I'm exhausted too. Sleeping from 930 but awake again from midnight. My late-early shift pattern us exhausting Me further. I also have hip and back pain.

VillageFete · 22/09/2023 23:34

@Oldermum84 Thank you, I’ve cracked it now but my bloody fingers are hurting 🤣 I’m confused though as so far my readings are all well within range. It’s my daughter’s Bday and I had one of her Milky bar stuffed cookies from a cake maker- very big and very indulgent and my reading was only 5.8 an hour later. Everything i’ve tried food wise - good and bad, has been tolerated. I know this may change though.

Another one in the tired camp. Energy has completely plummeted. Everything is an effort. Still so much to do before baby arrives and I feel like it’s all too difficult!

smldnlove · 24/09/2023 17:43

Another member of the tired camp. Finding sleep difficult and uncomfortable, and feel like never enough time to rest. We are moving house in a week and a half to a house that needs renovating and I’m just…regretting everything 😩😂

Charlielechat · 24/09/2023 19:32

@smldnlove oh that sounds very stressful! Hope you get sorted with everything. And just start with the basics!

I strangely don't feel overly tired or anything, but feeling extremely irritable! I have heartburn/indigestion, clothes feel uncomfortable and lots of things are annoying me that wouldn't normally! Anyone else feeling that way?

Vsah22 · 24/09/2023 22:54

I’m okay too on the energy front although I’m only just coming up to 28 weeks so might be a few weeks behind some people and have that joy to come.

I’ve definitely in the bad heartburn camp and also some weird things like my wrists clicking and my fingers ceasing up a bit, apparently it’s down to hormones and swelling. The annoying one though is I’m getting uncomfortable sitting in one position for a period of time so I have to keep moving to feel comfortable. No idea what’s causing that but I’ve got an inflatable ball that’s just come that I’m going to try and use and see if that helps. Anyone else had that issue?

Mushroo · 25/09/2023 08:18

@Charlielechat @Vsah22 I’m also still generally feeling ok tiredness wise. I’m only 26 weeks though and I’ve gotten a lot bigger this week so suspect the aching and tiredness will come.

My major annoyance is still bleeding gums, it’s a gross way to start and end the day.

Im really enjoying my pregnancy ball (I know sit on it to work) and it’s a lot comfier than a desk chair.

VillageFete · 25/09/2023 12:06

My tiredness literally hit me overnight once I got to about 27+5.

I’m taking a Solgar gentle iron tablet per day - It’s the Bisglycinate version and doesn’t cause tummy issues, but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. I’m bloody shattered!

Had my 28 week bloods done last week- it’s just a full blood count, so wondering if that might flag a touch of anaemia up?

I think it’s the sleep issue. I’m a stomach sleeper and obviously I can’t do that now. I’m waking up multiple times per night for a wee, and i’m numb and in pain from the side sleeping. I just don’t feel well rested.

Trying to sort my maternity allowance form today. I’m self employed but also do some casual freelance employment (Don’t earn enough for SMP) And bloody hell it’s complicated. Was on hold for 40 mins to maternity allowance, who told me my class 2 NI isn’t up to date - I’m guessing this is because i’ve not done my tax return yet? So therefore haven’t paid this current tax year’s NI? Either way, Maternity Allowance told me to call HMRC and I’m currently on hold to them for what seems like an eternity 🙄

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/09/2023 14:54

Is pregnancy clumsiness a thing?! I'm constantly dropping everything, burnt myself on the iron last week, had a few trips but thankfully not hurt and now I've sliced my finger open! I feel a liability

joyjoy23 · 25/09/2023 15:13

Hey everyone, sorry to hear about people experiencing tiredness. I felt so full of energy throughout the second trimester but must confess that this is starting to wear off a bit now at 29 weeks. Changing weather probably also adds to it!

Has anyone on here been prescribed progesterone pessaries? I have been on them since last week as a private cervix assessment showed that the length of my cervix was shorter than what it should be at this stage. :( So the obstetrician at my NHS hospital prescribed cyclogest twice daily. It's giving me so much discomfort and level of anxiety is trough the roof.

VillageFete · 25/09/2023 15:55

@joyjoy23 Me! I’m on Cyclogest pessaries for the same reason. Hate them, but they worked. My cervix lengthened. I know they are unpleasant but they’ll very, very likely get the job done for you and allow you to carry to term.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 25/09/2023 16:58

@smldnlove Hope your move goes well. Try not to stress and like another poster said just concentrate on the basics. You can just do a little at a time once the basics are done.

I found sleep hard last night. I was over tired but just couldn’t seem to get to sleep. I’ve started to get backache which is painful some time. I will bring it up to my midwife when I see her next. Generally though I’ve been ok but I do think it will get harder. I really need to get the baby’s room ready soon as I think it’ll be harder if I delay it.

joyjoy23 · 25/09/2023 21:44

Thanks @VillageFete, that's reassuring. Hope all going well at your end. How many weeks are you?

Charlielechat · 25/09/2023 21:46

@Mushroo yeah I'm only turning 27 weeks on Wednesday too so I think there is worse to come 🙈

On the plus side I'm really enjoying feeling baby's movements atm. They've started pushing /rubbing right up against my hand on the bump and I love guessing what part of their body it is! Makes it easier to imagine them as a little person 🥰

VillageFete · 25/09/2023 22:56

@joyjoy23 29 weeks tomorrow! I actually know a few ladies who’ve been put on Cyclogest in pregnancy, you’re in good company! Side effects can be a bit crap though, can’t they

Lillybobs86 · 25/09/2023 23:36

I've been Cyclogest for last 16 weeks due shortening cervix in my previous pregnancy.
It has done its job so it does work not sure of your current length but hopefully helps with your situation x

SMG1992 · 26/09/2023 13:04

Hi All,
I hope everyone is getting on well!
I had my 28 week midwife appointment (I'm 28+ 5) and they did my first measurement. I'm currently measuring over the 95th centile!!
They felt my stomach and said it feels more like baby than fluid so will see how the next couple of measurements compare... I think he's going to be a big baby!!

NoodleQueen90 · 26/09/2023 14:37

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in a while but hope you're all well 😊
I had my first measurement last week at 27+5 @SMG1992 and was also measuring >95th centile 😳most babies in my family and OHs family were 8lb something so I wasn't expecting a tiny baby but hoping it tapers off a bit!
I'm starting to feel a tiny bit more organised now, only have a few essentials to order. The nursery still needs plastered and painted though which is stressing me out!! I've been hounding OH to get it sorted this week 😂baby won't be in there for a while so I'm not fussed about it being totally finished but it needs to be at least plastered and painted before they arrive! Planning to just paint white/cream and add wall stickers once they are here and I know whether it's a boy/girl. Also keeping the same furniture that is already in the room and bought the shnuggle next to me crib that converts in to a full cot so that's all sorted!
I'm now 28+6 and have been feeling uncomfortable for at least 3-4 weeks! The midwife sort of laughed it off and said it's only going to get worse but I'm honestly surprised! My ribs are agony, hip pain wakes me up about 5 times a night and fingers are swollen and feel arthritic! I honestly would not have guessed it would be this uncomfortable with so long still to go. Hope you are all faring better!

VillageFete · 26/09/2023 15:22

Has everyone had their 28 week bloods done?

I had mine last week. I’m SHATTERED. I saw my Diabetic Consultant this morning (Pointless. My readings are all well within range. I wish they’d have let me stay with my original Consultant)

Anyway, I asked him what my results of my full blood count were because i’m really exhausted. He said “You’re a little anaemic but nothing to get excited about. They won’t need to treat it”

Erm, that’s ok for him to say but I’m struggling to function! Something needs doing!

My Midwife can’t access my bloods as they’re taken at the hospital and my hospital is just outside of my City so they don’t communicate.

I’m seeing my Midwife tomorrow- Do you think I can ask for her a blood test?

Daveismyhero · 26/09/2023 15:33

@VillageFete
I'm exactly the same! I've got a low red blood cell count and low iron but they said not low enough. Problem is I can't walk anywhere without going dizzy and I fainted 3 times in 4 days

wannabemum38 · 26/09/2023 15:42

I had cyclogest in first trimester took them for 5 weeks as had bleeding at 10 weeks. I wish I could say they were okay but I had a lot of issues regardless of where I stuck them lol so gave up at 5 wks instead of doing the 6 weeks but if they kept my little bean in there it was worth it.
I will be 30 wks on Friday I can't believe it! Where has the time gone?! I had my 28 wks bloods and diabetes test on Friday. My bloods came back satisfactory no further action however my HB was at lowest end of the spectrum at 115 but I read that its very normal for it to lower in third trimester and also dehydration can cause it to be low and I'd only had a few sips of water for almost 12 hours due to GTT test so I'm not overly worried. I feel OK but if any of you are extra tired I would speak to MW about iron supplements don't suffer!
Heartburn is awful at the moment especially at night time my baby was also measuring big at 30cm bump measurement wasn't given the percentage centile but it was off the scale on chart!

SMG1992 · 26/09/2023 16:06

@NoodleQueen90 Big baby club for us then! My husband was a huge baby - over 10 lbs so I think it is nurture. We're also both fairly tall, so I guess the baby is just taking after us!
I'm a little worried it might mean I end up having him a bit earlier but I'll just try and get myself as organised as possible in October/ early November.
@VillageFete my midwife said to start taking spartone at my 24 week check up as I was feeling fatigued and I could fee the difference within a few days so worth a try.
I'm interested to see what my bloods say when I get the results tomorrow.

Charlielechat · 26/09/2023 20:01

Interesting hearing all your first measurements! I feel nervous about mine coming up as my bump definitely sits very high and is quite big now! I do have a short abdomen but I don't understand how they'll be able to differentiate! Neither me or my DH were big babies so I hope I'm wrong 🙈

VillageFete · 26/09/2023 20:17

@Daveismyhero That’s utterly ridiculous, you poor thing. I would go back and ask for a prescription for something!

@SMG1992 I’ll definitely speak to my Midwife tomorrow and i’ll mention Spatone. I’m truly exhausted lately!

My Midwife hasn’t done my bump measurement yet. Maybe i’ll ask her to do it tomorrow! I’m 29 weeks now. I did see her last week but she’s asked me back tomorrow as last week’s appt was rushed and we couldn’t go through much, because she needed to leave early.

Beans1982 · 27/09/2023 14:02

Had my first measurement this morning which I was told is pretty much bang on 27 weeks - this really surprised me as I thought I'd be measuring over. My midwife did say though that it may take a few measurements to get a more accurate picture of growth.
Going back next week for the dreaded GD test and bloods so I'm preparing myself for a very long 2-3 hour stint sat in a windowless corridor and no food😒
Feel like i'm joining the club with those feeling shattered - Feel like it takes extra effort to do anything at the moment and I guess the change in weather really doesn't help - it really is like winter out there today with this storm brewing.

Can't believe it's really not long to go before we all meet our little ones! ❤

SMG1992 · 27/09/2023 14:43

I'm having a 3d scan next Monday - will be 29+4.
Has anyone else had one? I'm so excited to hopefully see his little squishy face!
