Hi @theodora2146 I had a bleed which they said was blood next to the sac, at the scan they could see there was more blood there and advised that it would likely either come out or be reabsorbed. Mine came out a week later which was scary but luckily because they told me about it I was reassured that it wasn’t the start of a MC.

The fact they’ve told you it’s nothing to worry about hopefully means that it shouldn’t impact things! And things are looking very healthy measuring well and strong heartbeat!🙌

Thank you for that!

That's exactly what they said, it may come out or be re absorbed but it's still a worry! But I guess it's all a worry in the early stages!

I booked a private scan to check in a week and then last scan with EPU is on the 2nd October but I just can't wait that long hence the early scan lol

theodora2146 · 14/09/2023 09:24

Anyone else struggling with eating a healthy diet? I usually love eating my vegetables especially broccoli but last night I was just pushing it around my plate and barely ate my dinner.

However I'd quite happily munch on crisps and chocolate lol.

I might make some smoothies maybe that will be a better way of getting the goodness

Misty84 · 14/09/2023 10:26

That’s ok @theodora2146 and I still even have some there last time they looked, a small amount. Yes I agree absolutely everything is worrying at this stage- I’ve never made it this far before 🙏
I think it’s well worth you having a reassurance scan xx

Butterfliesandroses · 14/09/2023 10:36

@Misty84 we found out at a private gender scan. No, they never found a reason.

They've had me on aspirin and I'm convinced this is what has caused the bleed to grow 😔 x

Misty84 · 14/09/2023 11:29

I’m so sorry @Butterfliesandroses that must have been absolutely heartbreaking. I really hope things are different this time for you.
They also have me on aspirin, 75mg a day. Is that the same for you?

FiggyThePudding · 14/09/2023 13:00

Hi everyone. I’m due 16th April. Just back from my early scan expecting to be 8+6 and actually measuring 9+2 😊 was so lovely to see baby moving around as I haven’t had many symptoms and started to wonder if I was imaging it! Will be our second as already have a 4 year old son x

Butterfliesandroses · 14/09/2023 13:11

@Misty84 I am on 150mg. Its reassuring to know that yours has got smaller, despite being on aspirin.

Congratulations @FiggyThePudding , that's lovely news.

SitDownLars · 14/09/2023 14:02

Hi all,

Finally getting round to posting on this thread, I'm 9+2 with my second baby. Also due 16th April @FiggyThePudding!

Just had my appointment through for 12 week scan on 2nd October so feeling excited for that.

How can I request to join the WhatsApp group please?

Noodles4Me · 14/09/2023 16:05

Afternoon all. 10+4 now. Still no 12 week scan. Still no booking in.

I’m privileged to afford to go private - a good job really since I’m getting nowhere with the NHS 😞. Got NIPT next weekend, a bit nervous.

Anyone’s tiredness eased at all? Mine really is kicking my butt.

Hopefulfirstround · 14/09/2023 16:41

@Noodles4Me ive been in bed alllll day , I’m dead . @theodora2146 i usually have a really healthy diet and exercise daily , I’m just about surviving on sandwiches and lucky if I make it to 5,000 steps . I think we just have to be kind to ourselves

sugarplum33 · 14/09/2023 17:10

@theodora2146 I'm the same, nothing green has passed my lips in about 3 weeks although I did push the boat out and managed some boiled carrots yesterday 🤣 Just eat what you can, when you can and take your vitamins. This will soon pass and you'll be able to get back to a bit more of a healthy lifestyle but the early weeks is about just getting through however you can.

@FiggyThePudding That's great news!

@Noodles4Me That's really poor! What have they said when you've contacted them?

ASGIRC · 14/09/2023 17:19

@theodora2146 to be fair, Im struggling with eating any and everything, so I figure whatever I want to eat is fair game.
My lack of appetite is still pretty strong.
By some miracle, one of the few things that actually sounds apetizing to me is a sort of greek salad, with cold pasta.
So Ive been eating that almost daily.

Im sure Ill get sick of it soon, and will have to find something else i fancy eating that is not mcdonalds! (and pretty sad pizza and cheese sound really bad at the moment)

Bluesky85 · 14/09/2023 18:08

I’m 11 weeks now and still feeling sick 24/7 and have lost a lot of weight. The thought of any food turns my stomach! I have got some anti sickness medication but it only really takes the edge off a bit. I am basically forcing myself to eat bland food very slowly. It’s no fun! I just want my old life back! Also finding the midwife situation quite hard work. I’ve called them twice about two different issues and they never got back to me on either. I’ve tried ringing the scan department repeatedly to find out if and when my 12 week scan is as I’ve heard nothing and you just can’t ever get through, it just cuts you off. I’ve got so fed up I’ve booked a private scan for tomorrow plus NIPT as this lack of info or contact from the NHS is stressing me out!

Misty84 · 14/09/2023 18:16

@Noodles4Me thats terrible, I can’t believe you’re that far along and they’ve had no communication with you!!

I’m currently horizontal and have been for the past few hours, I am WIPED by the afternoon. So groggy.
But as long as baby is ok, I’ll take it!!

sugarplum33 · 14/09/2023 18:32

Oh @Bluesky85 I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten, I felt like that in my first pregnancy and it was hell, I just lay in bed all day waiting to go to sleep for some relief from it. It will all be worth it in the end but the days seem very long at this point so be kind to yourself, you're doing great. I can't believe your midwives and hospital are so rubbish as well, sounds like you're having very similar issues to @Noodles4Me

Have you tried you gp? Xx

CinderRosie · 14/09/2023 19:29

Hey all. I’m 8+5 and also having a tough week. Nausea has eased off quite a bit but I’m getting random spells of gagging for no real reason, which is really awkward and stressful at work. I’ve had to WFH a couple of days and I feel like such a flake for it. Tonight I’ve also had a migraine for the first time in well over a year so it looks like I’ll be WFH again tomorrow as mine tend to linger for a couple of days and I’m hesitant about taking good painkillers 😔 I’m also really anxious that everything is ok with baby, even though we had a good healthy scan on Sunday I’m so worried something is wrong I am really not enjoying this first trimester and time is dragging.

Bluesky85 · 14/09/2023 19:36

@sugarplum33 thanks for your words of support. Yes I really hope it gets better soon as it’s really getting me down and making me quite tearful about things that normally wouldn’t bother me. And the (lack of healthcare) situation definitely doesn’t help! Yes similar to @Noodles4Me - it makes you feel quite forgotten doesn’t it?

Bluesky85 · 14/09/2023 19:37

Thanks @Babyrabbit1 yes I did get in touch with my gp in the end about the first issue and they were great and rang back the same day. The second issue isn’t something the gp can help with unfortunately x

Mammac85 · 14/09/2023 19:43

Evening all

I know what you mean about the tiredness I've been knackered most days and falling asleep on the sofa by the afternoon my 13-year-old sent me to bed after school.

I sent my referral off to the midwife finally on Monday and im just waiting to hear back now, I've been having some niggly cramps today and the pressure feeling is back 😔 I don't remember if I had it in previous pregnancies. Think I will be worried until I see that 20-week scan though. I had a previous loss 3 days before my 12-week scan.

Noodles4Me · 14/09/2023 19:46

Haha @Bluesky85 I wonder if we are the in the same area? This is worse than 3 years ago when I was last pregnant and I’m even more high risk this time! Usual fob off excuses…ugh.

Sorry you are so poorly. It’s draining isn’t it? Sadly I have no suggestions. Bananas are supposed to be good but no idea how true that is!

Ttcmumma · 14/09/2023 20:25

@Noodles4Me that awful! My hospital need the bloods taken before 10 weeks. With my last pregnancy, I got to 9 weeks and hadn't heard anything. Contacted them and turned out I had been forgotten about and they rushed me into a booking appointment 2 days later and my scan ended up being 13+2 so not awful. This time I self referred at about 4 weeks incase it happened again and within 3 days (weekend included!!) I had received my booking in and first scan appointments. Had booking in around 7 weeks and they booked further appointments such as consultant and 16 weeks midwife appointment. My hospital is usually awful but they've been on it this time

Bluesky85 · 14/09/2023 20:30

Hi @Noodles4Me i am in Bristol, which apart from being in general a great city, seems to have shocking healthcare provision across the board.

faban · 14/09/2023 21:12

@Bluesky85 I'm in Bristol too! Which hospital are you going to? I must admit last time Southmead were pretty good and my MW was incredible so I've gone back to her, had my booking app on Tuesday and already been called by the genetic testing team and got my 12 week scan app! but on the flip side I used to work in the dental hospital and yeah it's terrible 😂

BlossomTree123 · 14/09/2023 21:50

Hi All, I’m 8+3 and nausea and sickness is really taking its toll on me now. I dread meal times, everything is turning my stomach, I’ve had to miss taking my vitamins a few days as I can’t physically get myself to swollen them. Literally surviving on bread and butter when I can manage it. Have no appetite and as soon as I smell food I can’t go near it. Constantly bloated and feel rotten. Also tiredness is killing me and I know I’m only feeling as tired as I am because I’m not eating enough. It’s a viscous circle. Really just want an appetite back!
