Thanks for the reassurances everyone!

I'm 5+3 today and while I've been anxious about lack of symptoms, I'm heading away on holiday this morning so now I'd happily have them stay away for next 10 days...!

Will be booking a reassurance scan a couple of weeks after we get back, all the ones near me seem to say 8weeks is their minimum. I have my midwife and nhs scan dates now for early October but all being well I want to tell a few people before then (as they will guess anyway due to social events 🥂🍻).

dory0 · 25/08/2023 06:32

It’s so reassuring to hear your experiences. Glad everything was well @Rainbow890

@GB91 same here, desperate to tell a couple of people but equally also really want to surprise them once I’ve had a scan. Particularly my mum who knows we were starting IVF in September and is going to be so surprised! I’m hoping to hang on a couple of weeks for a 7+ scan before telling her.

Mrsttcno1 · 25/08/2023 06:32

morning! For those talking about the clearblue weeks tests, I do think different people get the 3+ at different times! I tested last Friday and got 2-3, just tested this morning and got 3+, I’m 5 weeks 5 days today and I’m not testing anymore now, I promised myself I was going to stop at the point I saw the 3+ because it’s causing more anxiety for me testing every morning!

going to book an early scan for 2 weeks today I think so I’ll be 7+5 x

dory0 · 25/08/2023 06:34

@Mrsttcno1 same here, I’ve now had a 3+ too and have promised myself I’ll stop testing... hopefully will stick to that! Counting down the days to a scan, think I will book for 7th Sept

sugarplum33 · 25/08/2023 06:57

@SurreyPsych How did the scan go? Sorry you're still feeling sick and hope the annual leave and a bit of rest helps.

@Ttcmumma I second the suggestions of eating. When I was pregnant with my daughter I had crackers stashed in my bedside drawer and would eat something before I even lifted my head off the pillow. Then eating little and often through the day so you never get the empty stomach feeling.

@GB91 Congratulations!

@Rainbow890 Thanks for the reassurance and I'm glad your scan went well. I was definitely having symptoms with my daughter by now and I feel fine this time which is still making me quite anxious but hopefully it's all okay. Maybe it's a boy which is why I feel completely different?!

SurreyPsych · 25/08/2023 08:45

All good thanks @sugarplum33. Measuring pretty much exactly as expected (one day less than dates based on LMP). Thanks for asking x

19EMMA89 · 25/08/2023 09:23

Hey everyone , feel like I haven't been on here in ages !
I was getting obsessed with symptom checking and testing it was too much 😂😂 I got a 3+ on the clearblue and finally put the tests away ! Went for an early private scan yesterday and baby was there and measuring at 7 weeks and there was a heartbeat so I feel a bit better now ! Still don't know how to navigate the next 5 weeks waiting for the 12 week scan 😂😂😂
Hope everyone is doing good , I might join the WhatsApp group but still feel like it's so early !

Poppins2016 · 25/08/2023 12:52

If anyone was tracking BBT, are you still doing so? Pregnancy tests aren't an issue, but putting away the thermometer seems to be! I've given myself a deadline of next Thursday (when I have an early scan) and will stop after that, I think.

Crochetedtractor · 25/08/2023 12:53

Can I join? Just found out I'm pregnant with #2 this morning - we'd been trying for nearly a year so I'm delighted! :D can someone tell me the details of the FB group so I can join? I was part of a really active group with #1 and found it so helpful! xxxx

faban · 25/08/2023 12:53

So lovely hearing about the scans ❤️❤️

sweetdreams23 · 25/08/2023 15:20

I called up EPU this morning and just explained I had had 2 miscarriages recently and they offered me a scan on Tuesday. Couldn't believe it. Just a message to say always worth asking if you've had losses before, even if that's not what official guidance says you will be offered. Looking forward to it but so nervous about it as don't have good experience in that place!

Butterfliesandroses · 25/08/2023 16:55

We had our early scan today (because of recurrent miscarriage). We are 6 days ahead and saw a lovely heartbeat. They also saw a small hematoma next to the sac though, so I have something new to worry about. If anyone has any experience of this, I would love to hear from you x

xxcxdonxx · 26/08/2023 07:09

@sweetdreams23 that is really good to know, thanks for sharing. Sometimes I think I’m ok, I’ve stopped testing and then my mind goes into overdrive of how I didn’t know I had miscarried previously and what if the same has happened this time. I’m only 5 weeks but I think this week I’ll call to register with my midwife and then get a scan arranged with epu.

@Butterfliesandroses that is lovely, to see the little heartbeat is so reassuring 💜

DizzyM43 · 26/08/2023 09:52

Hi I'm on the other April thread but dip into this one I booked in for a scan with EPAC for on Tuesday and while I spoke to them the midwife mentioned dating tests, she said they aren't accurate not everyone even gets the 3+ and not to go by them for dates so any of you worrying about 3+ which I also did just wanted to let you know to put your mind at rest

Bugdem123 · 26/08/2023 10:04

@Poppins2016 I stopped taking my temp the day I got a positive test but I've since got a new Apple Watch which tracks it for me and I've updated my chart a couple of times to see and there is a comfort in seeing all the temps above the cover line. I've got an early scan next week and I think after that I'm going to end the connection between my watch and FF as I don't know if it'll serve me any more.

Poppins2016 · 26/08/2023 10:48

@Bugdem123 that's exactly how I feel - it's nice to know my temperature is still as high as it should be/above the cover line! I suppose it gives the same reassurance as repeat testing... Trouble is, I don't always sleep well and it's sometimes a little up and down, which leads to me overthinking it and wanting to continue taking my temperature! I know it won't change the outcome of the pregnancy/scan next week, and yet... 🤦‍♀️🤣

Bugdem123 · 26/08/2023 11:10

@Poppins2016 yeah exactly! I didn't get to bed until 4am the other night and my temp was really low and even knowing why still had me thinking "oh god what if somethings wrong" 😅.

I'm 6+3 today and think I might be getting some nausea/morning sickness as I just gagged whilst eating my breakfast. Is it wrong I'm kind of excited? Spending the day at a family party pretending I'm too hungover to drink so hopefully it helps my cover story 😂

maryd84 · 26/08/2023 11:39

6 weeks today and loads of symptoms similar to my first pregnancy. Morning sickness. Really sore nipples. Extreme tiredness. Hoping it's a good sign because with the miscarriage last year I had very few symptoms.

dory0 · 26/08/2023 15:48

Anyone else only want to eat beige food?! Only had mild nausea the last few mornings but just don’t feel like eating anything that’s not carbs/salty/plain!? The tiredness has also well and truly kicked in at 5+3!

sugarplum33 · 26/08/2023 16:28

@dory0 I'd been doing fine with eating healthily up until today but I've binged 2 sandwiches and an entire share bag of crisps for lunch Blush I don't know where the sudden insatiable appetite for carbs appeared from?! I then polished it all off with a nice afternoon nap haha.

Cinderz123 · 26/08/2023 17:17

I was just about to post asking if everyone else was as hungry as me today for salty carb loaded food, on my second packet if crisps and I'm just not satisfied!! Could murder a take away tonight iv lost all interest in cooking lol

sugarplum33 · 26/08/2023 17:31

Haha that's so funny @Cinderz123. I think the share bag I had must have been about 5 bags of crisps Blush I'm now motivating myself to think about tea and all the salad bits in the fridge just aren't doing it for me today.

Mimmi92 · 26/08/2023 18:00

@Butterfliesandroses
I had an early scan today and they pointed out a small area which she suspected was subchorionic bleeding (same thing as hematoma I think after doing some googling). She reassured me everything was fine though. I haven't experienced any bleeding or cramps and she said if there will be any, it could be caused by it.
She also mentioned it could be caused by implantation.

Other than that all was well, baby measured 7+0 and had a strong heartbeat 127, and everything was in the right place. I was expecting to be somewhere around 7 weeks due to a longer cycle, although according to my last menstrual date it would have been 8+2. My new due date should be 13/04/2024!

Happy to hear everyone else's experiences of you've got any!

Cinderz123 · 26/08/2023 18:49

@sugarplum33 I always get nausea around tea time which is half the issue y I don't wanna cook 😆 I think my cats feeling my sympathies today coz all he's done is meow for food even after he's been fed lol xx

BlossomTree123 · 26/08/2023 18:54

I feel nauseous and never feel like eating. I’m 5+5. I want my appetite back, but I smell or look at food and I just don’t want it!
