of FOMO now and thinking I'd love to see my baby again lol!

@Itonlytakesaminute Yes!! Baby really pushes on my bladder alot making me think I have to pee, and then they change position and I'm fine again. But more recently have been getting sharp kicks which I'm guessing is lightning crotch!

Beans1982 · 03/10/2023 22:52

@Charlielechat Lol, I'm with you on the FOMO with everyone talking about 3D/4D scans and I just had to look up my local service and I'm now v.tempted to book in for a 4D scan! 😆

Getting excited now about the arrival of all our little ones! They'll be here before we know it 😍

I've got my GD test on Friday - not looking forward to it. I hope everyone else who's had it recently gets a good result.

Noticed that my bump has grown in the last week and started to struggle with getting up off the sofa and in/out of the car. Heartburn is my number one symptom and I live on Gaviscon 😫Literally everything I eat or drink gives me a horrible burning sensation in my throat...Has anyone found an alternative that works to calm their heartburn apart from taking Gaviscon??

Charlielechat · 03/10/2023 23:39

@Beans1982 I've really suffered with heartburn for the last few weeks. I was taking Gaviscon several times a day but have actually found taking a small glass of milk really helps when I feel it coming on. I haven't needed the Gaviscon as much now!

wannabemum38 · 03/10/2023 23:40

@Beans1982 I struggle to get up, get in a car, tie my shoelaces, put socks on lol all an effort now
Heartburn is also my enemy especially at night and after food. However someone on our WhatsApp group said ice was good and I had an iced drink tonight after nandos and it worked a treat. So I'm going to make up some ice cubes to have iced water after food I think. Also Rennie's spearmint ones help.

NoodleQueen90 · 04/10/2023 05:55

@Beans1982 I've found the orange rennies help my heartburn as well...I'm not a big fan of the taste of gaviscon but the rennies are a bit easier to take...more like sweets. Speaking of, love hearts and refreshers also help ease it slightly 😁 I'd say love hearts work better than refreshers for me.
