@faban hi! Well I’m registered at St Michaels so maybe it’s a different system altogether! Talking of dentists the midwife mentioned at my booking in that I could get free dental treatment with and NHS dentist. Can I find any that are taking new patents? No! 😂 but I think that’s the same across the country sadly! X

Noodles4Me · 14/09/2023 22:51

I’m West Yorkshire so not remotely Bristol but the community midwifery service is pretty non existent right now it seems.

theodora2146 · 15/09/2023 08:01

I'm in Surrey and I got my booking app next week, they sent it to me a few weeks ago.

I'm very happy considering there had been lots of strikes here in the NHS

Ttcmumma · 15/09/2023 10:25

Hey ladies I'm around 10 weeks now (tomorrow by LMP) and I really don't feel pregnant anymore. I had MMC in January so I'm so worried, that baby died at 10+6 so I'm at a very paranoid stage! My breasts don't seem as enlarged or sore, I'm not as tired, I do still have mild nausea in the morning but not half as bad as it was and I do need to pee if I wake up in the night but I'm also drinking more water so could be that... am I overthinking? I'm terrified to have a scan, I keep holding out until the 12 week scan on 2nd October cos I just don't want to go to a scan and be told bad news again 🤦🏼‍♀️

sugarplum33 · 15/09/2023 10:43

@Ttcmumma I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience and I can completely understand your worry. Pregnancy symptoms can come and go and really you are coming towards the end of the first trimester so it could be that you are simply over the worst of it now.

Ttcmumma · 15/09/2023 10:55

@sugarplum33 thank you! Yes I'm really hoping the placenta is taking over and that's what's easing the symptoms. With my loss, the placenta still hadn't taken over at 10+5 which seemed a little late and then the baby died the next day. (Had the private scan at 10+5 but 13+2 scan confirmed the baby died at 10+6) so clinging onto hope that the placenta is doing its thing. Id love to go to scan and see that, but I only want to know if its good news, as silly as that sounds x

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 15/09/2023 11:41

It's most likely the placenta taking over @Ttcmumma

I'm just about 8 weeks and looking forward to it, really been knocked on my arse the last 3 weeks.

Fingers crossed for you x

Babyrabbit1 · 15/09/2023 13:03

Hey how is everyone dealing with facial acne? Mine is getting really bad and painful😪 i normally use the mario badescu drying lotion but im not sure if its safe as im super para, google is giving me mixed answers

Misty84 · 15/09/2023 13:33

@Ttcmumma your previous loss was at a similar time to mine so I’m also really scared at 10 weeks now. I have my 12 week scan on same day as you!- 2nd Oct- and I’m just counting down and praying for a better outcome this time. 🙏 Good luck hope things will be ok and symptoms easing is nothing to worry about- even though it’s natural to worry!!!

Butterfliesandroses · 15/09/2023 14:46

@Ttcmumma I had the same as you around 10 weeks. I had loss of symptoms for a whole week. Now in the 11th week and they are all back with a vengance. I was worried too, and looked for reassurance so I hope this helps x

theodora2146 · 15/09/2023 15:03

When will the nausea end 😣

I've not been sick but just that sicky feeling and no appetite the only things I can force my self to eat are dry crisps or biscuits, it's the only thing I can stomach. I did manage to drink a smoothie first thing this morning and I'm gonna try soup for dinner tonight.

I was walking round tesco and all the things I would usually love and I didn't want 😂

Iamcatmum · 15/09/2023 15:51

@Babyrabbit1 pretty spotty over here! Mostly around my mouth and chin. I’ve not told many people yet but the spotty flare up may be a bit of a giveaway to some 😬

I really feel this! I can't eat anything hot, the smell makes me nauseous. I've ate my way through so many packets of crisp im worrying about how much weight ill put on 🙈

If anyone asks me about my spots i just blame it on my 'period' as im not ready to announce my pregnancy yet. Even my makeup doesnt sit right on my face

Pinkstuffs · 15/09/2023 16:12

Has anyone branched out into maternity clothes yet? I’m only 9 weeks but super bloated and anything tight on my stomach is uncomfortable. I’m usually a size 8 but my trousers are tight so wanting to get a couple of new pairs. I’m not sure whether to just buy a size up or get maternity clothes!

blaming it on period is probably a good bet in fairness. Hope yours clears up soon or at least stops being painful as soon as possible. I’m 8 weeks today - I’ve told a few friends who live further away, but going to try and hold out for the 12 week scan to tell rest of friends and family. When do you think you’ll tell people?

sugarplum33 · 15/09/2023 17:28

@Babyrabbit1 Who is asking you about your spots?! So rude!

@Pinkstuffs I'd say maybe try maternity as it's designed to accommodate extra tummy whereas sizing up might not fit the rest of you. And it's expensive to buy maternity clothes for a short window of time so try to get some decent use out of them.

Thankyou i normally have clear skin so its stressing me out and im thinking around week 14/16 - just after first trimester reason being im already showing. If i wasnt i would probably hold off till atleast half way through my pregnancy. How many weeks are you? Im 7+4 today xxx

This has always confused me, ive had a look on boohoo for a few maternity dresses on sale but never know if you have to order a size up or just your regular size

Pinkstuffs · 15/09/2023 18:19

@Babyrabbit1 it confuses me too! I’m planning to try and source most on vinted but going to go shopping tomorrow to understand what’s comfortable so I will let you know 😂

Ttcmumma · 15/09/2023 18:24

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess thank you!

@Misty84 oh how strange we have very similar stories! We will have to update eachother on the 2nd with hopefully brilliant news! It's going to feel so weird going back for a 12 week scan with the knowledge that it could be bad news.

@Butterfliesandroses thank you! That does help, maybe I should appreciate the breather from symptoms incase they too come back with avengence lol

sugarplum33 · 15/09/2023 18:25

@Pinkstuffs @Babyrabbit1 they should be designed to fit in your normal size but just with extra bump and possibly boob room. If you seem to be gaining weight in other areas you may need to size up but the general rule is buy the size you normally would.

Poppins2016 · 15/09/2023 19:57

Someone asked about covid vaccines earlier in the thread... I was sent a booking link by my surgery today (must have been automatically triggered - pregnancy is the only reason I'm eligible) 🙂

Mrsttcno1 · 15/09/2023 21:12

I wonder if the Covid vaccine thing is only by area? I had my booking appointment earlier this week and the midwife specifically said I didn’t need a Covid vaccine when she was telling me about the vaccinations I did need to get (flu jab and whooping cough) x

Pinkstuffs · 15/09/2023 21:19

My midwife did recommend the covid jab, I’m still not sure I want it though!
