Im the same. Went for a lunch time walk there and boobs felt normal. Like even on movement but nipples still tender. By the time i was home and ate my lunch my boobs are sore again. This such an emotional rollercoaster. Dont feel as tired today but im just sitting at a desk all day. Definitely worse at weekends when im up and about. If only i had a wee scanner at home to keep checking

Its so

Oops sent too soon...but you get the jist

CluelessInLondon · 22/08/2023 13:57

Hi everyone! Have been lurking on the 'April 2024' threads for a few days but not posting - felt compelled to as I am SO relieved to see others saying they don't have much in the way of symptoms. I'm 6+1 and keep reading that morning sickness hits in a big way 6 weeks in, but other than a bit of nausea coming and going I haven't really noticed anything, which then makes me freak out that something is wrong! My other symptoms have been mild cramping/back pain last week (mostly gone now), feeling hungrier than usual, getting emotional/crying for basically no reason (super awkward when that came along in the office!) and sore boobs (anybody else had itchy boobs? So uncomfortable!). Definitely a big reassurance to me to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't really "feel" pregnant.

Going to book an early scan towards the end of next week as I'm far too anxious to wait for 12 weeks - plus I'd like to tell my parents and in laws but want a bit of reassurance that things look okay first.

xxcxdonxx · 22/08/2023 14:00

Hey ladies, I wondered if anyone was in the same boat and could advise. When I had my miscarriage in March, the lovely midwife at Epu had said if we did try again then they would see me early.
I’m only 4 weeks so I know that too early for anything, but would I just contact them and ask for an early scan when I 6/7 weeks possibly? Maybe she was just been nice and im taking her at her word 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 22/08/2023 14:01

Hi @CluelessInLondon with my first pregnancy I had zero symptoms other than tiredness. Literally nothing, no sickness/ nausea/ cravings etc and everything was absolutely fine :) it is a bit disconcerting though as it doesn't feel real! I'm having the exact same this time around but I'm not even 5 weeks so plenty of time for them to kick in

CluelessInLondon · 22/08/2023 14:08

@ThelastRolo20 It's so reassuring to know lots of people have a similar experience - basically all I've thought about since I did my first test 10 days ago is being pregnant, and there is way too much stuff on the internet that makes you think something's wrong or not normal! Swore I would stop reading stuff but have failed miserably so far... 😬

Lbw1292 · 22/08/2023 14:19

@Bugdem123 @sugarplum33 the one good thing is we are all feeling the same then clearly!! Maybe this is just the way it is? 😂 I mean some people go months without even knowing they’re pregnant!

@CinderRosie if it makes you feel better, I have also been having those twinges! They are like once or twice a day but I am just trying to tell myself everything is normal. I have had no spotting just yet (even though that is also normal) so being positive 🤞🏻✨ I am also 5 weeks and 3 days xx

FingersCrossedXXX · 22/08/2023 14:23

Pleased to report the pregnancy is in the right place this time. I burst out crying with relief when she said!

I'm now obviously stressing as only a yolk sac could be seen at this stage, which the sonographer said was normal for the gestation and has booked me back in for 11th September but of course worrying that no fetal pole could be seen! I think I'm around 5+5 but could be a day or two either side I guess!

Booked a private scan next Friday anyway because I have no patience!

sugarplum33 · 22/08/2023 14:25

Brilliant news @FingersCrossedXXX. The sonographer will have seen thousands of pregnancies so if they are happy with what they see, I'd take that as a good sign :)

CinderRosie · 22/08/2023 14:30

@FingersCrossedXXX great news! I understand your anxiety though, just keep telling yourself it's reassuring news x

Lbw1292 · 22/08/2023 14:31

So happy for you @FingersCrossedXXX !! 🩷🩷 I don’t blame you booking the next app for next week. So exciting xxx

FingersCrossedXXX · 22/08/2023 16:22

Thanks ladies. The relief was immense, really had convinced myself it was ectopic again.

I go on holiday on the 2nd so wanted to know before I went so I could relax. Might have been a bad idea if bad news but I'm keeping positive and if it is, well at least I'll have a holiday to take my mind off of it!

Hi all, first post on this thread. I think I'm around 4+4 but I'm stopped OPKs this month and I'm not 100%. I've joined the fb group and WhatsApp.
I had been ttc for 14 months and had started fertility appointments didn't get very far with it and I've got my first bfp. Gonna take a digital date one tomorrow. And I'm not testing anymore.
Emotionally not feeling how I expected in that I thought I would be super happy and loving life. Don't get me wrong im so happy this is finally happening but my emotions are just a bit blank. It's odd. Im also stupid tired and scared everytime I go to the toilet which is a lot at the moment that there's going to be 🩸. Anyone else? Hah.

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 22/08/2023 16:54

Same @ttcfirstbaby90 I'm also quite blank, almost apathetic generally. I'm usually quite emotional when watching mushy stuff and I just feel nothing atm 😅 nit sure if it's hormone related or psychological as I'm so early I've just shut off in case it doesn't go well. Could also just be shock, we were actively trying for 5 months but the actual reality of getting a positive hasn't quite sunk in yet I don't think.

It does feel quite weird as you hear alot about people getting more emotional when pregnant, I'm sure we've got that to come though.

CluelessInLondon · 22/08/2023 17:16

@ttcfirstbaby90 Definitely checking the loo roll every time I go to the toilet - never experienced paranoia like it!

It's so interesting what you say about your emotions and maybe not feeling how you expected to - I'm almost the other way around, I spent ages agonising over the decision of whether or not to have children and at times really thought I definitely didn't want to. Thought actually seeing a positive pregnancy test might send me into a meltdown but am surprisingly happy about it! I think it's easy to make assumptions about how you'll react to something as big as this but there's a lot going on and a lot to get used to so no shame in feeling a bit 'out of it' at the moment.

Realised I didn't put my date on in my earlier post, looks like 15th April although some calculators say the 17th.

Do you think there should be someone responsible for the due date updates? I know we are all adding to the original one but conscious there’s been a couple of losses since 😢

My tiredness is so insane at the mo. Can barely function …booked a scan for next week - so nervous but what can you do?

HelgaPatakisDiary · 22/08/2023 17:51

Hi everyone,

7+2 today and over the last 2 days the nausea and fatigue have hit HARD. I'm throwing up in the mornings then feel like I've been on one of those waltzer funfair rides for the rest of the day 😥Gone off most food but, when I do eat, it's mostly salty crisps and apples. Since my BFP I've completely gone off any sweet foods and usually I LOVE me some cake. Still having a crampy/sicky feeling in lower abdomen, which has been daily since I was 4 weeks.

What helps my sickness: ice lollies, sitting in all 4 position on my yoga mat for a few minutes, strong mints.

Got my booking appointment at 9 weeks, then my dating scan at 12 weeks. Was originally going to book a private early scan but will leave it to 12 weeks as I'm not so anxious anymore.

Found someone selling the pram I want for £400 less than retail price, but it's too early to buy now... right? 👀🙃

CB23CB · 22/08/2023 18:17

@xxcxdonxx I've had two miscarriages this year. When I rang up for my booking appointment they told me to give the early pregnancy unit and call too (they are who looked after me during my surgeries). Spoke to them and they said call at week 7 for a scan at week 8. Hope this helps xx

ASGIRC · 22/08/2023 18:58

@ttcfirstbaby90 @XenaTheWarriorPrincess I also dont really feel much of anything.
Im already 7+4, have had a scan with a lovely heartbeat (and was QUITE relieved that everything was well!!), but I cant say that Im feeling any particular way about it.
It kinda doesnt feel real still.
My mom is SOOOOO excited, and keeps telling me how happy she is... and Im like... Im glad someone is!
Though Im sure once theres movement, and things feel a bit more real, the feelings will kick in!
Cant say hormones have any effect on me... Was also never one for PMS.

ttcfirstbaby90 · 22/08/2023 19:02

@ASGIRC yeah same here with hormones and pms. It's very odd. I'm planning to get an early scan to help it feel more real. I'm thinking of booking it for week 7. So 8th September. My OH is going away for the week after the 8th too so thought it would be nice for him and hopefully he'll believe it's happening too.

Poppins2016 · 22/08/2023 19:06

@NinaGeiger

We read "Loving Comfort" quite a bit.

"Nursies when the sun shines" is also quite a nice book, but it's geared towards night weaning rather than weaning altogether.

ASGIRC · 22/08/2023 19:08

@ttcfirstbaby90 it's definitely reassuring, particularly in the 7th week, as you can see the fetal pole and heartbeat. Anything much earlier and it is more nerve wracking.

Mine was done as part of my IVF, ad have another one at 9 weeks.

And yeah, seeing the little bean will make it more real, but then I've gone back to being disconnected and not even feeling pregnant (apart from the lack of appetite, which comes and goes)

Hope it all goes well for you!!

xxcxdonxx · 22/08/2023 19:28

@CB23CBthank you for the info, that is very helpful. I’ve not spoken to my midwife yet but I’ll keep that in mind.
So sorry to hear of your losses 💜

Rainbow890 · 22/08/2023 19:41

Im not feeling too great tonight. So anxious.

Sunday i was pretty bad with a hangover feeling. Not quite nausea but needing constant sips of water and deep breaths in and out.

Yesterday i was fine all morning then afternoon the same feeling hit and i was really bad until i went for an evening walk. Had to lie down on a cold hard floor etc.

Today....nada. wouldnt even say im tired. Just slightly tender boobs still. Been off my food in evenings and i was even looking forward to soup and crusty roll 😭

Anyone else? Im 7 weeks today

Bugdem123 · 22/08/2023 19:59

I've taken real comfort from some of these posts tonight as I've realised I'm not alone in how I'm feeling so thank you all so much. I felt quite relaxed last week and am back to being anxious about the lack of symptoms this week, it's such a wild ride.

It's interesting what some of you have said about your emotions. I'm normally a big crier, especially in the run up to my period, but I've actually barely cried since I found out. I thought I'd be crying non-stop!

I didn't expect to feel as anxious as I do and I think that's taken me a bit by surprise. I'm trying to just tell myself whenever it crops up "today I'm pregnant and that's enough" and it actually has been helping. Fingers crossed we're all nauseous in the morning 😂
