Emma1822 · 09/09/2023 21:21

I tell you what I’m so thankful I will not be heavily pregnant during summer because this heat is destroying me at the moment if I'm not weeing or puking I’m definitely sweating 😩😂

Tell me about it😂😂 ive never sweated so much before and im only 6 weeks, sense of smell is even stronger so can smell BO everywhere in the supermarket today everytime someone went past me eeeww

whatthehelldowecare · 09/09/2023 21:29

@Babyrabbit1 good now the shock has worn off 😂 no sickness or anything as yet, long may that continue!

Emma1822 · 09/09/2023 21:29

@Babyrabbit1 Thank god the smell isn’t just me I feel like a police sniffer dog I’m 8 weeks tomorrow and hoping it doesn’t get much worse🤞🏻

Its awful isnt it. I dont have morning sickness but certain smells are making me gag

maryd84 · 09/09/2023 21:43

@Babyrabbit1 omg I'm finding the smells from people so bad at the moment. From BO to bad breath. It's really adding to my nausea🤢

CluelessInLondon · 09/09/2023 23:19

@Doodlestar I've had a bit of light-headedness, especially if I've been sitting or lying down and get up too quickly, or if I haven't eaten for a while. Read that it's fairly normal as the body is trying to get more blood to the uterus - fortunately it's not happening to me too often.

Misty84 · 10/09/2023 07:10

@Emma1822 Ive been thinking exactly the same thing, THANK GOD we won’t be pregnant next summer!

Had my booking in appointment yesterday, 1.5hrs sat in a small stuffy room with no air con and a non-working fan 🥵

dory0 · 10/09/2023 07:47

Same here, really struggled with the heat this week and grateful to be heading into cooler weather!

Has everyone already had or got a date for their booking appointment? I did a self referral form online 2-3 weeks ago but haven’t heard anything yet. Not sure whether to chase… I know they’ll be busy.

Bugdem123 · 10/09/2023 07:48

I've been thinking the same - I'm so glad we'll be heavily pregnant in the winter. This heat is horrific.
I've also woken up this morning to find my usual morning coffee is tasting metallic and just wrong. I'm gutted 😂
I have my booking appointment this week, is it weird that i'm so excited for it?

MrsKeayxo · 10/09/2023 09:11

By our calculations we're due on 30th April! 😍

CluelessInLondon · 10/09/2023 10:25

Morning everyone, hope you are all feeling okay today. I could do with a bit of reassurance/hand-holding today - I've had some bleeding over the last 12 hours and it sent me into a total meltdown late last night. It's not heavy and is now pretty much only when I wipe, not even showing up on a pad, but it's the first bleeding I've had since finding out I was pregnant a month ago so I'm completely terrified something is going wrong. I don't have any other worrying symptoms, no cramps or anything like that, and I've got my booking appointment tomorrow morning so I'm planning to discuss it with the midwife then (tried calling the early gynae unit at the hospital to ask if there's anything else I should do today but no answer!), but it was such a shock seeing it after having had no issues like that up to now.

GB91 · 10/09/2023 11:01

Morning @CluelessInLondon, sorry to hear what's happened. I had similar happen last week, I was about 6.5 weeks, had spotting and cramping for 2 days so feared the worst, spoke with the GP and got booked in for an early scan in EPU, everything was fine, saw a little heartbeat and they couldn't see anything on the scan as to where the blood came from either 🤷. So from what they told me, spotting and some blood in early pregnancy can be common for some, still very worrying but I hope the outcome for you is positive too. They told me to call back if it gets heavy or I need to use a pad so hopefully because yours isn't heavy either it will be okay. Good timing for your midwife appointment as they should be able to help tomorrow. My EPU don't work weekends so maybe it's the same in your locality?
It was a tough wait for the scan (had to wait from Friday til Tuesday) but I tried to tell myself whatever is happening is out of my control and tried to keep distracted until I could speak with EPU. Look after yourself x

Cinderz123 · 10/09/2023 11:27

@CluelessInLondon our EPU is closed at the weekend but they gave me the number to the ward should I need to get in touch out of hours is that a possibility for u? Sending lots of love xx

CluelessInLondon · 10/09/2023 11:40

Thank you @GB91 and @Cinderz123 - I'm keeping fingers crossed that it doesn't get any worse today and trying to use my rational brain to remind myself that there are lots of reasons for bleeding in pregnancy and it doesn't automatically mean something is really wrong. The early gynae unit at my hospital is meant to be open in the mornings on weekends but I've tried a couple of times and nobody is answering so as long as it doesn't get worse today I'll chat with the midwife tomorrow and see if they might offer me a scan. I definitely can't manage the anxiety of waiting for the 12 week scan!

Bugdem123 · 10/09/2023 16:20

@CluelessInLondon hopefully the midwife can offer you some reassurance tomorrow and hopefully will also get you in for an earlier scan. I know you'll be anxious today but as you say, there can be lots of reasons for spotting in pregnancy. I'll keep my fingers crossed everything is okay x

WordyShapesOfWomen · 10/09/2023 16:58

Can I tentatively join please? I'm 7 weeks 1 day today. Had an ectopic scare last week so got seen in the EPAU and the scan showed a little blob in the right place with a flicker of a heartbeat.

First baby, very unplanned with very new partner but we're both very excited.

Due April 27th :)

Misty84 · 10/09/2023 17:02

Hi @CluelessInLondon I had some bleeding at 6 weeks, had a scan and it was all ok but they said they could see a bit more blood in my lining so not to worry if it came out- it did about a week later but luckily I’d been reassured.
I think the key thing is that it isn’t continual. Both those times just lasted a morning when I wiped.

When I had my miscarriage a few years ago I had spotting every time I wiped for 4 days before I could get a scan, and obviously it wasn’t good news. Then the mc happened properly about a week later.

So things can go either way with spotting but I think if it’s not much and it stops then you should be ok!!

WordyShapesOfWomen · 10/09/2023 17:11

Oh and also, is there a Facebook/Whatsapp group? I tried to click on a link further up the thread but it doesn't work! Thank you :)

Hey just a heads up, we're looking at closing the WhatsApp to new people as it's grown a bit recently so if you'd like to join it might be worth hopping on now.

Fair warning we're REALLY talkative but you don't have to keep up.

Don't worry about being anxious or bringing people down or anything we've got worries aplenty and are a friendly and supportive bunch.
